The Abominable Snowman discovered a letter that contains the Scream Extractor he accidentally stumbled upon while sorting mail being a highly, unethical machine designed for harvesting screams from human children which brought about his banishment to Himalayas.
Fun fact about this movie is that they released it years after the first because they knew that kids who watched are already going to college or in college or even for high schoolers wanting to go to college
imagine being Randall tho studying hard to graduate university only to end up working in the same position as the nepo baby sully who dropped out of collage AND cheated in the games that lowkey humiliated you (not on purpose but still) if he wasn't such a petty kidnapper I would say his disdain for mike and sully is understandable lol (plus student debt would make anyone crazy)
I love how Mike and Sully grow in this, and the message in this movie about finding a new way to be part of something you love. Also, I hope you check out "Monsters at Work."
I really enjoy this prequel to Monsters Inc. It resonates with me because I understood the struggles of Mike having to prove to the dean that he could succeed in becoming a scarer. It’s kind of a reflection of me having to prove to my superiors that I was capable of succeeding in the career I was pursuing(that’s animation btw). Monsters University is a fun film and relatable to me and I like watching it from time to time.🙂
I always respected how this movie’s message was that sometimes your dreams can’t be achieved, but it doesn’t mean you can’t live a happy and fulfilling life.
This might be a little late but: there were deleted/unfinished scenes of Mike and Sully knowing each other as little kids only for Mike’s family to move away and then they meet again in college. They weren’t put in due to time constraints. So technically, the line from the first movie is still canon.
People have basically rationalized the “Since the 4th Grade” line in the original movie as a sort of expression to mean “a long time”, like when people say “a thousand years ago” it’s an exaggeration. Obviously, when they wrote that line in the original film, they didn’t foreknow that someone would one day make a prequel, so…

Mike said, “You’ve been jealous of my good looks since the fourth grade, pal.” That joke doesn’t work if they didn’t know each other, because you can’t be jealous of someone you don’t know exists. It’s a retcon. But I’m okay with that because Monster’s University is a fun movie.
@@XShadOBabeXyeh it’s not big deal really. They obviously didn’t have this movie in mind when they thought of their backstory. It certainly makes for a more interesting movie to have them not start off as friends and their differing personalities clash
I like how even in monsters inc, you can see Mike's introverted, somewhat self-centered nature. But he fells so real because he generally wants to prioritize his own well-being, but has learned by then to suppress his own selfishness, and do what's best for others, even though he does still speak his mind quite a bit.
I LOVE Monsters University because it's the FIRST EVER PREQUEL that Pixar has ever done and I LOVE all the moments of this movie!!!! ! 🤩😁Also, I can't wait for the Moana reaction next week because use the sequel is releasing next week as well!!! 😃😄
Just imagine all the new applicants Oozma Kappa will get in the next semester after everything that's happened. They may not have won the trophy (legally that is) but they've won everybody's respect
