"Except me, because I always look good". haha funny man. Nice trip.
Thanks mate!!! Hahahaha even if it is wishful thinking
Grew up in noosa and sailed at boreen point in high school, wonderful place
Very special part of the world

Luckily for me I look damn good in it hahahahah
How do you find the explorer spartan 3? I’m looking at purchasing one soon. Seems to have a good balance of features and weight for the price.
I really like it. I don't use it too often but for the kayak and as a "base camp" I think it's fantastic. Really easy to put up and it holds up really well in the wet. If you're hiking with it, maybe look at the 2p version but if you're happy to forego a bit of weight for extra room in it, I couldn't recommend it enough 👍🏻
@@manandhistarp brilliant thanks for the info. It’s more my wife who wants the extra room so I don’t have a say it it. I’ll just carry the weight 😂 if I go solo I’d just take a hootchie and maybe a hammock for a bit of luxury.
@@mrpinify living the life mate. Bought the tent for the exact same reason 😂
what do ya do if you need to poo and you are 5klms of shore or in a place with lots of people? I have had that problem an few times
Hahahahaha luckily I've never had that problem. I can only imagine you should hold it
@@manandhistarp had the squirts ha ha ha things that make you go hummmmmph
Adventure time with Tori and Cal next?😁
I like it 😂
Hey mate, cool video. 🤙. Found your video from the Bay Sports website. How do you find the Aquanauta XL? I'm looking to upgrade to something like that to do some kayak camping. Any major pros or cons? Cheers!
Thanks mate, really appreciate it!!!!
I love it, for camping I think it's amazing, so much room in the storage hatches and it's not the longest kayak so moving it for things like portages is easy as. I think if you're after open water crossing type paddling, probably not the go as you do sacrifice a bit due to the length but for river/creek paddling it's sensational. The only big downside is that there's no day hatch in front of you but I just use a dry bag in the cockpit and have had no dramas. Overall, I love the style and size especially in terms of storage and transportation logistics. Hope that helps mate, feel free to ask anything you like!!!
@@manandhistarp Thanks so much for replying mate, it's good to hear you rate it so highly. I had considered the lack of smaller front hatch for day trips, but what do you reckon about a good sized deck bag to go under the bungies right in front of the cockpit? Or wouldn't there be enough room under them? I'm not likely to tackle any big open water crossings, mainly river treks, so I'm keen for something this size. You mentioned in your video your back was a bit sore, was that due to the seat you think? You certainly looked like you packed a heap of gear in yours, so it's really appealing at the moment, but no good if it's not comfortable for the 15 - 20km range, I guess?
I reckon a deck bag could work really well, especially if you're only using it for the essentials. I reckon this is definitely the go for what you're looking for. This was the biggest trip I had done and hadn't really experimented with the back rest set up, I was also smashing out about 200 push ups a day at the time which I'm sure didn't help hahahaha. There are plenty of options for additional comfort as well which you can tweak like the back rest but add in foam seats that just take the edge off if you are getting a bit stiff. I have a 65L pack for when I'm hiking and I could fit all my usual stuff plus a lot of extras in the compartments. The front hatch is 80L and the back is 105L, the thing you just have to consider is that the shape of these hatches means you have to tetris your gear a bit more than a pack but there is so much room once you get your system right. Hope that helps a bit more. I can make a video review of the kayak in the next few days if that would help
@@manandhistarp Awesome, that's what I was hoping mate. I have a niggling lower back injury than rears it's head from time to time, so it's got to be comfortable in the cockpit (or at least, as you say, have the ability to add in bits and pieces of padding etc). Mate, I'd love to see a review of it, if you're up for it. There really isn't anything else on TH-cam about them other than the promo stuff from Bay Sports themselves, so that would be cool if you could. No pressure tho haha. Good on ya, legend. 🤙
Yeah that's it mate, biggest recommendation is to be warmed up before getting in it and you'll have no dramas. Stay tuned this week mate
