In Tanzania there is one word we use your neighbor is your relatives coz you can get sick and the one who is gonna help you is your neighbor so here if you live and you don't talk or understand your neighbor mmmh is the problem they think you have problem 😂😂😂😂 your neighbor can knock the door and give you some food you even don't ask for just love and especially when is holidays 💕💕💕🇹🇿
The friendly culture is everything for me. It's such a simple thing, but being in a place where everyone smiles back and greets you has such an postive impact on your self-esteem and mental well-being. Tanzanians are so kind and have a very beautiful culture. Thank you for sharing.❤
The friendly culture is a normal thing on the continent, the warmth is more like a default, it is what we are as the people especially in East Africa, the thing is where you land first you may fall in love with that place because it's your new first experience, so it's better to choose where you want to land first other ways you might be falling in love over and over in every place or country you go too😇
@@markmeetsafricain hello I would like to know more about the Tanzanite that's been mined in Tanzania years do you have any information about it and is it true that the mining for Tanzanite is completely over and no one can mine for it anymore?
Na Wakenya kaskazimi hawajatambua umaarifa wa nchi ya Tanzania. Tamzania leads Africa in the process of freeing the African mind from the aftermath of colonisation. They are bold and dare in places never explored before. We as Kenyans are so blessed to have Tanzania as our neighbour but we don't know it.

In the UK, loneliness is so prevalent that the government appointed a Minister of Loneliness. Something like that would never be needed in Tanzania or the Caribbean because we are more friendly and warm
You’re right! The west promotes a lot of ‘individualism’ that people begin to feel family is a burden. I’ve voiced my opinion and have always said, so long as I’m alive none of my parents will go in a care home. NEVER!
If the word "positivity" was a person you would be the embodiment of it. I was born in Tanzania but raised in Maryland. Your openmindedness and insatiable appetite for learning already makes you ahead of most people in the world. Keep it up.
Mark What I like about u is that u have fit right into the Tanzanian culture. U have come with an open mind not wanting to change things or critise look down on or compare Tanzania with America all the time. U have left America behind and are embracing and loving genuinely the people. U certainly will survive and do very well. Tanzania reminds me of Jamaica. I dont see or hear police car. It is not a Police State
Good report on living in Tanzania Mark; at his age after watching about 10 of his videos, never a curse on his commentaries, everything that he says is so positive…
I'm in Canada to, Toronto. I've lost 28.8 lbs not even trying. But I avoided starchy food and walked . I'm on keto in Canada and wanted to see if I can maintain it in Tanzania. Very limited selection of foods when you take the carbs out but that was my choice. Being in a small village in Tanga region added more challenge. I don't see it as negative, I just had to be more creative in food prep . 😊😁🤪
I’m a Somali American, and to your #2 favorite, I think it’s the beauty of the synchronized chaos. I noticed a lot of African capitals are like this. It’s really interesting and comforting in a way
Believe me, I wish our Tanzanian leaders and people do more to open their arms to our own brothers and sisters from the diaspora. They will bring speedy progress to the country. Open up the country, let them get visas, citizenship، start businesses easily like in a week they should be able to register a business. Let them settle quickly. Remember all great countries have been built by the migrants and those which have not, are so boring because of lack of diversity and colours. Let the criterion of getting a Tanzanian citizenship for a Blackman is the the mastering of Kiswahili only. If one masters it in six months, one year, five years...mupnto them. Kiswahili is the only single thing that makes us Tanzanians. That should be enough. I wish I were president!
No Tanzania should remain that way at least protecting citizens, anyone who wants to buy property must renounce their citizenship before gaining the one of Tanzania.
No. 11 ... The safety. You could walk for days without seeing/meeting an armed police. Self discipline is the order of the day. The more crowded the place, the safer it is. I notice a lot of people take it for granted that you can walk around a city of 6 million without getting mugged.

I live in The Caribbean. Nassau Bahamas. Its really not staring when we look at people. Its paying attention to them as human beings. We don't get to know each other and anticipate each others needs by looking straight ahead as we pass each other. The other day, I pulled into a parking lot with the intention of turning around and happened to "stare" at a young lady who was sitting on some steps, obviously in distress. I called her to my car and found out that she had been thrown out of the house by her boyfriend the night before. I was able to encourage and help her financially with one stare.
That's true "pole pole life is busy for some people but taking time to think and slow things down will help the mind to do wat it works and wat is right.
Exactly that how Tanzanian is like they greet you even you don't want it they say Hi and other can smile at you even they don't know you and help you even they don't know you 💕💕💕💞
Mark, you are very open-minded and objective. I like that. As concerns the fact that children often stare at visitors, you are correct to say that it is nothing against you as a foreigner. It is just common practice, not only in Tanzania but in most African countries (including Cameroon where I come from).
when i was in Cameroon visiting my hubby's family, there were cocks crowing at 11 pm at night randomly in our compound,, ..i asked my husband what cock crows at that time?? strange,,coming from someone from the Caribbean,,his brother told him the cocks is confused with so many lights in the city,,,,lol
My pharmacist Gonza is from Tanzania. I've been to my husband's hometown in Mexico, but that's the farthest from the USA. I'd love to come to Africa. U have the most beautiful plants, flowers, and animals. I have a blue and gold macaw named Snoopy but she's in a cage. U have those birds flying freely in the jungle! I want to see that someday.
You always present a upbeat positive vlog and you always have an infectious smile. Wonderful and refreshing as always to see you commenting, respecting and embracing Africa, where we are deeply rooted and connected. Seeing yourself reflected back in the people that surround you, that reminds you of family. It’s the simple things that can make a difference to our well-being, like a warm greeting, the food that we connect to, the bright colours, the sun on your face, that fulfils our souls, and of course a smile. You do it so well.
