    The line "You're a far wiser man than I" is used here but repeated from Qui-Gonbto Obi-Wan in TPM and spoken from Obi-Wan to Anakin in ROTS.
    It's a great thread between generations.

    Qui Gon, Dooku and Anakin each have values of a maverick which separates them from other Jedi
    Dooku doesn’t abide by the rules and just follows his instincts
    Qui-Gon listens to the philosophy of the Living Force and is chosen to follow his own will instead of the Jedi Code
    Anakin is unorthodox and driven by passion but he sometimes likes to disobey the Council’s orders

    Also when Jedi come for a force sensitive baby, the family can refuse to give them up to the Jedi and keep them. And the Jedi will leave them alone
    In the story Master and Apprentice, that’s where I learned of Dooku and Qui Gon’s teacher/student relationship. It explores the dynamics between dooku, qui goin, and many other characters. It’s an amazing story highly recommend reading/listening to it

    I think Mace hated Anakin because he may have reminded him of Dooku and Anakin was also not a by-the-book rule-keeper. The audio drama, "Dooku: Jedi Lost", is really good at giving some more backstory of Dooku. It works hand-in-hand together with the novel, Master and Apprentice, about Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan, which gives some more details about Dooku too. Dooku is also the one who introduced Qui-Gon to ancient prophecies, which the Jedi Council did not like about Dooku. Qui-Gon was also getting a bit disillusioned by the Jedi Council, most likely because of his own experiences working with Dooku. Qui-Gon just as easily could've left the Order as well, but he stayed instead to try to change the system from within by being appointed on the Council himself, whereas Dooku saw no hope for the Jedi.

      Mace was powerful but he was .y least favorite Jedi, I'm a maverick by nature, not a rule follower if the rules are stupid. So Mace just represents the type of person I have no respect for, a kiss ass and someone that can never think for themselves or act in an out of the box way even if the situation requires it

      @@4everhealthwellness344 Well said. I feel exactly the same.
      Honestly, I never get why ppl like him soo much. Sure, he's a badass lightsaber fighter and he can keep the balance of dark/light side, but his attitude always turned me off. I never really liked him, not in the prequels or in the CW either. He was so annoying.. his blind attachment to the rules and arrogance made him a closed-minded person who doesn't see that sometimes it's the rules that are wrong.
      As we well know, the Jedi Council was wrong and made serious mistakes so many times, but they're so blind... Windu made huge mistakes himself bcs of such an attitude.. like in the case of Ahsoka or Anakin... but he was so arrogant that he didn't allow the thought that he might be wrong, ughh ( like in the conversation with Ahsoka (CW, s5) even then he was unable to admit a mistake..wtf? seriously, very annoying character).
      Also, Windu just pre-judged and rejected Jedi who showed independent thinking and unconventional methods. That's not how the true Jedi should act, imo. Jedi should believe in people and have an open mind to be able to assess the situation objectively. Jedi should give ppl a chance and guide them instead of rejecting them so quickly. Also, they shouldn't be puppets of the Senate and follow its rules even when the rules are clearly wrong, lmao.
      (Seriously, after watching CW I think The Jedi Council is a Joke, I probably would be a separatist too, or stay independent like Ahsoka or smth, lol).
      Windu represents the opposite of what a true Jedi is. Sorry, not sorry. Arrogance and closed-minded are not the Jedi way! lol. I respect and value people with independent thinking and an open mind so Windu is definitely my least favorite Jedi in the entire SW universe.
      Sorry for the essay, lol, and for my English- it's not my 1st language 😅✌

      @@luminaratano3935 biggest irony is that in Legends, Windu brought forth Rahm Kota to the Jedi Temple for training despite the fact that Kota was way too old.
      Kota was like eighteen at the time. Way older than Anakin and yet, he had no problem being in someone who was basically an adult. Never understood that.
      Its one reason I cannot stand Jedi like Mace. Such hypocrites and they act like their shit didn't stink.

    Ahsoka was discovered by Master Plo Koon at 3 and she became Anakin's padawan at 14. Ahsoka's mom is a bad ass and we see why Ahsoka was so fearless. I love these stories about her and Dooku it really helps to understand and appreciate them later in the SW saga, Filoni is truly a Master Jedi. I hope we get a Tales of the Sith series.

    I'm not entirely certain, but I'm pretty sure that parents have a choice about whether or not to give up their child to the Jedi Temple if the child has force sensitivity. It is generally considered an honor so I'd say a majority of people probably agree to send their kids to Coruscant.

    • @kenle2
      @kenle2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The Jedi do make a "hard sell" to the parents of children who have a high Midoclorian count or have demonstrated strong Force sensitivity early.
      They point out how the child could be endangered or endanger others if they don't learn to control their Force abilities and offer the best education the Republic could provide.
      It's way more salesmanship than kidnapping.

    26:03 How was it a mistake to give Mace Windu a seat on the Council instead of Dooku? Windu proved that he can be relied on to follow protocol, whereas Dooku's actions led to the death of a senator, albeit a corrupt one, but it could have been avoided if Dooku hadn't interfered or reported to the Council first as Windu suggested.
    No matter how well intentioned he started out as, in the end it was Dooku who turned to the dark side and committed countless atrocities. Blaming the Republic or the Jedi is mere scapegoating. Even if he had a point about the institutions he served, that doesn't give him the right to betray and kill his fellow Jedi, or start a war that led to the suffering and death of the people he professed to care about.

    • @walhallberserker610
      @walhallberserker610 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah dude obviously Mace is so great believing himself to be the choosen one, alienating Anakin. Also Tales of the Jedai showed that it was inevitable for Dooku to fall right? The Jedai and Republic had no problems whatsoever, probably the reason their destruction was met with thunderous applause.
      The Jedai orders problem is Yoda. No being can wield that kind of power for centuries without becoming complacent at best or corrupt at worst. He has no idea that it's overtaken him; he no longer sees all the little cumulative evils that the Republic tolerates and fosters, from slavery to endless wars; and he never asks,"why are we not acting to stop this?" Live alongside corruption for too long, and you no longer notice the stench. The Jedai cannot help the slaves of Tatooine, but they can help the slavemasters.
      Count Dooku

    • @noname01xr
      @noname01xr ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Since when did Mace ever claim to be the Chosen One? He never denied that Anakin was the Chosen One. At the very least he was open to the possibility that the prophecy was true, given some of his dialogue in episodes 2 and 3. Mace and the Jedi did trust Anakin with their lives, a mistake that cost them everything. They just didn't trust him to put the greater good ahead of his own interests or attachments, especially when it came to Palpatine. If you think they should have fed his ego with praises the way Palpatine did, you'd be wrong. The Jedi would never do that nor should they have to. They bent their own rules to let him into the Order despite his age and the fact that he was already compromised by his attachments and his fear. They gave a former slave who had nothing a home and a purpose, but that just wasn't enough for the boy who thought he was better than everyone. He said it himself, "I want more". He was doomed to betray the Jedi and condemn the galaxy because as good of a person as he was, he was also full of fear, anger, hate, and ambition for power and control.

There are enough star wars lore channels who did videos on maces belives so go watch them if you are even interested.he believed himself to be the choosen one as he was the only one being able to tap into the darkside using vaapad wihout getting corrupted thats the reason his lighsaber is purple and not simply blue and that is the reason he believed to be the one to bring balance to the force and the reason he always resented Anakin. To fulfill this "destiny" he went to go confront sidious while ordering Anakin to stay away.
