    Amazing footage! Tommy Ralston did so much to raise awareness about the Scottish Ring Net Fishing community. Absolutely loved his book, “Captains and Commanders”

      @@margaretunderwood8897 Hi Margaret, your comment intrigued me. Not sure how you made the connection with the above video and the Elizmor but delighted to hear it nevertheless. Simon Jack was a great friend of my dad as was his brother Bobby. About 1955 Simon waded into Girvan harbour (albeit at low tide) and lifted me off the deck of the Elizmor and carried me to the beach near Nobles boatyard. Simon being very tall managed it without getting wet. I have an old black and white photograph of my dad and Simon and another fisherman on board the Elizmor. Are you connected to Simon? I always found all the Jacks in Girvan to be great people.
