If you spray your glittery moon (and other such things) with hairspray it doesn’t shed the same. Plus if you put your smaller tree on a box it will look a lot bigger - but hopefully your other one arrives in time! With the lights if you tuck them into the branches periodically as they cascade down then the string lights look more 3 dimensional :) Can’t wait to see the final result! Have fun decorating!

I LOVE Christmas and Christmas decor! It is my absolute favorite! 🎄 I have been known to go all out because of my slight obsession! 😊😁❤️ My main tree in the living room is a theme of gold, silver and crystal. I weave my lights into the center of the tree, up and down each branch, so the more plain, but shiny ornaments will reflect and sparkle and create depth within the branches near the trunk!
Some years I use ribbon as garland, or a meshed wire netting, sometimes beaded garland... it varies on my mood! I also add lots of pics of gold and silver twigs, leaves, curly willow, beads, berries and so forth!
You can usually find a variety of sizes and finishes in plain gold and silver balls for a reasonable price that I use as “filler” ornaments inside the branches! I put the huge ornaments at the bottom and work my way up the tree to smaller sizes. Then I tuck and distribute all the groups of the same style “more beautiful” ornaments evenly about on the outside area and move on to the next grouping of embellished/fancy groups of the same ornaments! Same rule of thumb with larger ornaments at the bottom to small ones at the top. I have several special, one off ornaments that get special positions that are highly visible.
Because of my love of the Christmas spirit, each room gets a tree... thankfully they are all different and much smaller in size and construction, otherwise I’d have to start decorating in July! 😉😊 Bedroom trees are decorated in colors that coordinate with the room’s decor, e.g. opalescent and pearl for the ivory room with pink accents, gold for the cream and gold bedroom. For the kitchen, dining room and office, they are small table top trees... some faux pine, others silver and gold metal, some resin, some large tree-shaped candles, etc. For example, I have embellished sets of wire trees up to two-feet tall in both silver and gold that coordinate with each bathroom and live on the vanities, but they could also run the length of my dining table if the mood strikes!
But every space has a tree of some sort! Most trees are simple and easy but the main tree is very elaborate and what I think is gorgeous! I can spend hours mesmerized by how the “slow-glow” mode on the lights changes the sparkle and highlights different ornaments as the lights fade on and off in random patterns! It’s soothing to the soul and all the entertainment I require! ☺️😊😁❤️🎄🎄🎄
I’ve been collecting and acquiring over several years and like to get special ornaments that hold memories. I hope you don’t feel you have to have every room outfitted like it was straight out of a magazine. You have the rest of your life to create various Christmas traditions. Some years simple and minimal, others over the top! Children may change your priorities and styles for particular rooms! Do as much or as little as you desire... or have the energy! 😉😊😁 Sometimes a wreath on the door and twinkle lights on a ficus may be just the amount of decor one might want! Do whatever suits! ❤️🎄❤️

It’s so amazing Eloise! I’ve been married for almost 14 years and we collect fridge magnet from our trips and I feel the same. This is our thing together and every time we stand in front of the fridge and look at those and remember all of the great times we’ve spent together is soooo amazing! Since me & my fiancée have been living together, we’ve bought a decoration for each holiday and to celebrate major events (getting the cats, buying our first house etc). We have a vague red/gold/green colourscheme with a natural/woodland feeling. This year we went to Edinburgh which was glorious, and we bought a little Highland Cow from a shop at the lower end of the Royal Mile.

Also, sorry to hear about the trouble with the brand you're working with. When I meet unfriendly people in work life I usually try to just kill them with kindness. I have 42 years of Christmas decorations that have been collected from travels and gifts from my parents who are no longer with us.....they are precious for that reason.....traditional Christmas colors on pretty much all of them....the boys were looking handsome.....you worked hard on the decorating!

When we lived at Corse House we had a 20 ft Christmas tree. When we moved back to Oz we had enough decorations for 5 normal trees. Just found out that 2 of my 3 children are travelling up to spend Christmas with us. We haven't seen them in 9 months. Excitement unbounded. Xxxx Hot Christmas is still a strange thing.

I was thinking about the response to your questions to the content your doing for a sponsor. They are basically threatening you, bullying you and yet their response to you suggests they are intimidated/threatened by you? You should not have to put up with it yet you don’t want to lose the sponsorship. Perhaps they don’t really know what they want? Although do you want to work with a company that is trying to treat you like that? Is that helpful? 😳
Totally agree! Although I understand this would possibly effect your income and might be an imporant sponsorship I would not put up with that kind of behavior. If this is what the brand stands for and the image they want to create for themselves I would totally sencond guess working for them in the first place.
I was thinking about this also, I hate for them to take advantage of Josie that’s unfair, & you can see how it was bothering her as well. She’s just trying her best to put out her best content and support herself. Idk but I hope she realizes that she doesn’t have to tolerate it because they are a brand. Oh I do so look forward to your vlogs Josie, Christmas decs in our household tends to be nautical and rustic to go with where we live. A galvanised bucket is used for our tree with a red ticking ribbon around it. Also tin type decorations and I’ve just purchased some fairy lights which are the same make as yours! The Starburst ones they remind me of cowslips. I would love to see a dried hydrangea garland above your fireplace! Love what you have purchased for your home particularly the baubles. You have wonderful taste and love the quirky items too! 🦋
Love all the AUTUMNAL content and getting a bit of Christmas! We do a bird/woodland themed tree. So sticks of berries and flowers, birds, pine cones, squirrels, etc. I love how natural it looks - like Santa sprinkled magic on a fir and all the woodland critters have descended on it!
When I lived in Oxfordshire, I loved Burford, despite feeling a bit out of place due to its inherent poshness. :)
One year I tried a colour-themed Christmas and ended up finding it soulless and depressing. I realised I love looking at them in magazines, but they're not for me. Since then I've fully committed to kitschy, gaudy goodness and always get a real tree as it reminds me of my childhood back in Idaho, USA.

Last year I started reorganizing my Christmas decorations. I sorted all the tree decorations by color. It worked out great. I can choose to decorate the tree by colors or bring everything out for a more traditional tree. We’ve been collecting ornaments for over forty years so this really helps! Hope this idea helps someone else. 🎄

This year I am going with a candy land theme ! Mostly making my own decorations and refashioning other ones to fit the theme!

Your choices of decorations are so lovely and I am excited to see your home all decked out, you have the knack for styling, clothes ,home decor, even the boys are going to look adorable in their sweaters. You work so hard and obviously very consciencious of quality, hopefully the brand comes around and takes your questions as they are and not treat them as an inconvenience, if not just put forth what you feel is correct,as i know they will love your quality and loving creative heart.
