Exactly! I used the notification functions on my GBD-H1000 for an hour and will never use it again. Having it go off every single time you get an email was extremely annoying.
The step count and the timer is a good addition but they forgot the most important and probably the most basic feature of all. Which reminder. Something like make a beep every 30mins to remind me to stand up and move my ass
I just bought that watch and I have to tell my negative opinion of it, so people know before buying. So the main reason I bought it is because I need a watch that I don't have to charge and that I can connect to my phone so that it vibrates while I have an incoming phone call. Watching a lot of review videos of it, everyone mentioned the notifications that you can turn them all on/off, that you can turn the vibration and sound on/off. And that is ok. But no one mentioned that the vibration during a call is one very short vibration at the start of the call and THAT IS IT. There is no way you will feel it when you are in a condition where it is noisy. I thought the vibration will be continuous while my phone is ringing. No. Also the beep sound is one short beep at the start and that is it. So for me it is useless in that aspect. If there is a possibility to get a software update where they can change the duration of the vibration and maybe intensity, then I would be happy with it.

I’m interested in this watch for the display and step tracking. Not interested in the notifications and that seems to be the biggest complaint, too many notifications. I assume the step tracking still works fine even if never paired with a phone.
I just bought this and there is no hourly chime function which is the most underrated and very useful function and that kinda sucks. Thinking to return it.

This is the type of watch I would say yes. The multiply timer was pretty cool thing. I hope the vibration in the watch is strongb enought to wake me up in the morning. Casio should try neon light strip around inside the watch to display the time. The watch is smartly made, the next generation should the twin should be solar and incorporate the blue or green neon light on it.

And is the Bluetooth range long enough to walk around the house without the phone and still get the notifications? Purchased this recently and it is a nice looking watch and design but it's very small. Bands are thinner co pared to other gshocks. If it was a bit more bigger I'd give it a 10/10

Only down fall I have run into is you must sync it with the app on your phone before midnight or the activities don't get recorded, if you need heart rate use a smart ring, I use the Oura gen 3 even with my apple watch ultra and other watches since I love a good Swiss mech for most of my daily drivers. The only big downside is it's not a solar model, that way battery life wouldn't be an issue. For the price its not a bad choice. especially since its a Casio and it will take a beating.

Is the battery rechargable? For me it looks that it has some essential features that are placed in other chinese watches, like step counter, training tracking, etc But it lacks the heartbea apparently. And the notifications doesnt seem all thet funcional for me. Still it's a very beautiful and discreet watch, the looks are great, just like a DW5600. I think id enjoy using, still I think it should have heartbeat monitoring and rechargable battery to be a serious fitness tracker .

Yes. You can do that. You have just go into notification menu on the watch next press and hold disp button for couple of sec. Now you can set if you need notifications on, off or off only during running. Cheers 🙂
The pop up notification is just a generic type and subject style alert but the main body is only accessible through the menu. TBH…the notification function on this watch is more just to alert you to check your phone but it serves that purpose well without dragging you into full on message reading or call taking during your workouts. It’s not an Apple Watch after all…it’s a sports focused G-SHOCK.

whats the problem ? you can pick and choose notifications on your phone . this will mirror on the watch. for instance i dont like it beeping every 20 seconds showing android intelligence telling me what song is in the background so i disable that in the phone and it doesn't annoy me on the watch

It attempts to. But not accurately. If you want to accurately track calories burned, don’t get this watch. Like others have said, buy it if you like the looks, but not based on its features.
Can you set your workouts such that you don’t have to use the phone with the watch? I am a swimmer and need a watch that vibrates under water for me to know to switch to the next workout while swimming. All of this without a phone.
You can - You'll hold the FWD button on the Workout timer screen. You can then set the number of times that the program repeats (sets). Then you can select each of the 5 workouts to manually set the duration of each. My only complaint is that when you set it this way you can't just hold the button to increase or decrease a number (you'll have to push the up/down button repeatedly) but you can do pretty much everything without a phone. The only thing you can't do from the watch is rename the workout labels (you can do this through the phone app.)

@@lykaboss69 when you remove your watch for a shower and get back to it after it, you’d find it to be unpaired.
android app is pointless - works best with iPhone - solid connectivity all the time

It attempts to. But not accurately. If you want to accurately track calories burned, don’t get this watch. Like others have said, buy it if you like the looks, but not based on its features.
