As a newbie to your channel, I am convinced that you know your subject well, be it hunting, stalking, survival etc, It’s a real pleasure to listen to your dialogue with the understanding of your knowledge coming through. As a Christchurch boy ‘trapped’ in Oz, I really appreciate the way your presenting NZ, the way that it should be, no BS, just matter of fact information based on the sheer joy and exuberance of being in the wild places. Thanks for sharing your expertise and experience with us Justin, it’s obvious that you’re right into everything that you do and that alone brings me great pleasure as one who experienced all this many years ago. I’m converted bro. Happy trails. Mark
My man!!! hey dude thanks again Mark Wow that was an incredible comment. I just run off passion and always calling myself out on my own BS. You must miss NZ....well maybe not the weather haha

This is good way of thinking about gear and showing to other. He is not pushing his oppinion to others just sugest and that is cool. Greatings from Bosnia sir i will folow your chanel. And sry for my english if something is not correct😅. 😄🤙
Thanks so much Lance. Just came out of Fiordland and Wow what a trip, will have 2 Fiordland episodes up within a couple of weeks. Can't wait to show you.
your are way to kind thank you mega, I'm just so passionate and excited about life and the out doors. Just come out of Fiordland, can't wait to get home and start editing. Thanks so much for watching.
Just found your channel and was drawn in by your energy and enthusiasm, I love it, reminds me of .......ME lol😅. Me and my daughter just get on such a high and love being out there hunting and enjoying camp antics. Looking forward to more of your vids. Phil
MY MAN love it, how cool is this epic life. Really appreciate your comment. If I only live until 100 then I'm going to make sure I get 300-400 years of living and adventure in that time. Thanks mega for watching.
Thanks so much. This year, I went back into the stillwater and had a lot more rain. I found that I really needed to place a fly/tarp over top because the condensation get a bit much towards the end of the trip. Absolutely amazing tent to quickly put up in a Strom.
That's so cool you have a Rab tent. That little Siltrap Plus Solo was epic, next time I'll take the Siltrap Duo Plus but will push the weight up. The Rab Summit feels more like a rain jacket shaped like a tent? than a tent to keep the rain out....if that makes sense?
Awesome video brother. I’m doing a serious overhaul of my camping gear and it’s costing me thousands…but to me totally worth it. Will probably get the Rab Latok mountain 2 tent or the summit you used here. Both are designed for and used on Everest, K2 etc. Not planning on doing any 8000m peaks but after years of wasted time I want bomb proof gear that can take punishment. Cheers…
Hey Simon. This tent blows me away. The Latok Mountain looks mega roomy, looking forward to get my hands on one. Not sure if you watched the Fiordland vids yet? The Summit preformed way above expectations. Did get some condensation towards the end of a 10 day trip but for a single skinned tent wow was magic
Just came across this. You still likeing that tent? I have a simialr tent by intergal designs a company that was purchcased by RAB a number of years ago. I love it for ski touring but find it struggles with condensation in above zero temps. Definitely an excellent alpine tent with its abilty to pitch from inside in high winds and bad weather.
Hey mate, this tent blows my mind and 10 days in fiordland I expected more condensation for a single wall tent. I do wish it had a touch more head room and the vent was off to the side. The most condensation came from the vent which drips on my face. Did put a tarp over it as well.
I'm going to be running a Macpac bivy bag this Roar and a dyneema fly, going in super light and bow hunting from the pack for ten days, potentially fly in walk out
www.outfittersstore.nz/products/rab-latok-summit Hey brother, I need to be more on the ball with links. Just spent 10 days in Fiordland with this bad boy, so so good!!!! episodes up. Thanks so much for checking out vid.
The first few days it was next to zero, just a little bit on the poles. When everything started to get "Fiordland" wet then it started to build but way less than I expected. The best way I describe this tent is it's more like a mega high-end rain jacket shaped like a tent. Fiordland is the last place on earth this tent was designed for, it's more a high altitude extreme tent in colder but drier conditions....but it totally kick ass in Fiordland. Solo missions in storms can be so so hard to try and get that fly up over the tent. I lOVE THIS TENT. If ya thinking about getting one, get a hold of me before you do and I'll go over it in a bit more detail.
Bring more videos out lol thought ild let u know after speaking last time i changed my sleeping bag for a Rab 1 -22 zip is amassing nice bag not sure if it would wana be in -22 in it but im very happy with it
Hey Ricky, what a fantastic question for this sleeping bag. I'm find this bag of all bags the most roomy and on those cool nights I had to tighten it all up. The bag I use the most is the Rab Mythic Ultra 360 (only 600G) The Neutrino Pro 700 is far better for wet cold conditions with plenty of space. Just been given their new sleep mat Wow!!!!!
Be interested to see what your water filtration equipment is, as at 1kg per litre it really contributes to pack weight. I use the BeFree filter on a 1ltr flux bottle.
My bro I don't use any and have never got sick in over 35+ years hunting and exploring in NZ bush. Have drunk from wet mud and once a used wallow....don't recommend haha maybe I just lucky or just built that way?
@@JUSTWILDNZ lol I must be super unlucky..... spent three days hunting above springs junction and ended up spending 2 weeks off work shitting myself. Your response is very interesting....

Awesome video. I was weighing items the other day and noticed a 100g gas cylinder has gross Weight around 200g - do you think its best to have miltiple small 100g or fewer larger given the packaging weight and size? I also just used the msr cylinder and it seemed way faster than Jetboil can - have you experienced that?
Hey brother, must admit I just took the weight for granted as stated on the canister. I haven't found much difference between msr or Jetboil but in the negative temperatures is where it would matter. I find the smaller canister seem to burn better when low but I need to do an episode comparing 2 small vs 1 big cook time. Dude I love it thank you for the idea.
