Rest in peace Mike. I just ... Damn, nobody's this good! Its not possible to follow this! Incredible force of nature. Thanks for you!! Testify! Can I get an Amen?😆
First rime I heard Mike was in Emporia Kansas, about 1970. At school that day, all you heard was “Did you know Finnigan is playing tonight?”. He didn’t disappoint. He was and continues to be the best Blues/Rock/ with a little bit of gospel performer I’ve ever heard. I heard him probably 50 times in Wichita, Emporia, Salina, Kansas City, Boulder, and basically anywhere he played (in all the different bands he was in). Mike was a genuine nice and funny man. Many a time we spent his intermissions out in the van havin a puff. RIP dude, you are missed.
I've listened to this a million times and I still can't decide whether Mike Finnigan's a better vocalist or B3 player... he gets me... he gets me... every... time!
I just saw and listened to a 4 hour concert of them at the Santa Barbara Blues Society last week. What can I say, each is great on his own, but collectively, they were superb. If you like a B3, Fender Tele, Sax, Trumpet (yes trumpet) and fantastic Bass, together, as well as SOULFUL singing by then all, this band is IT.
@larryinvegas How cool was that! Vegas. You lucky man, you. I was at the House of Blues last Nov. on our 25th anniversary. Wish I could have seen that.
Anybody out there who's a Mike Finnegan aficionado, help. lol. Mike and a bunch of extraordinary musicians, many of whom are gone now, recorded a live rendition of the great gospel song, "Let me see the light" in the mid 1980.90s. Did Mike ever record the song on an album? Did anybody ever record the song on any album? lol. Help a brother people! lol. d
@@divad111352 I'm not 100% sure but I think he put that together after he found he had a short time left... cancer. What a crew he put together. Stills, Bramlett, Preston, Coolidge, and many others.
I just looked it up and have it playing now. It is from 1991. Most likely not for his own wake. However, this would be fitting... much the same as Eva Cassidy doing What A Wonderful World in her own wake.
Excuse me ... could someone direct me to the nearest methadone clinic....now with that said.. if you aren't aware of Mike F"s Black and White Album it's available here on TH-cam.. Mike at his very best...
what a great band, but brotherhood was my favorite . ray charles once said only brown eyed people coiuld sing the blues.,cant say that nom.harvey bolten.
Mike used to sing this every night when he was touring with me, & it killed me every single night!~ RIP Mike!~You're singing with the Angels now!~

Mike Finnegan can tear up a blues song like few other singers. The Phantoms give this tune a monstrously soulful rendition. RIP brother Mike

When he played, that B3 became a sentient creature. Your music will live on, Mike, in all our souls. What a loss.
