Idk if I'm counted as even half cuban but my great - grand mother immigrated from cuba and landed in miami flordia , and my grand is mother is half black half cuban , and my dad is part I guess and my grand dad is dark , and half native american , on my dads side , and I'm mixed with some other stuff on my mums side because she light skinned and my dad is darked skinned , and I'm chocolate mocha , with a red tinted with so much native american in my family , and my hair is thick and extra curly because of my mom and dads curly hair . So anyways , I'm like part cuban I think and because my dad would speak a bit of cuban to me growing up but mainly english , and mom would speak some german to me because she went to germany a few times in her childhood and life , and also I was born there and immigrated back to the united states when I was 4 , lived in washington and now texas , where there is german , japanese , regluar spanish , perutican spanish , and some others .
I’m trying to learn spanish again and I grew up in Miami and my family is from there so I’m trying to learn the slang and I stg when you said Chocha I died from laughter because the memories of my Mom and my Gram saying it just flooded back omggg
As a Spanish learner who recently travelled to Cuba, this video helped hugely. The look on the locals and hotel staff was amazing cuz they were so shocked a foreigner knew what some of these words meant and could use them in convo.
I’m Cuban and Mexican. I never knew those words for the general part. I only knew Toto and Pinga. Also thanks for teaching me more Cuban slang. I'm so glad to learn more words and expressions to communicate with my Cuban family. It's nice to feel more connected to my heritage.
