I currently drive the 2.0 Ex - 2012, since 2019. A few points:
1. About the alternator, I would specifically say it's not the culprit for everytime the battery sign lights up. I was plagued by this issue for about 2years since 2020 and after testing the alternator electrically, it was discovered not to be the issue. Eventually got the battery light to go off after a thorough brushing of all terminal contacts around the chasis, battery and engine. The light went off and for a year now, it has not ever come up.
2. I can agree the ride height is very low. You need to drive carefully around bad roads and speed ramps.
3. The AC is solid. However, I had to change the evaporator after 3years of using the car. My camry for 5years never had 1 issue with cooling.
4. About the battery drainage, when mine happened, I discovered its the GPS module that was draining the battery. Took it out and it never drained again.
5. Shocks are a plague. Don't even bother, just save money to buy new shocks every 6months if you are the type that likes your sanity while driving.
6. Coils, well only recently did i have a misfire for the first time in almost 4 years. I typically change plugs, service injector parts during my general service. This time was the coil. Once in 4yrs isn't bad.
Overall, I would recommend this car any time any day. This is from someone who has driven a v6 Camry XLE as a daily driver for 5yrs.

My very first car I got in 2016. ❤. It served me well. Loved it. Did third mainland bridge in 4 mins 45 seconds at about 165/170km/ hour back then 🙈. I won’t do it again sha. Now I’ve moved to a CRV 2013. Cos of Nigerian roads. Team Honda all the way 🥳

The AC is magnificent, just fuse problem and that it.
However for the sear issue. The driver seat are adjustable depending on the trim you drive
U guys should do a comparison btwn evil spirit and Camry muscle
I use the v6 full option, I can relatively say I have changed the alternator 2times in 2 years of use, and also not expensive to maintain in it class.

I've used a baby boy, DC, and now this. One thing common with all of them is problematic ACs, and the Spirit isn't as rugged as it's predecessors, but I'll say it's functional, reliable, and easy to maintain as stated. Great job guys.
For where bro why will you compare baby boy to evil spirit stop it,it's way different,I'm currently using evil spirit 2.0 very rugged,inshort I prefer under to Toyota in terms of engine and maintainance

Hondas are not Juke box on wheels. Toyotas are vehicular appliances. They. Just. Work.
Toyota is very conservative in its engineering as well as its application of ‘the Toyota way’ in manufacturing.
Buying a vehicle is very much personal. Not everyone wants a Toyota, I love em, but I currently own two Hondas. I’ve been driving Hondas most of my life. They are like Toyotas in that they are very reliable, but IMO they have a bit more pep in them than the comparable Toyota.
“PEP” is the word! They just have a little bit more than reliability that keeps you stuck
I have had the ex-l 4 plug 2010 model for 2 years and no issues at all, no leg issues, no a/c issues and nothing at all. its a joy to drive and the acceleration is bay. i would recommend it to anyone, anyday and anytime and current price is more than 4million naira unless u r buying nigerian used

Omo that VCM for the V6 kills the engine...i recommend if you want to get the V6, slso get a VCM disabler kit, it helps to deactivate the VCM...If not, you will start having engine issues which i am currently going through now...i have to change major things in the engine crank shaft, piston etc...

I love this car...it just gives a kind of rep to the driver if properly maintained. I like the metallic black ,grey or deep blue colours definitely not white. I hope I can get one this year.

The car is very comfy. You can actually raise the driver's seat. There is a long knob by the side, just lift.
There are enough buttons for the seat, my 2009 vcm has button to push seat up and down, lean back and inflate and deflate the back rest too ..
Please Can you do a review of the Honda iRobot with it’s pros and cons. I believe it’s being purchased too well presently. I’d like to know why that is and what to look out for when getting one.
Furthermore I will advise viewers to go for the refreshed upgraded model ie 2011 and 2012..all the issues of the earlier years av been corrected..the upgraded model also has excellent fuel economy 33mpg on the highway

I was looking for this comment. The EX-L has an adjustable driver seat. It has lumbar support, height adjustment and the conventional forward-backward adjustment.
On my 2012 V6 you could adjust the seats, it even had programmable seating positions
Mine is LX, but still has leather seats, adjustable driver seat and a reverse camera, all factory-fitted.
Was told its a special LX

If you have all these factory fitted, then your trim isn’t LX. That’s all the features of the EX-L which is the top trim.

