- Ministry covers The Revolting Cocks' classic industrio-disco hit "No Devotion"with the lead singer of Skinny Puppy, Nivek Ogre, on vox. Its that weird! REM's current drummer Bill Reiflin is on keyboards too...its that cool!

Now when you put Nivek Orge and Jourgensen together, miracles begin to happen, they sure do.
Miracle is neither dies of an overdose. Most times.
There will never be music or style or drugz like that again
That bass line...keeps on going in my mind after the video
And Paul Barker (Lead Into Gold) is opening for Skinny Puppy in 2023!
That beat is STILL sick to this day.
What a great performance! Probably the best version of this song ever. Amazing!
I got to see Ministry at Mississippi Nights on the Landing downtown Saint Louis for the Land of Rape and Honey tour. This is the song they closed with! And of course Nevik Ogre came on stage to perform it with them, just as in this video. What great memories!!
Wax Trax Records. May the legendary label live on. Classic shit.
Damn! I'm shocked!!! God thanks for cameras!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AWESOME SONG AND BIG PIECE OF HISTORY!
This is the definitive live version of this song. Absolute ✨️ magic ✨️ is happening here.
if i could do 1 thing in my life... it would be to go back in time and deliver a shipping container full of HD camcorders to 1940.
amen a great service u would do
Why would you want to fuck around with the coolness that is clearly being displayed here. Give your head a shake.
Start at the beginning of time please
@@seanwatts3051 Don't forget to bring extra batteries...😉
OHGR! AL! BEST wax trax records 4eva! SKINNY PUPPY LIVES! ITS A REVCO WORLD 2DAY!
HAH! GAAAAY
Still here in 21...
Circa 1988 this came on the college radio, KSYM San Antonio . That moment was the perfect tune to torment my obnoxious neighbors with. My first introduction to Revolting cocks & was hooked ever since. Love this one so much.
A gift from the audio gods
I love how a random girl fan jumps onstage and dances behind Al, and he just keeps nonchalantly strumming away while security takes care of her. Of course, the fog machine had perfect timing to kick in right after said fan was removed.
Think that was Madonna
Dark magik in that intro 🧙🏼♂️
We are covering ourselves! lol
I worked there in the late 90’s when it was called Webster Hall. So awesome!
Wow! What a treat!
@raymanscape Also, some more RC facts.... "We Shall Cleanse The World" is loaded with samples from the original Charlton Heston "Omega Man" (I Am Legend was a remake of this) and "Attack Ships On Fire" is taken from Roy Batty's death speech near the end of Blade Runner. "I've seen things..... attack ships on fire off the shores of Orion..." "38" is about a number of soccer fans killed in a crush at a stadium in either England or Europe... Union Carbide "Bhopal" accident was in India.
beyond the valley of incredible!
First time I ever saw this video with Ohhhhgrrrrr
Holy Fuck!!!! This is fucking epic!!!!!
never heard Ogre do this- FUCKING GREAT
I always loved Al(ien)’s straight-ahead guitar playing.
Jarre samples and a cool bassline+drums........sweet!!!
in his new book al writes that paul is not a good bass player but he is playing bass as steady as ac/dc does
Paul Barker was a great bass player. So much of the Ministry/Revco sound of this era was based upon the rhythm section. Al was talking out of his ass in his book.
@@Caffeine_Clubwhy was he throwing shade at him ?
You got it, Bill Reiflin is on the keyboards to the right.... with the rolled up sleeves. May be playing percussion on the keys. I think that is Martin Atkins behind the drum kit. Later on they played next to each other, one on regular drums and I think Bill on electronic drums.
Probably my all time fav. Tune
man I used to fly around the dance floor to this track at Vancouvers The Luv Affair...
i thought that sounded like ogre. it's interesting going back and watching old ministry tour videos, bill reiflin was one of the first members of what we now think of as the "classic" period ministry to join, he played on the twitch tour.
The drumming on this one is so gnarly.
Excellent
Lo mejor de la música. No comercial
i have been listening to this everyday since i found this, thank you so much for posting. please please please if you have more from this show put em up!!!!
Good old times!!!

