Great advice to us as beginning cellists! (Also glad that I am NOT the only one who gets a layer of rosin on my c-bouts!). Thanks so much, Billy!! Off to practice …
So totally bang on. Just this alone has realy shown me how to extend my arm reach to continue the straight line. Using the bridge as an initial guide is a brilliant idea. Thanks.
I just love you videos. I get so frustrated with hitting two strings at once. Sometimes I hit the cello with my bow trying to get a beautiful sound on the A string, too. Thank you, Billy.
Another super helpful video. I'm an adult beginner ( I've played violin for many years) who is self-teaching (with much help from your videos and other resources) as there isn't a cello teacher in my area and I have been doing your Fingerboard Geography Workbook, filling in a page each day and it is helping me tremendously. Thank you.
The point at about 9:40 is critically important! Stopping every 2-4” to review is also helpful! It also helps to have the mirror square to the strings vs at an angle!!!
hi 😊 im 15 and i just started learning to play the cello to helo deal with my anxiety, and i just found your channel and your videos are already helpful!
So good. This helped me see I was holding the bow now like a violin bow than I thought. I keep forgetting it is upside down, so the wood is directed toward myself.
Thank you, Billy. So, it’s not just me with this affliction. When I make this error, it is usually unintentionally touching G string when playing D string. Yup, plenty irritating...
I started learning the cello almost exactly one year ago and had that problem immediately. I changed the curvature and string spacing on my inexpensive new cello's bridge and that totally solved the problem. I have been playing bowed instruments for more than 60 years, so I felt confident in doing that myself.
I am waiting for my cello to be delivered, meanwhile I am viewing your Adult Cello in 30 Days Course. When I do have the physical cello and begin to practise, is your course designed in a teaching learning sequence, like Course 1,2,3,,,etc? Please advise. Raymond Acevedo
Bow arm mechanics, definitely something I need to work on. You've done it again, this is exactly what I needed right now, thank you Billy.😊
Thanks, thanks, and thanks again! My "problem" string was the d, and following your instructions, it has already started to clear up!

The second half, especially about the elbow, was so helpful and I'm sure this will fix my issue. Thanks!

my problem is hitting adjacent strings with the left hand
I love how Billy deconstructs and explains in chunks easy to understand and apply immediately ❤🫶💯
