Amazing!! Great picture! I like to see someone else stumbling around in the dark to capture a picture. Also remember it’s not the eyes looking back at you, you need to be concerned about it’s the “stick” you step on.

Thanks Jeff! Luckily it was cool enough that those "sticks" weren't an issue.

Great vlog. Thanks for showing how such trips really happen. It does take some planning, work and refinement. Nice composition. Looking forward to next videos.

It's a little closer than Big Bend, Garner state park used to have pretty dark skies, but I think it's bortal 3/4. I've been wanting to make a trip out to the Big Bend area however time just has not permitted. I watched your other video where you were flying out of hooks. I used to fly out of hooks before the tollway was there.

I'll have to check out Garner for astro...thanks for the recommendation. Yes, Hooks is a nice airport. A bit busier than I like at times and the controllers can be very frustrating....seems like they're launching 10 in trail at times. I use to fly out of EYQ and it was super efficient getting in/out of that airport.....miss it. Thanks for watching!

As the light pollution map shows, dark area under 3 level in US isn't that much. But according to your vlog I find that the enviroment here is totally acceptable. I don't know why light pollution map indicates that America nationwide was light polluted.

The western half of the US has a lot of acceptable areas (class 1) for astro. There could always be more though. Thanks for watching!
