You end up with landlords who at some point just let the place rot and use its old evaluation to secure more loans to buy up more property. Many of them don't need tenants if there's rent ceilings. Governments across the world have failed time and time again when trying to implement price ceilings. You cannot have governments, which grow more incompetent over time, micro-manage the economy.
This is what I think of this Liberal MP 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮
You won't look after Canadians. But you'll help an international student with housing or a job.
This government is about money, not Canad.
Election now!!
Only on the Liberal Cabinet can you Fail up.
This is like instead of punishing the Arsonist that caused so much damage they promote him to Fire Chief 💃🚒
Good. We have way too many pinders in canada
Alberta is full!!
Sean Fraser needs to be fired. He destroys ever job he gets. Horrible person.
A cap is just a tiny bandaid to the problem. They need to start making these students RETURN to their country after their studies. Everyone should have the option to higher education, but when they graduate… GTFO!!! Go home, take your education there and make it better THERE!! Canada needs to stop letting students stay when they graduate. Let them reapply for immigration after.
Pretty funny. Sean was the one who created this mess while he was the immigration minister. Now he’s housing minister trying to fix his own mess. Don’t be fooled.
Nary a word on the 500,000 yearly immigrants nor on the 200,000 asylum seekers. These incompetent people have to go. Unfortunately, most of the damge has already been done.
Right.@@winstonsmith4108
This country will break down from this.
Same with the UK that is taking in 750,000 immigrants, the average person thinking the number is only around 75,000. People are just completely ignorant to the reality. It's easier to pretend everything is moving smoothly, with little hiccups, than admit you're collapsing the society.
Their voters seem to think there's some magic soil here that just creates success. That if you just move various groups of people around the world into Canada, they will not bring any of their outside problems in here or any of their bad habits. These fools still believe in Rousseau's tabula rasa approach.
It's not enough , need infrastructure before students or immigrants come in .
When a country blames on students that just doesn’t sound right. Rather they don’t look at relationship btw the universities and the real estate developers, I guarantee the house shortages won’t be solved.
The idiots who create the problems should not be speaking about solutions to the problems.
Political.parties should pay for the housing crisis they created.
500,000 immigrants, yet you're reducing student visas to ONLY 365,000 (1000 per day). When did Canada become a charity for everybody else? Oh right, when Turdeau got in.
Sean Crazy Arms Fraser, lost a million immigrants, when he was Minister of Immigration
He is the one who created this chaos.
How could he get his new position as minister of housing in the first place? He is the one who made this whole mess
They rotate positions based on who is most loyal and who can stay away from scandals the best.
Jody Wilson-Raybould was removed from cabinet because she wanted to do her job properly.
I disagree with her politically on almost everything but I'm glad she won her re-election in 2019 and was disappointed the Conservative party even ran someone in the riding. Take the guaranteed L in the easy Liberal holding and formally support someone who's actually proven to be honest, even if you disagree with where she stands on issues. Corruption is a far bigger issue than partisan differences.
Useless ,unskilled , politician
And who caused the housing problem in the first place Minister Fraser? I wonder who?
Did you notice the pandemic?
@@mikeb5664 you aren't serious??? you can't really be that brainwashed or stupid????
@@_Y.Not_ The only idiot I see is the one who can't set his feelings aside and do a simple Google search to see what has caused the housing crisis. The pandemic caused a pent up demand for housing while the pandemic didn't allow new housing starts, and then immigration started again to support the economy.
@@_Y.Not_ Yes, people are that stupid. This idiot is looking at the government he supports backtracking on every policy they've issued to make the housing situation far worse and he's still too partisan and ideologically motivated to see even his own party is indirectly admitting making mistakes.
You cannot reason with this level of stubborn ignorance.
Only 8 years too late
Thank goodness this is being addressed!
You think it is being fixed do you?......You must vote Liberal
ONLY because they are TANKING in Polls.. don't buy this BS... VOTE THEM OUT
Seriously, this is way too little, way too late, this is a drop in the bucket of what needs to be done to fix this.
