      Auspex Tactics sorry to do this, am I right in thinking, that I can take an inquisitor on his own and he doesn’t impact any of the Imperium troops he is with, but, if I wanted to take an acolyte, just one, he would be enough to upset the army joined as now they lose their detachment rules? Same applies if I took a vanguard detachment of acolytes?

    Really hope Auspex will take a new look on the Inquisition - they have been changed a bit since this was made

    22:26 'Cyclonic Torpedo' strat - The best use that I can think of for this strat is against the Drone-screen TRiptide build that is currently winning ITC GT's & Majors. It won't do much damage to the Riptides but can clear out some of the Shield Drone screens, especially the min squad 2 drone units, which are pivotal to keeping the battlesuits intact. As the strat dishes out Mortals their invul save won't help them, but of course they'll still get their 5+++ save. 4 CP is a huuuuge opportunity cost for this gimmick though. Better hope your CP farm recoups some of that!

    • @auspextactics
      @auspextactics  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, it'd be very satisfying to drop that on the middle of that particular death castle. You're right about the opportunity cost though!

    "new" made to order inquisition models on the GW website. all metal tho, but they look beautiful. I wish they'd re release cherubael bc I would buy that and eisenhorn immediately

    While it isn't listed in the Index, with the Inquisition Land Raider Prometheus you can field a Spearhead detachment, which is my go-to detachment for my Inquisition forces. Still super disappointed in the Inquisition as of now. While I overall like the changes to squads in 8th edition (Inquisition retinues not being composed of Crusaders or Death Cult Assassins but instead custom Acolytes and the way platoons were changed so we have individual squads instead of pseudo-formations), I miss the fact that they just removed all of the old models and datasheets instead of updating them and giving us more customization. You can still technically make Crusaders using Acolytes, but the model support for everything is just gone. And there's basically no Inquisitor customization anymore. There's no armor choices and substantially smaller weapon customization, and the Elite options are not vary unique.
    The Inquisition has always been my favorite faction in 40k, but the state of them in 8th edition is sad. I wish GW would just make a Codex: Imperial Agents and give smaller armies like the Inquisition, Adeptus Astra Telepathica, Rogue Traders, Legion of the Damned, Officio Assassinorum, and Sisters of Silence some love. Space Marines collectively have 14 books (not including indices), and some armies haven't even gotten a real one, just a half-baked excuse for support.

      Traditionally I’m a necrons player but I got into Inquisition in 8th.
      I agree that the lack of variety is silly but I really only use an inquisition vanguard detachment at 500pts in a 2000pt game, so I usually add an Astra Militarum list to get my misc followers and contacts (Commissars, Admech Priest, Ministorum Priests, Crusaders, etc).
      The acolytes I take Ofcourse have storm bolters or combi flamers/plasma, but I only take enough to fill the Land Raider and I assume those acolytes are the less...martial members of the retinue, like zealous skilled labor. Let’s me use any model i find interesting as an Acolyte.
      But I would like to see more interplay between those aforementioned misc units and the inquisition codex.

    @Fushicho724 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Could you tie in specific Ordo’s and do tactics vids on them? I guess really just the big ones, Malleus and Xenos? I’m excited that this stuff is being put into white dwarf now because based on the timing of the crimson fists white dwarf release, they were in the IF supplement only months later. Maybe we’ll get to see some updates on the Deathwatch and Grey Knights 😍

    Question for clarity: Can an Inquisitor fill in an HQ slot for an Imperium detachment? I'm building a Sisters of Battle list, and I need an HQ for a Spearhead detachment, and an Inquisitor would be pretty much perfect for the role, but I want to make sure that's how the rule works.

    • @spencernoffke8259
      @spencernoffke8259 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No, if you take them outside of an Inquisition detachment the inquisitor is “requisitioned” for their point cost but does not fill any unit slot.

  • @richmcgee434
    @richmcgee434 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    25:41 I know they'd probably just be interrogating the pilot of downed character Knight, but I really want to see someone covert a whole Chaos Knight so it's posed (in a suitably battered state) on a giant torture rack with gloating AdMech assistants merrily brandishing invasive mecha-dendrites and extensible shock-prods while the Inquisitor prepares to interrogate its corrupted machine-spirit. Bonus points if there's a really comfortable armchair in the diorama. :)

    How useful are the Inquisition now with 9th edition? Is a stock Inquisitor / in Terminator armour with making? What would be a good Loadout if they are?

  • @RFischer
    @RFischer 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Dominate was really nerfed from index version as that one could be cast on a Knight Character. Since it only effects one model most of the time the other models from the same unit will prevent it from using a shooting weapon. If you only get to make a single hand to hand attack even that option does not pay off. Does Authority of the Inquisition require the vehicle to be a Dedicated Transport or just have a transport capacity?

    • @auspextactics
      @auspextactics  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe just have transport capacity. And yeah thanks for the clarification on dominate :)

    • @RFischer
      @RFischer 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      With Transport "capacity" being key then the Inquisitor can ride in a Stormlord. :)

  • @CaptJPurdie
    @CaptJPurdie 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    The jokaero buffs seem a bit redundant to me unless you're fighting other imperials (and unless I've totally misunderstood how quarry works...) Acolytes and inquisitors already get reroll hits and wounds against chosen enemies do they not? I'm assuming everyone is going to take inquisition detachments of the appropriate ordo to who they're fighting.

    Hey bud I'd like to do a supreme command detachment. Is this legal?
    HQ:
    1. Ordo Malleus Inquisitor in Terminator Armour
    2. Captain in Terminator Armour
    3. Chaplain in Terminator Armour
    Elite:
    10 man CC Terminator Squad
    I just want to know if that's legal. Would my detachment would keep the astartes keyword or would it have to go with 'imperium?' You need three HQ to be a supreme command, and those are the models I want to kitbash. TY in advance guys XD

    • @Jaypes1
      @Jaypes1 4 ปีที่แล้ว

  • @HighlandPhoenix

    How sure are we that if Eisenhorn uses his Malus Codicium to summon his radical bond Daemonhost that this will cause a Space Marine army to lose both its Chapter Tactics AND Combat Doctrines? I'd like a GW FAQ on this to clarify.

    • @auspextactics
      @auspextactics  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I feel like the precedent is there from the assassin strat where you add an assassin to your army for 2CP. An FAQ would certainly help though

    • @HighlandPhoenix
      @HighlandPhoenix 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@auspextactics Definitely. I would also like GW to FAQ whether Inquisition units with Authority of the Inquisition can ride in Primaris transports, i.e. Impulsor... I don't see why not, they are not Mk7 Space Marines with animosity towards Primaris, they are an Imperial Inquisitor ffs! Fingers crossed they allow it in the case of the Inquisition! I get that the Inquisitor Terminator needs the transport to allow Terminator models, but every other Imperial transport should be allowed for the non-Terminator models!

    • @HighlandPhoenix
