    I like the product, but just a year after this video was made, it now costs $749 for the 1-level, $1,049 for the 2-level, and a whopping $1,349 for the 3-level garden. That's WAAY too expensive for me.

    • @The_IndoorGardener

      Hi, no I haven’t had a chance to try Gardyn as they don’t currently ship to Canada. Personally I prefer systems where the grow base is flat like in the Rise Garden, AeroGarden or Click & Grow. Of all the systems I have tried so far the Rise Garden is my fave 100%. Hope that helps, if you do end up going with the Rise I have an affiliate link in my description that will save you some money. Hope that helps!

    This seems like a nice system, but isn’t this mainly a shelf with lights? There are many videos here on YT that cheaper LED lights that meet plant growing specifications can be pretty cheap. Seems like this could be DIYed for under the price tag here.

    I'm having the hardest time choosing between the Rise garden and Gardyn. I live in the desert and have a few small container garden projects going but between the heat and the desperate desert critters I barely get any harvest. I'll be using this inside all year so I want something I can easily rotate crops in and something that produces. The gardyn allows you to plant 30 plants at one time, which is more than the standard two tier but the rise allows more room for fruiting plants and I've heard that plants produce more in the rise ( bigger heads of lettuce, tons of siam tomatoes, etc). I would plan on using the first level for fruiting plants and the top with a bigger tray insert for lettuce and herbs. I have a family of 6 so I would like to work up to the 3 tier. I'm 5'0 so I'm a bit worried about the height.
    Are you satisfied with how much your rise produces? How many plants do your normally have going in your rise?

    • @The_IndoorGardener
      @The_IndoorGardener  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I can’t offer you any insight on the Gardyn as they currently don’t ship to Canada :( But yes I LOVE my Rise and prefer it to my AeroGarden Farm. I like the idea of a flat growing surface over the ones where the plants come out of a central point…but that comes with no experience with them so may change my mind once I get to try one. I think the spacing in the Rise is the best I have seen, most systems it is hard to use all the available spaces and not overcrowd the plants. In the fall/winter/spring I have loads in them during the summer i end up spending all my time in the outdoor garden :) If you’re worried about height you could always grab a little step stool. I am 5’3” and can reach the top of my two tier which would be the bottom of your upper try. Hope that is helpful and if you do decide to get the Rise you can use the link in the description to save $50! If you have any other questions let me know.

      I am also trying to decide between the Rise and Gardyn. I have heard the quality of the Gardyn product isn’t as good (the lid will break/stop working) and that it is much harder to clean than the Rise. I am leaning more towards the Rise.

    Hello lovely unit. Was wondering a couple of things one is taste and the second is the cost of the seed pods . Can you replace the seed pods ( medium ) for something else or do you have to use theirs. Went to the web site looks quiet expensive.

    • @The_IndoorGardener
      @The_IndoorGardener  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Rosana,
      Yes, the looks was one of the things that drew me to Rise Gardens and they back it up with function too! In terms of taste, it's a pretty subjective thing but personally I much prefer the taste of leafy greens grown hydroponically. Some people say the tomatoes don't taste as good but I also add Cal-Mag to my Aerogarden systems. I haven't tried the cal-Mag with the Rise Gardens as their nutrients are more tailored than the Aerogarden ones. I am planning to do more research on nutrients in general as well as some experiments this winter (so stay tuned for more videos on this in the future). That said NOTHING is going to rival the taste of a tomato picked on a sunny day right from the garden. Currently I have only used the Rise Gardens seed pods in the Rise Gardens. There are loads of 'hacks' on the internet about making your own pods, mostly for Aerogardens as they are more common. I haven't tried any yet, but I am planning to play around with some rockwool and leca pellets this winter. My suggestion would be to get the seedless pods as they are a bit cheaper and then you have the flexibility of growing whatever YOU want! My favourite seed store is Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds. They have a MASSIVE inventory of so many heirloom varieties from all over the world. Plus they fact that they are heirloom means you can save the seeds from them and won't need to buy them again. I have some seed saving videos on the channel.
      I really hope this helps, if you have any other questions please let me know.
      Happy growing!
      Kir
