Whew been a minute since I commented huh 😅 I haven't been watching many TH-cam videos lately so I have a bit of a backlog of your videos (among others too). But good in depth demonstration and explanation of cleaning the violin. I hadn't thought to remove my chinrest while cleaning so I'm going to have to do a thorough cleaning on mine soon. Hope you're doing well!
Good video. May be overdoing it, but do a quick wipe down of my violin after each playing. For the violin strings, do you recommend an occasional use off string cleaner or alcohol? (Carefully to avoid contact with varnished areas)
How often do you do that super though cleaning? I noticed you changed your strings 😊. Are those Jargar Evoke? Looking forward to a string review and how they compare with others.
Would you recommend using a high quality fretboard butter on the ebony fingerboard? Why don’t some fiddlers clean the rosin dust off of their violin top? It seems kinda lazy. And is there anything wrong with using canned air to blow dust out of the inside?
When playing your bow, there is excess rosin that flies off the bow hair. You’re essentially cleaning off any rosin that is covering up the pores of the wood. That will be open the vibrations of your instrument and therefore sound better than before.

I do the same. I don’t recommend string cleaners. They don’t work well.
I just pressure wash mine while I'm doing the car and cat. Works just fine. 🤣😎

I’m testing the evoke right now, stay tuned ;-) I don’t do a super clean like this often, once or twice a year when it’s noticeable

Oh! You're testing the Jargar Evoke Strings? Can't wait for that video :P
Stay tuned!
Can you also explain how cleaning the violin will affect the sound? Especially with the use of the varnish cleanet

I tried clicking on the practice guide in the description and the link sends me to an error 404 page. May you please update the link, thanks.
What if I just want to clean the neck??
How does skin end up on your strings ? Are your strings fingers eaters ? 🧛♂️
Mostly for violinists who don’t wash their hands before they play and accumulate dirt in combination with dead skin cells
@@erictheviolinist thanks for the clarification I have never heard anything about that before
@@jonhh6918you got it! 😊
