How to anchor a Raft in a lake (without becoming lose over time)

  • This video explains how to properly anchor a floating / swimming raft in a way that it does not become lose and float away over time.
    The problem with anchoring a raft on a chain with a single pole in the ground is that the raft will twist and turn in the wind. Over time this means that the pole (with the auger at the bottom) can eventually get untwisted out of the bottom of the lake. Eventually it will tear itself lose and the raft can float away.
    Here we explain to you how to prevent this problem with a simple solution. Instead of using a single pole as the anchor we are using two poles. The linkage between the two poles prevents the raft from continuously twisting and therefore prevents the poles from being coming out of the ground.

      I am using a pipe wrench to screw the pipe into the ground.
