Ursis Prime was the first iteration of Beastman created by Mark Taylor back in the 80s. This version was just a huge bear, that wasn't used due to its allegedly resemblance to Chewbacca. Ursis' chest armor consisted of huge spikes and a human skull at the center. So, why do I bring this into our attention? If we take a careful look at the Beastman New Eternia figure, we would notice that he wears the same chest armor as Ursis, a fur with Ursis colors, and a helmet that is the very head of a bear. Guys, Beastman New Eternia is a combination of both the original and the known versions of Mark Taylor's Beastman. I'm fascinated by the background MOTU story behind this iteration: Beastman killed Ursis Prime after a long duel that almost took his life. As a result, Beastman decided to wear Ursis corpse as a symbol of his skills in combat and as a reminder of his power. This is really cool!!!
I've gone back and forth on this one. I loved the first pics I saw, then when I saw it in the store it didn't impress me as much. Now your video has me wanting it again. I didn't realise it was so big in comparison to the standard Revelations Beasty.
Not gonna lie, most of the figures you review I don't really know anything about (I'm more of a video game/Godzilla collector). But you have such a calm, easy to listen to voice that I click on every video regardless.
For the chest paint removal, try 91% alcohol, it's what I used to get rid of a lot of the battle damage paint on some recent Transformers. The only thing on this figure that bugs me is the dishtowel with that stupid pattern hanging over his loincloth. It's just over designed for zero reason.
Jared, he is a beast of a man😉 I am not a MOTU completest but I picked him up immediately. He checked off so many boxes. The neck gap and weird chest wash bother me more then the blue teeth. The same color is used for the face markings so he does not look like he forgot to brush his teeth after eating blueberries to me. A worthy addition to most folks shelf. 👍✌️
It comes off. The furry armor is in multiple pieces that can be separated after warming it up with a hair dryer. Remove the pieces, remove the fur, and there ya go. For extra fun try him with the armor piece from the 2002 version of Beast Man. Looks great.
The bear skin hat thing looks good with the classic style armor. Looks like you didn't try this; I recommend giving it a shot. On my unit, it looks like they forgot to apply the dark wash on the headdress, so I gave it a light black wash and again, it looks really good with the classic armor.
Beast Man is my favorite MOTU character and I'm pretty happy with this figure other than the two things you mentioned. The only other thing i don't like is how disjointed the elbows look because of the articulation. Im pretty sure the hands are shared between the Revelations Beast Man and the New Eternia version. They fit with the new figure but are much too big for the first one.
I dont know if you mentioned in your video where you picked him up, but how did you get him so early I do not even see him available on BBTS yet. I passed on the masterverse Beastman just for the hope to pick up this version as I think it is the superior of the two.
This figure is awesome! Like you said, a few details here and there that could've been executed better, but by no means are a detriment to this figure. On a side note, I'm wondering if maybe using a sanding sponge of 600 grid or so might do the trick to take some of that heavy brown in the torso. I still haven't got mine in hand yet, but I will definitely will try that one.
At least your torso looks relatively like the limbs. My beasts mans torso is much much lighter brown than the limbs. And his shoulder joins scare me. They appear thin and fragile.

Such a wobbly figure! What a bummer

I can't remember who I saw post it, but somebody used Winsor & Newton brush cleaner or varnish remover for a less harsh paint wash removal.
savage he-man should have been big like this too.

Arms are killing it for me. That elbow makes them look like a string of sausages.
This is the ultimate modern version of Beast man 😎👍
Not a big collector, but, this will be my next purchase he just looks awesome
Got mine today, from Target
I love this that I bought two just to possed him in both versions.
I was out on him with all that fufu fur but when you showed him with just the armor I'm all in. Great vid

Hi Toy Bro, I can't find it on BBTS.
Use testors brush cleaner or enamel thinner.
This beast man looks so much better and true classic have so much potential over revelation beastman figure

I’ve seen this figure at like 5 different Targets in the last couple weeks. I’m in North Carolina.
@@joeypaschal958 Im in Canada and he is no where to be seen here.

Did you try that? Wonder if repainting the figure would do

What wolverine is that?
Look good okay God bless. Love Dwight 👍
Is this target exclusive?
Curious, do his alternate parts fit on the other smaller Beast Man from Revelations?
Watch The Man Child channels review. He does just that, only person I’ve really see do it.
Are the two teela figures from revelations heads interchangeable?
@@Lacaframalama that sounds great
@@Lacaframalama Thank you!
is this a heavy figure?
I want this so bad!!! Where can i buy it??
It's a Target exclusive. Slowly popping up at Target's throughout the US.
@@sdaeley17 it's not at my target
@@QTcomicsPOP Bollocks! It took a couple weeks for it to appear at mine from when they started popping up, I hope they turn up at yours soon!
@@sdaeley17 me too
the best beastman so far it beats the motu one
That pose with him on the turntable looks great at the end.
16:34 toybro sounds like porky pig baleet baleet that's all folks
That is one ugly disproportionate figure. And that articulation makes it look like an early 2000s ToyBiz Marvel Legends figure.
