Somewhere out there is a TT500 with a set of air canister forks from a YZ250. the back had an extended aluminum swingarm with Curnutt shocks. This was my dad's bike, my sister desert raced it. Some motocross also. Looking back she must have been in incredible shape. My bikes were almost stock except for a different muffler.
I do agree with you in a lot of cases. For example this ‘76 or my original ‘77. However if you want to use your bike more for off-road purposes some Mods are necessary. But I still love an original

I used to use my 77 XT500 in the beach races, I got dragged of by CR 500's but it was great fun for powering drift slides coming out of the corner

I prefer to keep the XT in original state - but thx for infos about some possible options!
He recommends all those mods, but hasn't done them to his bike. LOL!

Does someone make a kit to make a tt500 street legal ?
@@jamespolucha8790 there is a lighting kit from KEDO with loom and ll the lights
I wish the electric start kit was more affordable. $1500 USD for an electric start is insanely pricy.
Yep, it’s that they’re the only one… a new bike is more expensive though
