    Aleks, you need to be careful sitting on a log alone in a public park. Some Texas gal will sprint by, pick you up, carry you away and Heather and Steven might never see you again. Yeah, I know you are a big man, but those Texan women are STRONG.

    I was shocked when I had to pay for public toilets in kyrgyzstan 🤣 nothing makes you appreciate home like being away from it and seeing how things work in other countries

      Hey Jamie! This surprised me too! We lived in Brussels, Belgium for several years & would take weekend road trips to cities close by (like Amsterdam, The Hague, Bonn, Cologne, etc..) & found out quickly we needed to keep a handful of $1 Euro coins to pay for bathroom stops. Once we drove from Brussels to Dresden, Berlin & Potsdam and needed a ton of coins for us & the kids! (that was a 9 day trip, about 8 hours drive each way. But having the car made things easier with kids)

    That is a really nice park..seems very large. Yes, the first spot you mentioned is a public kiosk for minor bike repairs. I could be wrong, but there's likely a bike path nearby. There's a pump for bike tires as well as sports equipment...soccer balls, basketballs, footballs, etc. The trees in the park are bare right now but I'd bet things would look awesome when they have leaves, especially in mid-October when the leaves change color. Thanks for sharing.

    Aleks you are a true delight. In the US the last couple years we've had a wee bit of emotions surrounding our political choices. It's nice to be reminded what we have accomplished, even in the small things like parks with mostly working toilets and water fountains. When I traveled to developing countries I'd kiss the ground when I returned to US soil. Also when you were walking around the picnic tables in the grass you walked by a barbeque pit in the ground. Some parks still have them but might be restricted during dry seasons due to potential fires. The park near me family gatherings cooking hotdogs and hamburgers is common on the weekends

I know that your desire to come to the USA even if just to visit for a trip was something you always wanted to do but last year there was no way how you would be able to come with no money to pay for a trip to the USA. The Immobilization was your way for you to get out of Russia finally. You have an American Heart Aleks! I know your new experiences in USA so far has been amazing. USA is not perfect country. You maybe will experience some American ways not nice or rude or strange or confusing but for most part your positive attitude and your new American supporters will help you. USA is your new home, Aleks!

    Aleks, those tables are called "Picnic Tables", and are a staple of parks and playgrounds (and schools) across the country.
    Of simple and sturdy construction they're for exactly what you used it for - visitors/families/etc to gather, have food, and good fellowship.

    Clean air and clean water is important for the health of the nation. The Clean Air and Clean Water Act is the reason why the Mississippi Riven is a beautiful blue instead of muddy brown. Aleks, you look much happier. I think the additional sunshine and cheerier surroundings is giving you some color and it definitely is good for keeping your mood up!

    The public restrooms are nasty. If you're traveling around Texas or across the state line, I beg of you to use Buc-ee's! You will thank me later. It's got the cleanest restrooms ever and it's got so many cool things in it. It's hard to describe but you have to experience it for yourself. Every Texan knows about Buc-ee's.

    It’s good you are enjoying the little things of life, a nice park, a sandwich, even a clean bathroom. Life can have its ups and downs, but if you can stay rooted in the small pleasures, it certainly helps your mental well being. That level of appreciation is something very valuable and special that will serve you well through the rest of your life. Freedom of speech is paramount, and a lot of Americans just take it for granted. Not having to worry about being arrested, poisoned or thrown out a window for having opposing political views obviously preserves your life, but it enables you to create a fulfilling, satisfying life. The energy expended on fear in repressive societies impairs creativity, intellectual advancement and trust, not just in the government but also in your neighbors. Nobody can be their best if they’re always looking over their shoulder. The United States has plenty of problems, but we do have the ability to speak up, fight for change, vote politicians out, form organizations, protest, etc. And, yes, there still is corruption and are many groups who have been persecuted unjustly, sometimes to dire consequences. But the fight for justice and equality for all is ongoing, here, and hopefully always will be, because if that ever becomes forbidden or impossible, we will have much bigger problems. Keep exploring and enjoy the best of what Houston and other areas have to offer, make good friends and relish the beauty. Appreciate it all. That’s living. Thanks for making these videos. It is fun to see this adventure through your eyes.

      Too many Americans have forgotten American history or are ignorant to it. That pleases the dictators of the World. The goal, from the beginning was to create a country that was based on the Declaration of Independence and the "self-evident truths" that everybody is created equal and that they have inalienable rights, including the right to life, the right to liberty and the right to pursue happiness. The Constitution was created as a tool to get there: "We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity". Too many Americans need to learn that. We need more American history and civics classes, not less.

    Alex, it's been a long time since I visited your channel...but I just want to welcome you to our country. There will certainly be new things you will have to get used to, but yeah I imagine you'll have more freedom here in America. I still talk to a couple of my Russian friends who are still living there. From what they tell me, it sounds like you'll be able to make more money here as well. My friend's father is a Anesthesiologist in Russia, but when she told me how much money he made I was pretty shocked. He was making less than someone working a basic factory job here. If he was doing that work here, he'd likely be quite rich by now.

    I am glad you educate the Americans who are not aware of the freedoms they have. Those of us who grew up in countries under dictatorships appreciate this country enormously.
    You will have many opportunities if you want to work hard. You can go to a local college and just take those courses that suit you, or start the first two years of a program to continue at a University. I’m glad you are here. Take care. 🥰🥰🥰

    Some of the US parks I’d been in like in jersey city in the 1990s, were good and safe. In 1996, after school at night at Lincoln park I sat on a bench and watched the sky for Hale-Bopp comet. It was a spectacular site. I wish smartphone cameras had already been available back then.
    If you find your way in New York City, my spot there has always been Bryant park during winter. It’s a small city park, but it’s close to the path train at 33rd street. But in December, Bryant park opens their ice skating rink so if you know how to ice skate, that’s one of your go-to places. Of course you have the ice rinks at Rockefeller center and Central Park which are farther away. I don’t know how safe those places are now, but back in the late 90s through 2000s, they’re beautiful, although Central Park had seen its share of nefarious events.

    Wow, to see you so fascinated with things that I have taken for granted having lived in the US all my life, I guess I should feel fortunate because I had no idea that a country like Russia with lack these things and commodities, I feel so bad that people in your country would have to pay for things like using the public restroom and such. I am so happy for you that instead of being mobilized and sent to your death, you escaped and are enjoying life here and that makes me feel really sad for anyone in Russia who wanted nothing to do with the conflict in Ukraine who have already been sent there and have been killed already and all of those who will be. Vladimir Putin is a very disgusting man for living so comfortably and sending innocent people to their death like this is some sort of game he is playing using and abusing the lives of others.

    I enjoyed this so much. I can't wait to see when you come to Florida! Key West, Disney World and ALL the adventure parks, swimming in clear aqua water at the beach in South Florida, cruising on a boat or water taxi (boat) down the Intracoastal Waterway (river) in Ft Lauderdale while stopping at all the outdoor restaurant bars with live rock bands, etc.
    Aleks, you will be transformed! 🦩🌴

      @@garyklimitchek45 I do too! He does a wonderful job with his videos. That's why I asked him if he'll be continuing or if he has other career goals. There was no ulterior motive. Just genuine interest in what he would like his future to look like. I'm not from the US but I know that he's got all the opportunities in the world there.

    Looks like I'll be the only one to sprinkle sone constructive reality in here but park areas and especially restrooms are best visited during peak family hours and don't linger lol.
