@lindsaykelly2224 ETONA was saved in 1961. Rebuilt ( 98 % ) . Now , 60-odd years later she has been recently re-planked. Plus new angle-iron frames as required. A new Stem Post . Her boiler has been re-furbished : New firebox. New tube plate . New tubes . Re-bored cylinders . New pistons and rings. New neck rings , re-faced slide valves and "D" valves , new piston rods , New cross-head bearings , New Big-end bearings , New MAIN Bearings . A NEW Set of tubes . A refurbished 'Worthington' feed pump. And a re-bored short-stroke feed pump , plus NEW HEAT-EXCHANGER Coil between the short-stroke pump and the boiler . She now has NEW Sponson decks all round , and more head-room in the engine-room and Dining Saloon . In - Short , ETONA is very well loved ( by me ) If you may like to join my crew on the next "PORT" SAIL PAST , kindly let me know . Cheers , Rob robspharmacy@iinet.net.au
The Etona is in bad condition, how do I know, I saw her a few days ago, she had a little incident where she got stuck on something in the dropping water levels, she's all safe and sound now tho
@@stef.b.m.lk1902 yeah man on the surface but I wonder how sturdy her hull is. Id assume she hasnt been docked for a while. Just dont want to see her go under.
@lindsaykelly2224 You 'May' informed about her TOTAL Demise . Meanwhile , I am installing her last few planks , ( and caulking her tight ) She has New pistons. New bearings New Drive chain . New firebox. New stem-post., 90% New Hull . Kindly advise me , of your best suggestions to save her. ETONA is the OLDEST moored-at the Wharf Paddlesteamer in ECHUCA. STILL GOING STRONG .
