I didn’t fully appreciate how great this song was when I first beat the game because I was still reeling from how good the story was, all through the credits… now, listening to it again on the soundtrack, I can safely call it one of my favorite songs of the year. Easily one of the best closing credits tunes in any game I’ve played.
Of course a beautiful performance by Julie, but you also gotta appreciate how versatile Damjan Mravunac is. He's been with Croteam since the first Serious Sam game and when they decided to detour from the SS games, he broadened his style.
This song is so utterly amazing and beautiful! Croteam couldn't have picked a more fitting and wonderful woman to sing the ending theme in The Talos Principle II :)
Talos Principle 2 was my GOTY 2023 and my favorite game of all time. I always knew which choice I would make in the ending, but the story made me question my beliefs quite a bit. It helped me see some of the biases and inconsistencies that I have and how to reconcile those with what I believe. Above all, the game taught me to have hope in the future, and I definitely needed that as a (then) jaded man in his mid-twenties. I was crying during the credits because this song made everything really hit home. Thank you for your work!
i liked story of the original game much more. and I had faith in humanity back then now I don't have a hope. maybe that's because I wasn't having fun with story in part 2
