I lived out there in the wilderness of Terlingua Ranch... about 15 miles from the paved road at the Ghost Town...and the night-time sky is a magical place!
You will not have this problem anymore with the FW v2.0 with the video recording frame!... 😉 Nice video Tom, thanks for sharing and making me jealous... 😀 Oops! I didn't see the end, I hope everything is OK.
Thanks! Yeah, I record on my iPhone and the mount I was using for it gave way. iPhone has some scratches but still works. I'm still learning the ropes for video production. Lots of fun but lots to learn. Thanks for watching all the way to the end!
Thank you for the hard work. Really enjoyed the video. I also use the Z9 primarily for bird photography here in South Florida but also own a star tracker and starting to learn about this genre of photography. Looking forward to more Astro photography content, including more tuition about star alignment process, and post processing tips. Cheers
@@TomReplogle Hi Tom. I have the Sky-Watcher Star Adventurer Pro Pack. I have been able to polar "align" the thing a couple of times where I was able to get about 90" exposures without any star trailing. The issues I have had with this thing are of my own making from inexperience with astrophotography in general. Notwithstanding, I still have been able to get a close enough alignment that gave me better pixels on my card than capturing a bunch of images to stack in the hopes of reducing noise. Thanks for following up. Have a great week.
@@josemirabal1063 There is definitely a learning curve involved with these trackers! If you're shooting with a wide angle lens, you don't have to get a super accurate alignment for great results..but as the focal length grows, your alignment needs to be spot on. I have several videos I'm going to create on astrophotography and your input is definitely helpful. Take care!
Wanted to make a request: Put on your list of TH-cam Videos to make one on "stitching" together a foreground picture with a tracked night sky Milky Way picture. I would like to understand the different elements you take into consideration for both photos and then actually seeing the editing process in Lightroom and Photoshop to end up with the final product. Thanks
You wouldn’t happen to be interested in an impromptu photo shoot to help someone who’s photographer cancelled on her honeymoon this weekend, would you?
Looks like an awesome night photography trip. Very well done compositing of the milky way to the foregrounds. Loved the final images. ❤
Thank you! Yes, it was a great trip! Looking forward to this year's trip. Thanks for watching!
We're heading down for 4th of July weekend. I can't wait to take Milky Way photos!
Awesome! Enjoy!
More than an ounce of good info for sure!!! I look forward to seeing more of your videos.
Thanks so much! I really appreciate that! More vids on the way. :)
When I saw your Patagonia hat I knew you was a explorer 👍
Lol! Yep, definitely the mark of an explorer…
Terlingua is a cool area. We were there last April. Recently we were also in Marfa and Fort Davis.
Definitely a cool place to visit...especially in the cooler months! Thanks for watching!
@@TomReplogle you're welcome

We’re from Spring! Did you experience Border Patrol on your way to Terlingua?
Hey neighbor! I’ve had to go through the checkpoint several times before on trips but this last one the checkpoint was closed. Thanks for watching!
kind of remote.
Yes it is!

Thanks for thinking of me! Where is it?
@@TomReplogle She's heading to Terlingua right now and will be there for the weekend.
@@Msinvincible1 I’m afraid by the time I could get there the honeymoon would be over. I bet there’s a local photographer nearby that could help out.
@@TomReplogle Ahh, I understand. I’ve had no luck finding any local photographers so I was trying to think outside the box. Thank you anyway!
