Thank you for this tip. My husband told me to play one of the pieces I’m learning slowly. This video reiterated the concept.

Ilia, BRAVO EXCELLENT VIDEO!!!! - Playing for the people in the 'last row' - this is what my late teacher Frank Miller always said. Frank played for the 'plumbers and carpenters in the last row, not for the millionaires in the box seats' (his words). ALSO, said most importantly, "Practice as THOUGH one is playing in a hall with the orchestra. Don't practice for your 12x12 foot room....."

Thank you so much Steven! Mr. Miller was such a wise artist! Fantastic words he used! What a privilege that you studies with him!

I was just talking to my students about this today!!! You rock for making a video about it, this is so important for cello because we are a lower frequency instrument and the boom or echo in the room can be ultra deceptive, just like you talk about. Glad you are back! 🎻❤

Thank you so much! As I told you privately, I had gone through some experiences and wanted/needed to share them with you and others. One thing is what we hear when we play, but another thing is when someone else hears it, specially in a big hall! I am glad to be back! Thanks for your support! 😃

Que ótima instrução! Intuitivamente tenho usado esses mesmos princípios em estudos, exercícios e peças aplicando a liberdade de tocar, mas prestando atenção muito na entonação e digitação, mas com muita liberdade de arco, ritmo, ligados etc.
