I just learned flips last weekend (the wildcat way). I find it way easier than 360’s. In fact I’ve probably never stomped a proper front 360 where as I can backflip almost every try on the right jump. My recommendation is to send it into soft snow or powder, off a steep lip. My friends and I built one in 10 minutes. Then just send it, if you commit the trick does itself. I can’t wait to learn your barrel roll variation next time I’m on the mountain.
Done flips on trampolines my whole life and going snowboarding tomorrow for the first time other than a tiny hill I messed around on for 10 min when I was young and after this I’m convinced to give it a try and full send it
@@ShredSchool1 just got back from shredding today, and now I have learned how to backflip off of a Medium jump. I’ve also started doing Melon grabs with it!
Headed to Winter Park Colorado Friday. Haven’t been on a board in over 10 years. Even then I never even tried a backflip. I’m going for it damnit!!! This video hyped me up!!! Thanks 🙏
@@ShredSchool1 Trampoline is not possible but I have experience with medium and big jumps. So I’m comfortable, Also, I still flip off things like walls and cars so between that and watching the vid, I’m confident. Thanks
Yo! Just found this vid! Super helpful man. For years I've been trying to learn to flip, I've only ever been able to huck into powder a half rodeo. Gonna def keep trying with these tips this winter 🤙
Sooo I have been able to land 1 front 360 and I’ve been boarding for 4 years. I can do a laid out back flip on a trampoline board and I’m departing on trying to throw one of these this year.
I would try to wait for a soft spring day when everything is melting and it will be a little softer. Or, if you get one or two big snows a year. First try on to ice is risky
I dont know single of this tricks, but i done backflip on my feet on flat ground 10 years ago, didnt practice for long but I know basics of backfliping. Can I practice backflip on snowboard without these 180 360 and other tricks ?
So I live in the Midwest where the snow is DENSE most of the time and there aren’t any powder days BUT I can do a backflip and side flip on flat ground in the summer and I’ve been practicing doing backflips sideways off a platform so… should I go for it?
Sometimes it's better to build your own. You can see one of the jumps here is a snowplow pile from a parking lot with a hill next to it. Just need enough air to get it around, it doesn't have to be big but helps if the transition does part of the flip for you
Anyone know a good spot at keystone to practice? I'd rather get the feel for it on some pow like he does in the video as opposed to heading over to Area 51 lmao
Ed Shreds I just built a jump in my yard and I’m looking to throw down my first one today I got the the tame dog down and front side and backside 360 so I’m just watching as much videos as I can
This is so encouragong. After the first 3 minutes i already was convinced, that i should d backflip 😂😂
I think you got it
Tape up your board and try it on the tramp
@@lazerbeamlightningstorm5844 yep
Me too. The problem is that I chose the wrong period to convince myself. In fact here in Italy we can't go skiing or snowboarding😔
@Martin did you survive ? 😀
This dude has so much confidence in me. I believe I can backflip rn and I haven’t even ever tried it before
you learning into that pile of leaves was savage
leaves are the poor man's foam pit
Tbh how i did it on ground

I know the perfect side hit at my local mountain to safely attempt a front flip first. You’ve inspired me.
How I wish we had the amount of snow to try that trick. I love backflips, never was brave enough to try it. It's a bucket list trick for me
even laid out backflips on a trampoline are extremely satisfying. This trick must feel amazing on a snowboard
Exactly!
Oh God cool boarders takes me back. I can still hear it along with Uep systems or something on the logo screen
Yes!!
i learned to backflip on new years eve, i am so stoked to try it on the hill! thank you for all the good content and the help!

Desert Expeditions same
I think I will too famlit!
I'm from central Pennsylvania and I go to tussy quite a bit . I'd love to learn to backflip , this video might help me.
Tussey rocks
love the old home videos
Sick video I just landed my first one on my channel finally!
that's awesome!!
I am not a backflip guy, but i remember my first landed backflip. it was one of my proudest moment in snowboard
It's a milestone in every shredder's life
Finally got the balls to go for it yesterday and it was a little messy but landed it first try!! So hype
bro, i heavily respect your knowledge in the SSX franchise and cool boarders...

Get some trampoline practice in and you got it
I would love to try this but on the east coast the snow is always so hard. It feels like a gym floor. We have about one or two powder days a season
The trick on the east coast is to find the big piles of snow from the snowblowers and carve a jump in to it
youuu thanks alot bro i did it mann i am sooooo happy
That is epic!!
thank you, i will try ^.^

3 years later, still haven’t landed. Threw like 10 today. Not sure why I’m adding a 180 onto it to get an accidental underflip
Thank you so much, your the best
You are!
I've hit 180s but I have yet to try any 360s am I crazy wanting to attempt a backflip this weekend?!
great video, thanks!
Bruh you the man

The code of conduct at my local resort says no inverted aerials. Does that mean backflips aren't allowed?
I know how to backflip on flat land, but where i live, the snow is mostly ice, should I still go for it?

Yeah just find a slushy day when it's above freezing and the snow is a bit soft and you got this
The skateboard thing is genius😂
We definitely got creative with the limited snow on the east coast
SEND IT
Lay it out!
The thing I have a hard time with is trying to find the right jump, how big does it really need to be, any suggestions?

Dude thats nuts. I lived 25 mins from tussey
Tussey for life! That's awesome
Me who knows how to backflip on concrete. But is terrified to do it while moving forward off a ramp 🤣
I wanna try one cause tbh I think it’s easier than on tramp and I cant do it on a tramp lol
love the enthusiasm but I would get it on a tramp first. It's the exact same motion and a trampoline hurts less than a park jump landing 😁
@@ShredSchool1 ya but I can never commit on trampolines

Commenting from the grave
Why haven’t I watched it 20 years ago when I was starting snowboarding. Now I’m afraid it’s too late to learn backflips
isnt that a barrel roll?
I didn't know it was the "easiest trick in snowboard" xD
Whats the easiest kind of backflip? Ps 6years late
hi
hi
A backflip is very simple but first you have to learn to SIDEFLIP OHHH GO CHECK OUT MY TUTORIAL ON THATTT
I thought a backflip was a wild cat, not a back-barrel roll.
Come on ...
Get your shit together man!
Tunes ForToons wild cats are like cheap backflips... they don’t count and they don’t look as cool
man i'm sitting here watching trick tutorials, trying to imagine them in goofy and my mind just won't let me :( sadlife for the goofy noobs
We have goofy versions inside www.edshreds.com

So sketched out still
Get those reps in on a trampoline