Nice song
Great cover :-))
Omg love him he nailed it wow
@roneugenius
if you mean the threatening drony sounds, those are in fact sampled from SPK (invocation)
I saw this live at the Vic in Chicago in 85 or 86 with bloodsport opening
I was there. Intense.
This is frakin' awesome!!!!!
Great show
Saludos Madrid spain
Thank you uploading this!!!!
I love u OGRE...c-moon
cynthia novo with a voice like that who wouldn't love him?
Awesome. Thanks for posting.
@j37h3r some of the weird background sample loops are also found on Zoolook, but they didn't sample it from Jarre. Both Jarre and Ministry used the Fairlight CMI and these sounds are part of the standard Fairlight sound library.
this 🙌
So high I tried talking to ogre he was in a full nod
J37h3r you absolutely rule for posting this. This is as perfect as is gets.
respect for respectable , mercy for mercyfull people! Working every day, yes !
oh and by the way: there is a recent live version of No Devotion on TH-cam, featuring... Richard 23, and it is just awesome! (live at the wax trax 33+&/3 birthday party-festival)
I have to look for it thank u
tuff idht up
Skinny Puppy's Rabies era...and Jourgensen influenced Tin Omen!
They knew no equal
The best! I was at the masqerade in ybor then.
Leo Oliver , no way, I was there too! Stationed at MacDill. Masquerade was my second home.
WOW! Thanks so much for uploading this!
I loved the musical era when they were dominant.

poetry 80/s
all al
10 yrs of my looking needing true passion and compassion life played displayed all everything but what I really mattered was ripped out for nobody but me!!! does did anyone care????
@Crimeyfied
indeed, loads of (movie)samples were used in 80ies and 90ies EBM, there even used to be a website that listed a whole lot of them (sadly that site had disappeared some years ago)
it's hard to watch 80ies Sci-Fi or horror movies without constantly recognizing samples used in songs :D
@Crimeyfied
Cool! In fact, a week or so ago i found this out as well, so i guess both Revolting Cocks as SPK came to borrow from Jarre? Unless even Jarre sampled that sound from yet another source? :)
@j37h3r It's from Zoolookoology- album first song and sped up a bit I think!
This version has more of aThrobbing Gristle / Genesis P-Orridge vibe
Ogre
I guess I better download this incase it vansishes.
I own a great copy of this video. POST THE WHOLE THING! Maybe I will. Maybe😄
Please post it
Please!
@@rblfrmthewstdwn tell me how to transfer a VHS to youtube and i will do it. Sound and everything are pristine. I have literally thousands of bootlegs from various bands. Used to be a collector and taught myself how to play guitar by watching em. Pretty decent now...,but I'll put it up if i knew how
@@rblfrmthewstdwn figured out how to do it on my PC,and make a file of a dvd then open TH-cam. I promise I will put full video on as soon as I can find DVD+RW disc at home. Cause sure as hell cant buy one, unless Targets are open. Anyway, I got you
@@zeppelinfan82you ever manage to get it online?
@Crimeyfied
SPK : Zamia lehmani is from 1985-86, jarre's song is definately first, i was just wondering if that wuuuh sound is synthmade or sampeled from some other source. (i dont mind sampling, by the way)
That's interesting -- "No Devotion" evolved into "Get Down".
Guitar bros: No one cares about live musicianship anymore!
Live musicianship: Delivers Its own eulogy 👆
@raymanscape Can't remember what year the SPK bit came out, but I think Zoolook was 83 or 84? A good two years before RC dropped Big Sexy Land. Seeing as how Jarre was always viewed as a leading innovator in Moogs, Fairlights, Korgs, etc..... I'm willing to bet the most skilled musician in the 3 different acts is him - and if i was forced to bet, my money is that he's probably being imitated by SPK and RC :)
OP if you're still around any way you'd let us in on how you have this footage?
No Devotion. No surprise there, lads.
@j37h3r I think it was this song: Jean-Michel Jarre - Wooloomooloo
ogrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreeeee!
The voice of god means nothing...any more.
We just wanted to get down.
@raymanscape Check out the JM Jarre track Wooloomooloo. Zoolook LP.... I posted to the guy who asked as well.
@j37h3r "Wooloomooloo" - Jean Michel Jarre
no secrets,no DEVOTION FOR YOU&ME>>>>>C-MOON
Thx
Please play this together at Hellfest!!!
Hopefully this happens
