I came back to minecraft this week after 2 years. I first found a geode on my first day playing, it was such an experience. I was exploring a deep cave and came across a weird white block, I thought it was a fossil or something so I started digging and for my surprise I found myself inside this beautiful egg-like structure covered in amethyst. I had the luck to find this 5% complete geode and I had no idea what was going on so I started walking around and collecting blocks and shards. I guess I didn't even know amethyst was in the game so it caught me completely off guard. I love the chime the block makes and mining them is so satisfying. I did a quick google search and found out they were mostly for decoration but I picked up 2 stacks of them anyway but I guess this tinted glass block will be useful sometime
It really is a beautiful thing. Hope they add more types of Geodes and uses for the resources. Amethyst tools etc would be sick since Minecraft has just had the base wood/stone/iron/good/diamond tools for a long time & netherite is almost not even worth trying to obtain
@@ebossnz6838 As said before, you would have to be remarkably lucky for that to be true. It would actually be more probable that you are running into geodes that are intersecting, which aren't technically full geodes still. They're 2 exposed geodes that broke each other. And also, even a singular block being exposed to ANYTHING that isn't the basalt layer is not a full geode. So if you find a geode that isn't exposed to air, but is exposed to stone or deepslate on one side...it's not a full geode either. It doesn't have to be exposed to a cave
I genuinely love watching this guy's videos so much. It's so rare to find someone who is just 100% helpful about the game without putting in a ton of cringe filler and nonsense. You've helped me understand so many things that I couldn't understand about the game for so long even when I tried looking them up
Tinted glass was awesome for me. I have 2 spawners near each other in a realm with friends. Ive been build testing all sorts of different blocks for a spectator area around them. Couldn't find a solution. I had no idea they had a glass for my exact situation. Super nifty will for sure be using that in the future. Sadly I didn't see this video before spam mining a close geode to the community village. The thought of new building textures was too much. 🤣 bummer I missed an opportunity to setup a resource farm with the budding crystals, but I'm sure I'll find another.
I dont know why but I just love the detail at the start of the video on 0:03, 1.15 being the bee update, 1.16 as the netherite update, 1.17 and 1.18 as the caves and cliffs update, etc.
Its always awesome when that happens, a long time ago I found 3 spawners within the correct radius of each other and definitely made a farm out of them
@@theunknownonetuo2033 I'm sure you have already found your answer, but random tick generation only occurs within a 128 block radius of a player. So, you need to have all of the budding amethyst within a 128 block radius sphere around you for it to grow amethyst crystals.
Found a geode under my boat dock with the open face facing the water and the whole thing had air so it was a pretty neat little underwater amethyst base
Your thumbnail made me realize they’re in a geode! The attention to detail was crazy! Amethyst my favorite crystal and obsidian is my favorite rock. I just wish they added the different colors of obsidian and made them have different uses.
LOVE the way these blocks look. When I first made a spyglass i was like "oh this is dumb' now i find myself wanting it all the time lol especially for exploring
I remember having the same issue with spectating as someone else did with their farm, but I remember messing with tinted glass in an airport built I have going in creative, and I didn't know you used the shard for it, but figured I'd try seeing what the crafting table said I could use it for, and by luck I had glass and it said I can use that to make tinted glass, it was all by luck, and some guessing, really happy with tinted glass
I play a seed where I spawned in an really deep revine wide in all directions and next to a geode. I think they're pretty. I wish we had more like such little things that make it interesting so dig around and look for rare structures tht are just pretty and interesting
I know, exploring and running into new things in Minecraft is what makes it so interesting! I was kind of itching to play ever since I heard they had bees.
It's amazing how helpful the allays are while mining clusters. You don't even have to think about retrieving clusters that fall out of reach. Undeads confined to one block can be protected from the sun by one block of tinted glass over their head.
I wish amethyst had more uses. I know you can now use them in armor trims but still amethyst doesn’t have a whole lot of uses. Also I wish amethyst was reverse cartable from amethyst block. It makes it a lot easier to farm than the standard way from budding amethyst. Also Also I made a new border for my nether portal from amethyst blocks and polished deep slate and it looks sick!
I wonder if the tinted glass is a reference to solarized amethyst glass! In the late 19th/early 20th centuries colorless glass was produced with manganese, but when exposed to light the glass darkened into an amethyst purple color so manganese fell out of use for making clear glass.
If the note Block, when placed on top of an Amethyst Block, was to produce a chime note instead of the piano ones, it would have been a good mood-setting block. Maybe build a small Redstone clock that runs for 10 seconds, and activates when opening the door to the 2nd storey balcony. Imagine that: going outside to see the sunrise with a calming windchime-like sound in the background.

Excellent video - concise, precise and on topic throughout. Had no idea geodes were limited to below y30 and I will be revisiting this video to perfect some farm mechanics in the future. Thank you!
There’s another use for the amethyst block! They can make sounds when triggered by adjacent sculk sensors, so you can send a signal between multiple sensors to make a wireless redstone circuit!
idea, when you try to showcase a sound like at 2:40 pls reduce the music so we can acutally hear the sound. i Like the video a lot but small things like that makes it even more enjoyable :D! Keep it up :)!
