I think that Hugh is doing the stage version and Luke is doing the movie version, that's why Luke's performance seems more subtle. Also, they're so hot! If like to see them both in a movie together.

He was amazing in “Rocketman”. Elton had him do all the singing instead of just dubbing. He cared more about Taron replicating the emotion than the voice. And they’ve become best friends. Still think he deserved an Oscar nomination, but it was released mid year and I think it was the same year “Bohemian Rhapsody” was released.

I technically should be dead right now (even though I’m only 31 now - as I’m born January 25th - and 28 back then) because I suffered from undiagnosed PTSD from an incident that occurred in October 2017, and the anxiety robbed me of my appetite - so in 10 months I went from 300 lbs to just barely 140 lbs (and so weak I could barely feed myself and couldn’t write), and unfortunately it caused my mom to find me unresponsive (didn’t wake for nearly 23 hours and didn’t stay awake long) because I had gone into liver failure from malnutrition, and then went into respiratory failure. I was hallucinating and delusional for the first 2.5 (of 7) weeks and lost all track of time even after the delusions stopped. Being hospitalized for so long I got bored of what was on TV and the movie library of my private hospital, so I watched a bunch of stuff on TH-cam. But it seems the latter half of 2018, even after I got to go home, I don’t remember quite well...
@@arthurdamato2668 Given I had a 40% of surviving - and that was BEFORE the respiratory failure (my oxygen saturation in my blood was at 82% and critical is around 88/89 %) - even some of the doctors admitted they wrote me off as dead because of lab numbers. I’m just upset I missed so many movies and all because of the health problems, and so my knowledge of popular culture was quite a bit behind in 2018 and 2019. Never go into respiratory failure - I had to wear a full mask of oxygen and it feels like drowning because air is being forced into lungs that don’t want to expand. It drove me crazy, and it didn’t help I was delusional at the same time. But spending 4 weeks in the private hospital wasn’t too bad, especially since no one shares rooms, it’s the size of (and even bigger than some hotel rooms), and you have a giant flat screen TV to watch. It would have been much more miserable elsewhere - the rehab place I was at for 3 weeks made me want to tear my hair out though. Worst thing had to be giving up gluten and rice for about 6 months (I adore sushi) because it ran the risk of clogging my feeding tube, and they made it clear that I was so weak I probably wouldn’t have made it long enough on the OR table for them to clear out the food.
Well, to be fair, Hugh has also done a hell of a lot of other Broadway shows since then (Oklahoma, The Boy From Oz and Les Miserables to name a few) so I will give him a free pass for not remembering the lyrics for every one of the vast library of songs he's done, while only a few months had passed for Luke. (Having said that, I can remember seeing Shirley MacLaine's one-woman show and she was able to remember every song from every movie she'd ever been in - audience members were firing song titles at her and she'd sing them without hesitation. But she's a freak of nature.)

Hugh actually played Gaston in Beauty and the Beast here in Melbourne = saw him in Sunset Boulevard at The Regent too. He is definitely a stage and theatre actor.

I mean, the other three are professional singers while she's a comedian, and I got the impression she was dragged into it as none of them knew there was going to be an impromptu sing-off. Obviously she knew she was no singer so decided to go with being the comic relief and deliberately sing as off-key as possible.

I wasn't very excited for Maleficent and Cinderella but I liked one and really liked the other respectively, and I'm kinda excited for Jungle Book, it looks pretty cool. But my god am I so excited for Beauty and the Beast, it has an insanely stellar cast and the fact that they're doing it as a musical makes me so happy. It would've been so rad if Jackman was Gaston but Luke Evans actually seems like he'll nail it. Can't wait!

I wasn't very excited for Maleficent and Cinderella but I liked one and really liked the other respectively, and I'm kinda excited for Jungle Book, it looks pretty cool. But my god am I so excited for Beauty and the Beast, it has an insanely stellar cast and the fact that they're doing it as a musical makes me so happy. It would've been so rad if Jackman was Gaston but Luke Evans actually seems like he'll nail it. Can't wait!

Taron Hugh and Luke need to do everything together from now on. They're AMAZING.
I would've preferred Jackman as Gaston, his voice is more deeply masculine and fits the animated guy more. But Disney does have its magic.
They both has beautiful voices, but actually Luke's voice is more deeply masculine and he has bigger vocal range, I think. I'm judging not only on this performance.
