    Beautiful castings. I have done Zinc, Aluminium and Brass so far in conventional lost pla/ investment.
    I must try this! 🙂

    So Alex Steele has been playing around with lost wax brass casting, and I told him to come check out your channel, even though you hadn't uploaded anything in quite some time.
    The next day? Here you are uploading again. Welcome back, I've missed your videos.

    Fantastic! I'm struggling finding the right mix and procedure for the ceramic shell. Would a mix of 1 parts Powdered Clay, 1 part powdered chamotte and 1 part water work? Dipping in layers with drying in between until the thing is quarter-inch thick? My concern is that the whole ceramic shell would shrink or warp during burning. Maybe if i use mostly chamotte and only a little clay, i end up with a shell that doesn't shrink. I would be thankfull for further instructions.

    This is badass. When you clearcoat them did it change the dimensions of the part a lot?

  • @stocky9218
    @stocky9218 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Is there a chemical to erode the ceramic in small crevices? I have some designs that would probably not work unless the shell can be dissolved or eroded. Thanks

      Ransome and Randolph... this shell material was the suspendaslurry fs and is not rated for iron casting they may a zr slurry that is specifically for ferrous metals..

    • @aonemarine
      @aonemarine  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you sprue it up right you can use an air chistle on the top with the bottom resting on a solid surface and it will vibrate alot of it off. But internal areas need to be drilled with a masonry bit and then sand blast what ever is left..
      Stuff is a bit like a soft concrete...
