Like these guys very much. I watched Eric on his range in Bethlehem Pa about a week ago filming right behind me- Im left handed- and listened to him and was like who is this dude. I was visiting from NC. Glad I stumbled into him in Pa! Also silly side note love his nostril clearing at 4:07- funny - But sophomoric aside I really like him. I think when I visit Pa again I will schedule a meet and greet lesson.
Yep. Amazing that the more the golfer squats, the farther they hit the ball...DJ, Rorry, Tiger, Champ, lose as much a 1' in the downswing. I studied and broken down their swings to the frame! This is one of the most overlooked pieces to the puzzle! I'm happy that Milo is a big advocate for the Snead squat

Gentlemen, thank you for the instruction of both upper and lower body movements. Until today I was one whose lead leg straightened immediately. I have heard other online instructors say "squat, in the downswing for more power. " I didn't understand why, so, I ignored it as a fad thing. I followed your advice and hit and compressed the ball extremely well after teaching my body what was required with many dry runs. I still need to keep drilling on the correct movements, but you have transformed my ball striking like no others. Thank you again. Do you every ever come to Colorado to teach?

Love the Milo vids - especially how he shows how the lower body ought to open into impact! I'm 75 and just cannot seem to do it. Athletic but not flexible with short backswing that leaves no time to get into the downswing squat and so on. The top of my backswing has me almost in the half-way into downswing position position and to get any clubhead speed at all I accelerate too fast to synchronize upper and lower body with release of club. Over the last 3 years I've tried many, many, drills to lengthen my backswing (always leading to miss-hits) and to not flip at the bottom, and none of the drills seem to help at all (even after many buckets of range balls).
We may learn drills to work on certain aspects of the swing but it is an athletic, full bodied motion. I've always been to stiff with my lower body. I used to trigger my lower body first with a knee bump forward but got away from it. I've gotten back to it recently with being a bit more active with my legs and it's made a big difference.
great video this has really helped me with my transition its always a bigger move for me, the move squatting down has always been difficult but this video has made it much easier for me to understand and pick up a lot of speed
Milo, in other videos you talk about the change in pressure in the feet as you swing. When the pressure moves to the front foot as the arms are completing the backswing your already starting the reflexing, correct? I ask this because I used to view the swing as two pieces, the backswing and downswing instead of what I have come to learn now that it is one fluid motion. I never would get the pressure into my front foot quick enough with that old swing thought.
Nice video both of you. A couple quick questions. In transition as left knee is rotating towards target how do you keep right knee/hip from pushing off to quickly in the downswing as you are squatting and centering. Also as you continue turning when or how is the handle of the club gonna rise as you rotate body thru.

I did this the first time today just swang a golf club like a baseball bat to get the feeling. Man I hit the ball so good nice arch control good compression and my woods and driver were great with doing what you mentioned to stop trying to hit up making the club swing left and slice or hook depending on face angles and doing it naturally the ball went so much straighter
Having watched a lot of your content Milo I know it's this lower body movement I need to learn to replace my 'hip toss' as the trigger to start my downswing. My question is this, I currently feel like I bump and rotate my left hip as fast as I can to initiate the downswing, leading to stalls and thins mainly. What 'feel' do you have if any to initiate your downswing? Would left knee out work?
If i tried to do that move with the knees compared to what I would do normally I would hit the ground at least 6inches before the ball I know its only a practice move and it's not as severe in real time motion or I would have to early extend because of the lowering move (sensation) due to a fear factor of hitting the ground too early,also I suffer from back problems and that also sends the fear factor to my thought process. Anyway another great video keep up the fantastic work 10/10.
Hey Milo and Eric. If you are able to get separation to happen naturally without thinking, it would happen when we “re flex”. Right? So after we re flex, if we’ve done it right, we have separated, so we can then go ahead and feel like we rotate everything together? If that’s correct, a good swing thought might be: sink, turn(everything together),then push? Thanks. 😀🏌️🤙🏼
It looks like your upper body has to go back to a flexed position, also, it appears, after extending in the backswing. Then, your upper body has to extend and rotate into the follow through. Is that correct?
bought into this version Sunday and was puring everything. Came back Monday and lost the feeling and couldn't make decent contact and was even s#@^&ing. Going to go back slow again on the next session and see how it goes. Not sure where it went off the rails.
chuckwalla 2 some stack and tilt principles are good some aren’t. Everything I teach is based in athletic movement from other sports and from the movements of the golf greats.
Milo, do we want to see that lead knee movement because it shows that our pressure is going forward to lead leg correctly? Its seems to be a bit of a chicken or the egg thing to me no?
You're probably too stiff with your hands still. I recently started doing this squat move correctly and you have to let the hands just do their thing. You don't really even feel them until you actually hit the ball. The ball flies off the face. In my old swing it was more arm powered and my arms always felt stiff. If you do that with the squat move you'll probably chunk the ball. It's much more of a whipping motion with the squat move. Like you're just guiding a weight with your lower body. That's my two cents...
Reflexing the lead leg on the way down causes more problems! The right leg is the only one that reflexes to keep the club on the right plane coming down
You are correct. At the top the left knee has about the same amount of flex it will have half way down. The key is it doesn’t start straightening in transition
I think Mike Malaska try to put one on Milo from golflectic about addressing the golf ball with his head tilting a bit to the right side of the ball before he hits it, Mike Malaska forgot that one of the greatest golfer Jack Nicklaus wich he recond is one of his mentors tends to tilt his head to the right side of the ball before he hits them, what that says about two golf coach on line simplicity Milo is the man Malaska sorry full b...sht nahhhhhhhh
Ok, you two are wrong!! When you get to the top, if you start with the right leg, you will cause people to go over the top! The left leg regaining flex is the first move! Look at all your examples! Stop moving forward on the downswing and getting ahead of the ball by using the left leg first!

Correct the swing is all one flowing motion.

I’m going to suggest that the wrist conditions have to be correct in coming back to the ball. If they are, much of this will happen athletically.

Landing pressure left but not all of our mass/weight. Notice my hips stay inside/on my ankles when landing.

If you reflex the knees how do you hit the ball without SMASHING the ground.
I find doing this with a tennis ball throw is easier than straight to hitting golf balls

I am trying to squat but I keep taking a huge chunk of grass. I must still be casting the club too early even though I don't think I am.

I thought the knee was a stabalizing joint. If I power my downswing with that kinda move, won't it bust my knee?
No, it will actually take stress off of the knee.
