Festa Junina in Dubai: An Incredible Mix of Brazilian and Arab Cultures - Arraiá do Makanny

We went to the famous Arraiá do Makanny, an unforgettable June festival in Dubai that celebrated the rich Brazilian traditions in the heart of the Middle East. This annual event, held for 8 years by a Brazilian married to an emirate, provided a fantastic fusion of cultures, where the animation of the Brazilian June festivals met the warm Arab hospitality.
Located in Sharjah, Makanny is a charming farm that becomes the perfect setting for Arraiá do Makanny. The party had many Brazilian families and typical attractions of the Brazilian June festivals, such as square dances, typical foods, live music with forró and traditional decorations, all combined with the hospitality of the locals.
We had the chance to taste delicious dishes, such as pamonha, canjica, corn cake, cocada and other delicacies typical of the June festival. Meanwhile, we danced to the best country music and forró, which enlivened the party.
The square dance was one of the highlights of the event, with couples dressed in character and dancing to traditional music. The bonfire lit in the center of the party provided a cozy atmosphere and a magical atmosphere, where everyone could gather to enjoy the night.
Arraiá do Makanny was a true celebration of Brazilian friendship, culture and traditions in Arab lands. We were delighted to experience this incredible and unforgettable experience that brought a piece of Brazil to the heart of the United Arab Emirates.
Among the numerous activities offered at Arraiá do Makanny, we find gift stalls full of games and challenges, providing fun for the whole family. The children were delighted with the bounce house, ensuring animation and moments of joy. In addition, the famous mechanical bull caught the attention of the most courageous and adventurous, who faced the challenge of taming it amidst laughter and applause from the spectators.
