The only part I agree over this from WordPress is that things like ACF should have been built in and not a commercial addon, but to do it this way and this fast…is just greedynes
Matt declared a nuclear war with WP engine and i just this just part of that. However it also proves that the highly requested ACF features have now found a "home" in the WP core
sure no, if someone is greedy enough to just take advantage of opensource and never give back like 'wp-engine', no thanks i will stick to wp-plugin store version
@@akusworld5117he went against his own rules.. While the GPL and it's compatible licenses allow for forking, we have an 'above and beyond' rule for hosting here, that means your plugin must be a substantial change of the original. We do not allow direct copies of other plugins to be re-listed under somebody else's name, we allow changed forks.Aug 26, 2015
thanks bro!
thank you

hi, is it a free plugin know ?
i answer myself, this great a native custum content type field and taxonomy
The premium features are gone? Or are they free now?
The "fork" is the free version of ACF.
I wonder what the future holds for this battle. Mhan, I feel like this is going to affect the future of developers contributing to the platform.
Community is divided but soon the dust will settle, hopefully.
Great
The title is misleading. ACF is the codebase for SCF, but it is now controlled by WP and Matt, and no longer receives updates from ACF.
Misleading title? Do you mean to say that going forward SCF and ACF are the same plugins? Will they have the same development timeline / features?

The forking just brought up too much confusion for the ACF users me inclusive.
@@GoTechUG well., stop sponsoring opensource abusers :D
I just think Matt is being greedy now
by making it free? LOL
