57:37 damn there are so many fun references in this game that it took me almost 2 entire videos to notice Spiderman web swinging on the background buildings
@@rocket_197 Yes, this one I got because was super in the face it was Kitt.. but is incredible how many references there are on both games.. those devs are really super passionate about their stuff
The little quips you thrown in while playing make this so much better. The "train the lads then train my lats" & the joke of the dad dissappearing to Graveyard Keeper were great!
Just so you know, the weird robot in carls apartment is from an old russian cartoon called "nu pagadie" or translated "well, just you wait" about a wolf and a rabbit. In one episode off the show they visit a soviet future museum, their the wolf meets a robot rabbit that starts to annoy him. After punching it the robot goes haywire and stalks the wolf like a serial killer in the exhabition until it is stoped by the real rabbit. And that killer robot was used twice in this game.
Man I love all the references. Fallout, Matrix, ATLA, and tons i'm sure I don't get. When handing over the PSPT, the repair dude actually referenced word for word one of Neo's first dialogues. Being that of supplying something to someone lol. The someone speaks. "Hallelujah! You're my savior man, my own personal Jesus Christ."
53:12 I wasn't expecting to see THAT in this game. For reference, that's a robot bunny from a Soviet era cartoon called Well, just you wait! (Ну, Погоди!) and believe me when I say that thing was the stuff of nightmares.
In any game with a vague cyberpunk feel to it, siding with the cops will literally always be the evil choice. To be honest, this game wasn't particularly subtle about it either lmao
Fun fact, at 53:20 the robot in the upper corner is a reference to an old Soviet cartoon named "Nu pogodi" which translated to "Just you wait". One of the episodes features this robot and it traumatized me as well as a bunch of other inocente children, this is probably a better PSA about taking good care of robots that Terminator.
Great timing. Your Punch Club videos inspired me to pick them up and I just finished 2 yesterday. I was screaming at you to sleep for the first half of the video 😂
While you wait for his next vid... I just dropped my first vid and it should be up your alley. Not at his quality yet, but it'll give you something with vibes to watch between Floydson drops. 👏
"It's not about how hard you hit, it's about how many times you can get punched in the face by a giant robot controlled by an evil cat in a VR world and keep reflecting the damage of his punches until he malfunctions. That's how you win." Floydson, rocking 70+ strength and hoping for the best.
I did the sensei path so it was fun to see your detective run, thank you :) I started playing these games cause I saw you playing them. I really enjoy your videos!!
Yeah. It's literally 'make a build that beats a buffed up (but limited for the fight by errors) X stat build.' a final exam for which you have every tool in the game to use, even the ones you've ignored until now.
SO MANY REFERENCES!! Asimov’s 3 Laws of Robotics, the noodle shop is like the one from Blade Runner, one of the guys he is looking for is named Philip Kindred Dick, the writer of “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep”, or it’s more commonly known movie name “Blade Runner”… God dang, I hate being the reference guy XD
I'll be watching this multiple times over the weekend, thanks Floydson! There is a portion of the background music that reminds me of Factorio as well. It throws me off every time xD
The fact that Floydson doesnt acknowledge Kazama Kiryu and Goro Majima as the Yakuza makes me so sad. But its still hilarous that most of the Yakuza in this game is straight up characters from Yakuza 🤣😊
49:03 One big reference in case someone didn't notice: Philip Kindred Dick or Philip "K" Dick is the author behind "A Scanner Darkly", "We Can Remember It for You Wholesale" aka "Total recall", "Second Variety" aka "Screamers", "The Minority Report", "Adjustment Team" aka "The Adjustment Bureau" and "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep" aka "Blade Runner" amongst MANY others. If you wanna read some classic sci-fi I recommend going through this guys stuff and then watching the movie adaptations. As a fellow Floydson fan, hopefully my vid could give you something to watch while we wait for the next Floydson vid. But yeah, I'm always hyped for a new Floydson masterpiece. 👏
Project 2501 is from the excellent Ghost in the Shell anime. Worth a watch, and a pretty deep reference there. But the one I love the most is Monk Giyatso, honestly. (Trumpet monk)

Have loved all of your videos bro, it’s made me pick up a few of these games from the channel to try myself. I also went strength build, but loved that you could use the tonus moves without repercussions in the last gauntlet. Also the fights with gold allowed you to use tonus moves without repercussions for a short while. It helped me during my D1 fights for sure. Keep up the good work man
Such a good game man hahaha, it's kinda grindy, but once you get to that "Flow state" it's actually pretty enjoyable, i heard some rumors about a Punch Club 3, but yeah, i don't think so, regardless still good games
At 53:13 its an easteregg from an russian / sovjet cartoon called: nu pagadi ( meaning wait ill catch you) its the evil robo rabbit. In an show of the cartoon the rabbit goes rouge and hunts the wolf ( normaly its the other way around) hope it helped
Hey Floydson for Punch Club 1 changing your attacks and modifiers is also very effective. A huge reason for all the variability when you were playing punch club 1 was because you weren't changing your moves around. Although it can still be a bit random still.
Theres no way Glodas isnt a reference to Glados 😂 Portal, still influencing games 14 years after its release. And then a Matrix reference straight into an MGS Comms screen reference.
