Some of the worst markers I've had are the cheap ones with the foam tips where they'd snap in half if you'd push down too hard. And you'd always bend those tips because they were always dry, so you would try to push down to get more ink onto the paper. The barrels were really small (I think about a centimeter?) and the caps were the same color as the barrel. I did not intend to write as much as I did about a damn marker but I did.
I can smell this video. I would lose the crayons and find them weeks later by stepping on them. The markers would dry out, the patels were remolded crayons, and the scissors didnt cut

Kasey can you do the white crayon watercolor “challenge” it is where you use the white crayon on the paper (or a oil pastel) then put watercolor on top of it and it looks like white line art
I got one every year for Christmas. One year I used the water colors to paint rocks and sell them as Easter eggs for Easter. They were chalky and ugly and barely tinted with color but all the neighbors bought them when I went around because I was like 8. Made $12!
I love love love how this turned out! I was worried you were going to use the barely viable paper the kit came with, but was glad you went with a paper that could handle all the multi-media materials you could throw at it

I drew an icy mountain with oil pastels and never finished it. Now, I decided to draw a simple picture with them (a character, I'm bad with landscapes) because worked on a contest entry for around 20 days and got tired of my regular art supplies (colored pencils). I'm a complete noob and figured out some techniques on my own and HOLY ART GODS IS THE BLENDING AMAZING. Not only that, it's easy to use them and you can even get some smaller details if you put down a layer (prefferably 2 because then it's just solid color) and clean up all the "dust" on a lighter/darker color with a paper towel so it won't get in the way. The lines are thin and smooth if you do that. I think the best thing to do when blending is to treat them like paint in a crayon, so something in between thick paint and a regular colored pencil. And I learned all of that from drawing a mountain and a part of Sonic the Hedgehog's face. They're extremely easy to figure out, I'm honestly shocked and I had to write about it somewhere.
my mom once told me that if I use the watercolour once, it will spoil and I cannot use it again, then I didn't use until I knew what was watercolour ;-;

thankfully I've looked around and I've noticed that there are some decent kids art supplies like this that are pretty decent...at least I would hope so as I've seen one that prismacolor made.
The reason imo is that when you're not great at art you don't want to waste expensive materials. That's why there's student grade and professional grade art supplies. It's not that kids don't care, it's that it's not beneficial to be using high quality expensive supplies until you know what you're doing.

If you want to test out some decent oil pastels, honestly Crayola’s are pretty good
