Yes! This!! I despise those leashes exactly for that reason.
I have a standard leash. My 130lbs German Shepherd breaks the metal leash attachment. That retractable leash doesn't always work. That's where choker clain neck collars come in handy. Choker neck collars work flawlessly on free willed disobedient dogs. They learn quickly when they realize running in front of their master crushes their wind pipe.
Exactly how I ended up in the hospital. No more extendable leashes for me

If you've ever had a cat digg its claws into your arm and then hang on to you with their entire weight, you wouldn't have to ask this question. My cat once got scared by lightning and fell of my lap and . . . well lets just say my balls were the only thing it could hold onto with its claws. Had to bath my cat twice in 10 years first time was due to it rolling in shit. Second time was due to my dog puking on him. So ya sometimes your forced too but usually you don't need too

@@seanoreilly1832 Two female pups came from the same litter, mine grew up friendly and trusting of everyone. Her sister is nervous and afraid of men. The sister has had cruel treatment from the men in her owners life.
Another example: I got a young, but fully grown chihuahua from a man that would growl with distrust, whenever you tried to touch him. The guy told me, "Oh he does that. He won't bite you." Like it was normal. And yes, it continued for a time. He would even scramble away, if he thought that someone was going to sit near him. I had him for around ten years. Before he passed, he had stopped the nervous growling. He would seek me out, to sleep beside. He eventually even liked for me to place a blanket over him, when he curled up next to me. So, you see, an animals actions *does* reflect its humans, and the way that they are treating the animal. (His personalitydid a complete turn around.) When the chihuahua would scramble off of the furniture, I would place him next to me. I would reassuringly caress him, and let him know that it was okay to be next to me. And while he was the least bit near me, I would often let me hand rest on him, so he knew that I was a comfort, and not someone that was going to pick on him, nor torment him. I have more stories that I can share with you, as to why I am so sure that these dogs are reflecting their humans, and the treatment that they receive from them. I could tell you about the terrified pug that was given to me. She was awesome, and became a complete baby. And although the guy told me that she would kill other dogs, she lived happily with me and my pack. He only gave her to me because he saw how she wasn't terrified of me, after I had kept her for a week.❤
