The moment I saw a dog in the background I was planning on commenting "please show more dog", but I'm very happy to announce that I don't need to.

As a whippet owner, thumb's up for the greyhound! Thanks a bunch for that video! I am an architect and these kind of small details in renders is what my boss don't get! To him it takes too much time for no result. I am curious to check a future video in which you'll show some tips and tricks to obtain a good result in a quick way ;)

I know how you feel, I have the same thing, but here’s a pro tip: You don’t tell him that, just do it! :D

imperfection. Please make a tutorial on how to make imperfections in tiles or parquet flooring, how they are not 100% lied or slightly tiled. And imperfections of reflections. etc, tia.

Great video! I’ve thought about these errors before, but I haven’t tried replicating them in my renders because they seemed like too much work. However, it’s true they are a great way to notice if it’s a render.
I suppose what we’re looking for are exactly the things that we don’t want clients to notice when we have to send different furniture and finishes for manufacturing and installation.
To keep it short, the issues always revolve around edges, joints, unions, and corners. For example, when installing marble, there are specific measures, and if your piece exceeds them or needs an angle, the resin should be visible, whether it’s at 90, 45 or any other degrees. We usually try to minimize these details with the contractor, but they become noticeable if you inspect closely.
The first concern is the resin, followed by the sanitary sealant visible on all edges in marble installations when they have contact.
With melamine, you should see the edge banding union seal since it’s simply glued, and variations matter when they’re in constant contact.
If you look closely, you’ll notice sealants everywhere, whether it’s on windows, doors, etc. I never see sealants in renders, yet it depends entirely on the material.
For instance, with wood, you should see larger gaps due to its movement, unlike other non organic materials that behave differently or move less.
Now, I do understand these depends on the kind of project, since some of these details will mean more geometry.
There are many details I haven’t mentioned, but since this comment is quite lengthy, I’ll stop here. Again, Thanks for the video!

I was adding sealant to bathroom stuff, and to be honest, after I did it, I never had that feeling that it's a nice detail, because it never looked "special"
But on the other hand, when I would see a render that doesn't have it, I would notice it, the confusing part is I didn't notice it as a mistake, just as a "oh it doesn't have a sealant"
So I have mixed opinions if it's good or not... I mean... if it's there IRL, it must be good, right? :D

For closeup shots, the blur usually tells if it’s fake or real. I would love to hear your opinion about depth of field realism in a video.

For rendering small objects, or small details, bigger DOF is a huge part in perceiving stuff as small, but it's not the only factor that makes things small or not, I made a tutorial on how corners affect the perception of object being small or not
