As a JSA player, I'd like to see them become a 'primary'' faction in that they could have one sectoral, which would be all the high tech stuff and rebuilt units they lost during the war and gained from pano. A vastly expanded ryuken unit 9 (to include all the characters and abilities from the ghost in the shell reference) etc etc - Less samurai more high-tech covert stuff
My friend and I have been getting a solid Infinity community up and running in Tallahassee, FL. They are eating up your material! Thanks for the solid content and theories.
I think the reinforcement models are a stepping stone to new sectorials, it seems like too much work for an optional rules set. Now they just need to release an action pack with the reinforcement pack and boom you have a new sectorial.
For your sectorial question on number of distinct units. Yes, I would play one with 9 + basic remotes + generic doctor/engineers. I would even go as low as 6 or 7. They have to be the right 6 or 7: they need to be interesting, reinforce a playstyle I like, and reinforce the theme of the force. If you barrow more generic things then you can get away with less unique unit count, Fusilier vs Moderators + Securitate + Alguaciles as an example. Another thing CB may be concern about is changing the feel of a faction with a massive influx of models to it, which may explain why the Bakunin box has a bunch of Bakunin only models in it, I think it is about half the box is only able to be used in that sectorial.
I’m still remarkably new to this game and world so I’m still wrapping my head around the CURRENT options, deciding where to go from my Crimson Stone box. Nomads and Ariadna are fun but I’ve heard neither are the easiest to start with once you expand out. Based on all I’ve heard though, I’m hoping either O-12 gets more units, or that the JSA gets expanded into a full faction unto itself. It feels like it’s really close to getting to that point anyway from its lists alone.
I think one sectorial I'd like to see the most is a "generic"/hired guns NA2 army, something that can represent smaller merc companies or a temporary group formed to finish a contract.
Yeah, closest we got is Druze since Druze are often contracted out for all kinds of jobs and they do subcontracting work too. So plausibly DBS could just be sending cheaper mercs
I'm pretty sure I have read somewhere (altough I can't find it now) that the Knights of Santiago had a base in Santiago de Compostela, in Spain. Makes sense given that there lies the tomb of their patron saint.
I just want an Exrah NA2 force. Maybe an Exo G:Jumper profile, since they apparently have neural control devices on some of their underlings. Maybe lots of access to plasma weapons or something like Helots in the form of indentured bugmen.
Earth Bastions biggest issue, I think, is that as soon as they exist, you need to start adding other Solar system powers. Yu Jing's banner armies in the area, plus the major nonaligned powers of Earth like Nigeria, or even the politically significant ones like Tycho City on the Moon. Factor in that Earth has mostly been an afterthought for the major Infinity powers and has little lore attention as a result (and also to avoid drawing consistent lines and setting out what happens with modern day controversial events) and you have a lot of work to do as a result. But that said it's also perhaps the most fertile ground for new units, even if it's just regional regiment identities. Maybe Polish Squalos took the identity of Winged Hussars. Maybe Alpine and Himalayan troops specialise in mountain warfare for PanO. Perhaps the Aussie and New Zealanders pride themselves as being the original PanOceanians. And of course, Spain is part of PanO so CB surely know way better than I do as to how they can add Spanish PanOceanians into the mix
Knights, mad max motorcyclists, panther hunters, and AI constructs, Infinity is so cool. Maybe a new NA2 like the muslims still on earth coming together to form an effective defense against regional rivals and corporate interference which makes them great at countering the shasvastii. Or literal pirate and norse factions on Titan's oceans. The potential is ... infinite.
I think CB is going in a direction that will allow it to support more sectorials already. in the past, we had much more blisters, and many boxes with 3-4 models of the same unit (with different loadouts, but still) now, old blisters are consolidated into packs (like the upcoming Zúyong Invincibles pack or the previously released JSA Expansion Pack Alpha), and most new releases are some sore or 'fireteam' or 'expansion" pack with multiple units, and even 'pure' releases are hiding characters in them, like Carlota Kowalsky in the Tomcats pack and So-ra Kwon in the Jujak pack. we even have an army with 2 action packs now (millitary orders). I will not be surprised if we get multiple products consolidated to give Varuna, Tunguska and Invincible Army their own action packs to consolidate the range further.
