Very interesting. I would love to have seen if the gameplay was as smooth as the intro scenes. I noticed that the article was from July, so perhaps quite a few devs will have had some time to ascertain it's stability. Joshua Riek is where I tend to look for the latest progress outside of the Armbian team. One step forward though to preventing the RK3588 from being a lemon.
My PS4 controller wasn't working, so I didn't get any further with the game. I usually get to the Demi attack, as that is very early in the game and needs above average performance. But the intro uses the game engine, so most of the gameplay will be similar to the intro. I'm not sure why TH-cam keeps crashing, as that is where I expect to use the VPU or CPU, and not the GPU (at least not that much).

Does Blender (3D modeling) work on RK3588?
Blender 2.79.7 works fine via box64
Can you just try playing an AV1 video? Not from TH-cam but through a proper player like mpv or vlc
Will this work with orange pi 5?
It should. Armbian has images with kernel 6.10 for the Orange Pi 5.
