This is a true testimate to the skill of this technician. This is NOT a cheap repair, heart attack moments everywhere. I laugh, if it doesn't work, "start again!!!"
Every so often I come across a reason to believe again that the internet is a force for good. Thank you for sharing your insane talent and detail. Many blessings for this, thank you.
Outstanding workmanship! I could design a 3D printable gear if I had the original one for measurement. Then they could be made by 3D printing in nylon or other suitable plastic. I also wonder if you could use a tiny drill with a pin vice and drill the mode control clear plastic sub-dials one hole at a time without removing the brass center riveted hub. You could inject a drop of epoxy or UV-cement through the drilled hole with a syringe from the top if you use a sheet of Teflon slid under the mode dials. If not a replacement center brass hub could be made on a mini lathe. .
Great video! What can I do when the viewfinder is showing an “End” message, even on a new cartridge of film? This prevents the film motor from advancing. Does anyone have advice on how to fix this problem?
Very impressive! What about the electronics? I guess some parts such as capacitors and micro processors can go bad and the latter might be impossible to replace. Anyway: I'm sure this camera will work fine for another three or four decades. Awesome work!
Hey quick question , can you unscrew the front lens element without having to take apart the whole camera ? , have a little mold issue that I want to take care of, without having to go from rear element to front,
Hey man. This is absolutely amazing. I have two 1014 Xls and I believe they are suffering from the same issue. By chance do you offer repair services? Or do you know someone who repairs them?
at 5:05, would it not be more prudent to put the pins into a lathe and cut an e-clip grove, and install these with e-clips and a wavy washer?, much simpler, OR thread the pin and screw it up from the rear.
Hi, thanks for the very interesting video. I have the same camera and I have a big problem with mold that has accumulated over time inside the lens... Do you know how to disassemble the lens? Have you ever done this? Thank you for your help

You are a genius! Tailored for this. I am speechless...

amazing work! do you plan to do any servicing for these cameras? I wonder why hard to find camera parts are not just 3D printed

I have the same problem
For me it was a stuck cartridge. Look up how to fix that. But perhaps if that internal gear has a broken tooth it would throw the same “END” message.
Hey does the “end” still pop up even if the film isn’t inside?
Mine broke the second I used it after it being “tested”

Great work. Do you simply work on your own cameras only ? Or do you have a repair business?
very impressive repair
Holy crap. No wonder the 814 az is in demand...
Do you have a schematic for the canon 1014 or
814?
great video ! thank you for sharing !!
Looks like water damage, or at least, a lot of moisture.
Can you repair mine?
I am sure you can do some good business fixing those?
