Arden? I wanted to say, I have been practicing more with this whole idea of "implode." I realized something huge the other day! If you are thinking about your voice originating further and further away from you the longer you sing a phrase, and your vowels getting progressively taller and more resonant, it definitely contributes to the idea of being an open channel, and singing from the energy of just loving music and humanity! It is all coming together! Thanks again for everything you do, Arden! Love, Susan
Arden? I wanted to say, I am practicing with this whole idea of "implode," and believe it or not, it is related to "let the air come in." When you think "bring your voice to you," you are much more likely to "let the voice happen," and your only job is to stand there, and let the voice sing through you! It is WORKING! I have learned the 'feel" of "one continuous lean" on your breath support, no matter how many different pitches you are singing in a phrase! I've been listening a lot to singers like Rosa Ponselle, and Montserrat Caballe (particularly singing Desdemona's prayer from Verdi's Otello), and my next technique goal that I want to achieve is the high pianissimo. I still don't know if I am going to feel led to audition for AGT come January, but I definitely want to achieve the supported high pianissimo for its own sake! Thanks so much for making this video! Merry Christmas to you and your family! Love, Susan