CANADA NEEDS A BACKBONE NOT A COWARD FOR PRESIDENT.
This govt is so incompetent.
You know it campaign seasons when those who caused the problems are fixing it out of the blue.... it's a good move, yes; but too little too late, imo. Close the doors completely until every homeless person has a housing.
That won't be happening.
Yes, I think the people here who think this is going to solve the problems we have due to huge immigration numbers are delusional, this is waaay too little, waaay too late
Fraser should head back to Davos on a one way plane trip.
Ten million Filipinos in BC alone. There is more Chinese than Filipinos...many who just crossed the US-Can Border. More money handed to Chinese to build condos for Chinese elderly who never worked a day in their lives in Canada. More money handed to Filipinos to build a Filipino community center meanwhile the hard working immigrants built their centers from their own pockets.
How about we send 90% home now. These people were protesting to pay the same amount as Canadians? They have no shame. They don’t understand they at guests and must be sent back
the damage is done already thanks a fucking lot
why is our "international students" just coming from 1 region of the world?
Pierre pressured these liberal losers. Way to go Pierre.
So the guy who was the immigration minister, who over saw all this mess is now going to fix the housing?
Only in Trudeau's utopia, vote the idiots out at the next general election and end this madness...
No one ask him to invite mass his pm did we citezens add enought...no wonder we loose our job ...they pay them less ..guet lost spare us your presence an learn to talk french ...
So instead of 15 students per house there will now be 12.
exactly! waaay too little, way too late to fix anything
We can’t let the people who created the problem solve the problem. Hint hint you are the problem.
Take care of Canadian born citizen first, stop pretending like their are ppl from all over the world using the international student hoax to enter the country, we all know we have too many of the same kind of ppl in Canada
How about to those who come here as a tourist then find a job?then apply for PR after? They come here with the intent to find a job, isn’t time to changed the policy that give opportunity to the tourist to find a LMIA sponsor?
We’re already screwed! Both my wife and I are educated, have careers, and can’t afford a home! I refuse to pay 600k for a 100k piece of crap! My last home was brand new and bought for 150k. The mortgage was half my rent now for a one bedroom apartment!
Are you complaining because you bought a home for a ridiculously low price?
@@mikeb5664 Um, no. That’s what it was worth. Now, it’d be a half million.
@@mikeb5664 Imagine that, someone who can separate themselves and spot a clear issue that needs fixing for others.
@@Bear-nu8xm Well, apparently you bought a home for 150k, that is now worth 500k, but somewhere along the line you lost it and now rent. It's unfortunate, but there are probably thousands in your situation. No doubt, life can be tough and seem unfair. The pandemic screwed over too many people.
@@mikeb5664 Yes, I moved to be closer to parents and went to school in same city. You’re right, many are far worse off than myself. I should remember this more
How bout we make them pay to come live her and all Canadian citizens get a payout of all immigrants who come throughout the year. Instead of paying them and giving them houses while our own people are struggling to survive.
👏 👏 👏
Higher education should be free for Canadians.
This new policy is going to likely make it more expensive.
@@thisisjeff9845 The policy will hopefully address the fake degrees for citizenship scams across this country. We don't want foreigners scamming their way into our country. Tax payers will help real Canadians get educated, not the foreign thieves.
The former immigration minister that created the problem will fix it. HAHA. These Liberals are unreal.
You made the mess with your open door policy and Roxham Road (illegal port of entry) when the Immigration Minister Sean so dont blame the Provinces for your failures!! Better yet you and Trudorf need to resign!!
Its all provinces fault. Stupid doug ford
but your universities and colleges didnt have problems raking up the money of these foreign students post-pandemic. make it make sense
all about that $$$$ not for you and i but for these clowns and its cronies
of course they did, what's that got to do with the failing infrastructure in Canada caused by huge immigration including international students? I hope they all go bankrupt
Put a cap on government spending and quit the multi tax that is killing canadian families.
