The friendly culture is everything for me. It's such a simple thing, but being in a place where everyone smiles back and greets you has such an postive impact on your self-esteem and mental well-being. Tanzanians are so kind and have a very beautiful culture. Thank you for sharing.❤

The friendly culture is a normal thing on the continent, the warmth is more like a default, it is what we are as the people especially in East Africa, the thing is where you land first you may fall in love with that place because it's your new first experience, so it's better to choose where you want to land first other ways you might be falling in love over and over in every place or country you go too😇

Na Wakenya kaskazimi hawajatambua umaarifa wa nchi ya Tanzania. I am from Kenya but quite honestly if I was to give a score on scale 1-100 on how far they have decolonised and liberated their minds towards African redemption, I give Kenya a score of 48% and Tanzania 75%.
Tamzania leads Africa in the process of freeing the African mind from the aftermath of colonisation.
They are bold and dare in places never explored before. We as Kenyans are so blessed to have Tanzania as our neighbour but we don't know it.

Believe me, I wish our Tanzanian leaders and people do more to open their arms to our own brothers and sisters from the diaspora. They will bring speedy progress to the country. Open up the country, let them get visas, citizenship، start businesses easily like in a week they should be able to register a business. Let them settle quickly. Remember all great countries have been built by the migrants and those which have not, are so boring because of lack of diversity and colours. Let the criterion of getting a Tanzanian citizenship for a Blackman is the the mastering of Kiswahili only. If one masters it in six months, one year, five years...mupnto them. Kiswahili is the only single thing that makes us Tanzanians. That should be enough.
    I wish I were president!

U have come with an open mind not wanting to change things or critise look down on or compare Tanzania with America all the time. U have left America behind and are embracing and loving genuinely the people. U certainly will survive and do very well. Tanzania reminds me of Jamaica. I dont see or hear police car. Very limited selection of foods when you take the carbs out but that was my choice. Being in a small village in Tanga region added more challenge. I don't see it as negative, I just had to be more creative in food prep . 😊😁🤪

Wonderful and refreshing as always to see you commenting, respecting and embracing Africa, where we are deeply rooted and connected. Seeing yourself reflected back in the people that surround you, that reminds you of family. It’s the simple things that can make a difference to our well-being, like a warm greeting, the food that we connect to, the bright colours, the sun on your face, that fulfils our souls, and of course a smile. You do it so well.

#10 is such an amazing perspective, you have a great mind Mark. Before my decision to move to Africa (will be on the continent soon 🙌🏿☺️) I was going to move back to Jamaica. My family there would always ask why I would ever move to a place with "nothing" there. I would tell them it was because I saw the "lack" as an area I could help improve (opportunity). I decided on Africa instead a few months ago for other reasons, but the concept is the same. This was another great video as usual, thanks for sharing! 💜

Maybe...but the right Diaspora will wake up and come home. Eventually all foreigners need to leave. Africa is for Africans ;-)

I live in The Caribbean. Nassau Bahamas. Its really not staring when we look at people. Its paying attention to them as human beings. We don't get to know each other and anticipate each others needs by looking straight ahead as we pass each other. The other day, I pulled into a parking lot with the intention of turning around and happened to "stare" at a young lady who was sitting on some steps, obviously in distress. I called her to my car and found out that she had been thrown out of the house by her boyfriend the night before. I was able to encourage and help her financially with one stare.

Thank you for telling me where you are from Mark. I used to live in Salt Lake City Utah only about 400 miles from Las Vegas. I would like to go live in Dar es Salaam, but I need to know how long I can be there. Can I go and stay permanently? I have an Idea for a very profitable business, but first I have to get there. When I do, I will contact you because maybe you can help me to get oriented. Best Regards, Joseph

My pharmacist Gonza is from Tanzania. I've been to my husband's hometown in Mexico, but that's the farthest from the USA. I'd love to come to Africa. U have the most beautiful plants, flowers, and animals. I have a blue and gold macaw named Snoopy but she's in a cage. U have those birds flying freely in the jungle! I want to see that someday.

Mark, you are very open-minded and objective. I like that. As concerns the fact that children often stare at visitors, you are correct to say that it is nothing against you as a foreigner. It is just common practice, not only in Tanzania but in most African countries (including Cameroon where I come from).

The African American community should think of comming to Africa to invest, live and bring new ideas in order to improve things in the Motherland. Just look at jews in America. All jews love Israel and visit there atleast once in their lifetimes. Africa is the home of all AAs and must make them come here and do things happen. Lingaa from Uganda