I drove the 2011 Ex-l. Had serious fuel economy issues, and the car vibrates on D when its stationed. Work on both issues several time but they just got worse. The problem with Honda’s in Nigeria is mechanics, many of them dont know how to fix them, especially from 08 upwards
Change your Engine seats. I was having the same issues and I watched a video on TH-cam where Honda themselves stated that the cause of the vibration was the engine seat. I recently changed mine and it has been great.

I found out K Shaft is an issue with this car after a period of time, When I started noticing some cranking noise in my Top cyclinder, I googled and found out
I really enjoyed my time using this car, the engine and transmission was very smooth and it was a joy to drive. I had the ex-l with leather seats, I liked the automatic lights and the infotainment. I was beginning to have engine issues, that’s why I sold it but one thing is definitely for sure, I will buy this car again. Hopefully the 2017 model.

V6 engines are more rugged and faces hard times than 4 plugs. 4plugs are designed for easy drives with lower fuel consumptions, aside that 4 plugs have no edge over a V6. You rarely find a V6 with issues as much as you find a V4 everywhere with smokey rings issues or higher oil consumption or burning rate.

Honda Accord is a dependable car, I drive a Honda Accord and will drive it for at least the next five years
I drove the 2012 V6 model for almost a year, it didn't have any issue, I loved the car, it's very fast, quick acceleration, the only issue I have with the car is that the brakes don't stop as fast as I expected a car with quick acceleration to stop as you have on a Benz.
On my car, you could adjust the seats up and down, it even had programmable seating positions, it also came with factory fitted reverse camera and 6 loader CD player.
This car does not have cylinder deactivation

Everything he said was correct except for the shock. The can has one of the best shock. I used it for 4 years without having any reasons to change the shock.

Honda has one of the best shocks . The shocks don't go bad easily , when compared to Toyota. Maybe he's referring to bushing .

I think I heard you say there is no rail adjustment for the driver seat ... You are wrong bro, there is rail adjustment, and there is a power seat adjustment too. I just bought the 2008 LX version. It can move front, back, sink in, and move up as well ... The back rest can fold just to make you feel comfortable while driving
I just got mine too, 2011 model. Can you comment on the shocks and driving experience.... Do u hear much noise when driving on rough roads from the interior parts?... how bout when it's raining, do u experience water sipping through the front doors around the roof?
I actually drive one of this, the EX-L variant. You can actually take turns at certain speeds IF your vehicle comes with VSA (Vehicle Stability Assistance). And the spare parts are way cheaper than Toyota, and vandalism is far from this car as compared to Toyota

I have owned an EOD,DC and iv driven the evil spirit that belongs to my Sister, the 2011 EXL model...the AC definately is giving her problems we have gone for repairs but in vain.
The seats are also on the hard side,but it's a good ride, though the DC 2007 seats are more comfy and is more rugged..
Take the car to oyingbo to fix the ac that's where I fix mine for 3years now

Individual differences would always come to play when talking about car reliability. But overall, they all have their areas of strength and weaknesses. Individual driving habit and maintenance go a long way though. I've used a Mazda for 10yrs and sold it almost the price i got it.

@@ifeanyikingsley9874 Yes, It's used by transporters because it's cost of maintenance is very low. It's a hatchback Mazda 636 2.0L 2000 model. The AC and all were still intact when i sold if off, the buyer paid even before we met in person.

Motileke thats not true, the taillight design was first done on the 2003 Lexus-wagon 300 sportcross. Other cars makers ran with the design from that time till now. Honda did not do it first

Honda produces the best internal combustion Engine in the world… i use 2009 Accord.. I don’t have any issue with the car for the past 2years now apart from servicing of the Engine… nothing more..

Does the i4 engine really save that much fuel over the V6? And is the cost difference for maintenance that huge? Or it’s just a myth
The problem I have with V6 is that is costs more time, energy and cash to change the back coils. Plus, most V6’s are paired with the same transmission as the i4, which means it’ll wear out faster because it’s doing more work.
If you have plenty money you may not notice the difference in fuel consumption… lol.

Doesn't experience it,except the owner is a TERRIBLE person,you almost can go 2 years without seeing one with broken legs, I've NEVER seen one my whole life here is the north,not even for once,the car is one of the most rugged on our roads today,will take it over the muscle any time any day

These faults are common to European models 2.0 …. American models 2.4 and 3.5 are the best, and have non of those issues.