Countries gone.
The fact this guy still has a job is remarkable. If this was the private sector, he would be flipping burgers. Blows up both posts that he's at and still holds a high-ranking position.
This Joker wants a pat on the back for fixing the probem he created?
Finally, I'll be able to profitability with Uber eats.
Corrupt politicians.
Way too little, way too late

Hi im shawn frasier, I am currently suffering the consequences of my actions
I got it in written (from his former ministry 2 yrs ago) claiming that

Omg.
It is so nice of him to allow the universities subsidized with taxpayer dollars and tax-free to allow them to continue to make profits by educating foreign students tax-free.
For jobs that don't exist. How many Gender Studues graduates do we really need? We need people to carry drywall
The governments would much rather intl students paid tuition so they don't have to provide as many grants. Also whose job is it to ensure study permits and immigration is done in a responsible and sustainable way?? Not the hundreds of individual schools, the feds.
Post secondary funding has been dropping for decades. With governments legislating how much they can charge domestic students, they started bringing in international ones. We need more taxes going towards education, and then we can stop bringing in the numbers we do to make up the shortfall.
@Nicklan1961 Rubbish. International students are charged much higher fees than local students.
I don’t know about tax free but international students are meant and do pay more than domestic students by a large amount. Nothing wrong with educating potential citizens. 🇨🇦
Cap? Shut [it] down completely. WTF?!
So my Timmy’s order will be correct next time around, and the intl student working at the front won’t spit on my coffee because I scolded him that he got my order wrong?

Some of these questions from the media are wild!!!! Canadian students have been loosing out of getting into schools and insane rising prices because of how many international students were allowed in. Honestly the media these days needs to give their head a shake or get their heads out from the sand
Canadian students can get into any school they want.
Make no mistake, the media are the worst ideologues of perverse leftism.
Take the US for example. Someone named Michael Malice put up a poll asking people if they'd rather 9 random Democrat representatives or 9 members of the New York Times' editorial staff to be the 9 SCOTUS members and any non-leftist who thinks about it will always pick the 9 Democrat representatives in this binary choice. You'd take your chances with hoping to get a middle of the road person like John Fetterman or Joe Manchin over the 100% leftist ideologues that make up the New York Times' editorial staff.
CBC, CP24, Global, CTV... they are the same ideologically as the New York Times.
The media needs to stop being on a liberal bias train and start being non bias like they are supposed to be.
@@fraslexand at what cost??? They get charged a shit ton more for a spot because the immigrants that come here will spend cash money and they will take the immigrant over the one who lives here ALL DAY LONG. man you liberals are such brainwashed people that it scares me tbh. 😂

Canada's immigration model dating back yonder...."Come one, come all, you are welcome."....decades later "Shit, we need to build houses for these people and have some sort of control over what landlords can charge rent for. Solution: Let's blame international students"...Reporter to minister "But what about foreign Chinese buyers driving up home prices? Or the abuse of Filipino's using the Caregiver program as an express entry into Canada for themselves AND their families?" ...Minister looks at reporter "Damn it Brenda, I only got two hands. If you know what to do and fix this mess, you do it." and reporter calmly tells minister "How about we only let in people with skills Canada needs aka highly educated people and not low skilled ones and how about sending a message to the world that Canada is not a refugee sanctuary by actually denying them entry?".
Canada can't deny entry to Asylum seekers because that would mean they would stop getting money from the World Bank...Do you know why Quebec receives the most amount of refugees?
because the numbers were smaller per year back then. Now it's open flood gates, especially for refugees who have no qualifications other than their border jumping skills
High skilled workers are not going to come due to impending de-dollarization and devaluaton of CAD/USD/Euro. It also means, low skilled workers are needed in millions to ramp up local manufacturing since de-dollarization also means decoupling from China. No wonder, US and Europe are allowing millions of refugees for 'cheap labor" as well
Immigration is needed but not with these numbers.
Too late for that
