You might mention that these 1/24 scale kits being released by AMT are actually Italeri kits from Europe. Round2 must have arranged a deal with Italeri to do this. From my experience, Italeri kits are superior in quality to AMT - the molding is more precise as is the fitment. The instructions are much easier to follow as well. The sealing tabs on the box are another clue - many European and Japanese kits are not completely wrapped.

Bob, you are so right about this being the Italeri kit. I didn't realize it when I made the video. But it totally made since since most of the model kit and diecast model makers share tools to expand product lines and cut development costs. I'd also totally agree with you that the Italeri kits are superior to AMT, but they usually have a higher price tag to go with that.

Hmmm ... AMT still molds trucks nut they do it in 1/25 scale. What we have here (other than "a failure to communicate") is an Italeri kit molded in 1/24 scale, which is the more common scale for European car and truck models. Round 2 must have negotiated a deal with Italeri in order to re-label these kits for North American sale.

Sharing tools is a very common practice in the toy world. Monogram, Revell, AMT, SMP, they all shared tools and still do today. It increases the product mix offered at lower tooling costs so a win for both companies and a win for collectors as more opportunity to find the models we want.

this is a repop of an Italeri kit not an AMT originally

Thanks for telling me, I didn't know that it was an Italeri but I should have guessed it wasnt an AMT tooling since it was 1/24th and all their other semi tractor kits are 1/25th scale. Also tool sharing is soo common in the model kits and diecast markets.

@@LoganSkeele actualy my spring ride cabover rode better then some air ride, air ride made running in snow and ice not fun too much give in the suspension, when I got air ride I found myself having to chain up way more and low profile tires made it even worse

@@dewaynemiguel3349 Low Profile tires on any vehicle are really just a bad idea all around, but they look cool so everyone wants to make and use them. Where most spring suspensions give bad rides really isnt the springs fault, it is not having good shock absorbers. Air ride solved that problem, but as you said it can put too much give in leading to less confidence in the system.