That would be cool. I’d only fear we don’t get all the best models or units; imagining a world where the Varuna pack is missing out on helots or Zulu-cobra
Reinf. Sectorials could be a way to have smaller thematic armies, and maybe you could make a "normal" sectorial out of combining two of those aligned by your power.
@@WarLore I take the point but they do punch above their weight I feel. Maybe a Helot sectorial? I just really like the Omn and want more of them to be honest!
Something I wanted to add, any new sectoral that appears with new troops, needs to also take Vanilla into account. Unless they are only available to the sectoral. But that's usually only one or two troops at most.
I’m feeling ISS is going to be cut to bring in Daebak. Which I’m not happy about. They might as well have kept the JSA. It’s like Yu Jing is repeating it’s mistakes by not incorporating Japanese into the ranks. O-12 will have something new made. Starmada didn’t exist when the Bureaus were first shown after all. Starmada is a part of Bureau Agis already. They are the Navy/Marines. What they need is the Army. And that would be most of the Greek letters. Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta, etc. the ones that assault the illegal tech facility, the Combined Army HQ. Exrah obviously could be a sectoral but I think they are going to be added to Onyx.
they might be "cut" but it's also possible that they'll still get profiles. i mean cmon, the OOP sectorials are still getting new characters and models from time to time!!! I would like to see KSA
@@WarLore Maybe. ISS has been all but dead. They have received only Adil in the last several years. I think 2020 for him and years before that for something else. Daebak feels like a slap in the face after loosing JSA. I'm still a bit bitter about it. They made these bad excuses that they didn't fit the design and then come out with Daebak who clearly have their own design.
Ank feels to me that is should be rolled into Operations, as Ank currently uses a good number of Operations models in reinforcements. I would rather see a Toth/Overseer department based on Egypt who job is to protect and maintain Alephs hidden fasilities (there are already some units in the rpg for it) or logistical guard unit named after thing in hebrew myths (the standard remotes get there names from hebrew letters). I also want them to show what happened to Knight Templar that where captured when they where excommunicated for doing AI research and Aleph and Hospitallers turned on them. My theory is that the excommunication was a cover for Toth to roll most of the Templar into Toth's organization. Ideas for units I want to see for them are hackers that can ignore firewall, more types of post humans in their own little batch selection groups, more "TAGs" like Maximus which essentially just supper power armored units counting at TAGs, EM warfare specialists. Aleph sectorial share very little in the way of models and I would like to see that continue.
I would play a 9 ish unit army. If i liked the units. Im more of a painter and lore guy. So, haveing fewer units would make it easier to get good with what i have. But those units would need to be versatile.
Yeah... I understand that mature players want to be able to buy new toys, but I like games that resist bloat. My favorite game was strict about bloat and it, uh, was cancelled partially because mature players quickly bought all miniatures they would ever want. Uhm, ok. So, it's a necessary evil, I guess. Still, 80 profiles in Vanilla Nomad does my head in, and now we have more from reinforcements.
I think there are too many profiles in vanilla. Personally I would like to see small sectorials added. I feel like that avoids too much bloat. Idk. Gotta sell modes somehow.

I find the current sectorials bloated, but 9 is kind of smallish. in PanO, Varuna hits the sweet spot for me, not in it being the best, but preserving a feeling of a unified, professional force.
You hear me say this all the time, but O-12 and Aleph should be combined into one faction. Even then, with the reinforcements already promised, there are enough production models to make a fully fleshed out support subsection made of almost exclusively remotes.

EBA would be a great addition to the game think about how much more fusilier sculpts CB could release !
I think they could live with a big re-release box with new poses and unified gear
19:00 I am afraid Support SubSection of Special Situations Section would be too much S)
Support Aleph would be cool. I'm picturing something like Trauma Team from Cyberpunk
We didn't get that sadly. But it would be so damn sick

I believe, infinity is suffering from profile bloating right now. Bring more small sectorials with interesting playing styles
