If a slide player says the sweetest tone, you’re not going to be disappointed😂😂
This made me laugh!!!
Sounds like spongebobs music
HAS to be the same instrument.
It is! they used a guitar pretty similar to mine to record that stuff
Can you show us some SpongeBob licks??
Until maybe the 50s, steel guitar was seen as both a western music instrument as well as Hawaiian. It really gives Spongebob music that tropical feel.
Just the way I like it
I'm so glad solid steel guitar players still exist. I grew up listening to my dear ol' dad playing the steel guitar. He's passed a decade ago. Steel guitar music will always have a special place in my heart. 💞
Alex is the re-incarnation of what people now miss from a few decades back. We've got Country Classics and the fingernails on a chalk board Nashville Pop 'New Country'. Alex could be the face of a new sub-genre: Solid Country.
OLD OLD country sounds awesome! Thanks!
Such a talented player and his voice is golden! Born to perform!!!🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤😊🎵🎶🎵🎶
Awww thank you! My live show is awesome!

Alex, I have loved you from American Idol and you have me melting because I absolutely love the pedal steel guitar. It's been my favorite instrument since I was a little kid. You're right about the sweetest tone of any instrument is so true. Each time I hear a pedal steel, I get goosebumps. I love love love a pedal steel and I love you for keeping country music country 🎶🎶🎶🎶💞🤗💞 You're unbelievably talented and I absolutely love you and your ability to play so music 🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶💞🤗💞 I sincerely hope to meet you one day soon. Keep playing and singing that beautiful sweet country music consistently. 🎶🎶🎶💞🤗💞🙏🙏🙏🙏
I about love Steel Guitars. I believe someone from The KLF said:"Through the sound of a steel guitar, you can your heartstring being played"
That’s a great quote and very true!
My daddy played steel guitar in a country band in Colorado, I sure do miss hearing him play😢
Super 😎 cool

It looks so deceptively simple. You got mad skills, bud!
That’s the best explanation of steel guitar I’ve ever heard
Walking after midnight again
Brother, if you aren’t seen in this world as an American music treasure for what you’re sharing here well then, the world is blind and deaf too. Im a session drummer here in California and I’ve had the pleasure of working with some pretty amazing pedal steel players over the years out here so I’ve learned how challenging the instrument is as I fell in love with the sound first hand. Much appreciation and respect! 🎵🎶
Well thank you so much! California has been home to a lot of my favorite pickers like Speedy West, Noel Boggs, you know the old style steel pickers.
@@AlexMillerCountry Yessir! Ever hear of Bill Flores?
Love it ❤❤❤
Most people: "omg its like spongebob"
Me: "mmm some old school straight"
Love the steele
Jam, I thought I recognized you!
Awesome Alex 👏👏
More steel Alex!!!
I just imagine the narrator on SpongeBob saying some stuff over the playing lol
Goo La Goon 😂
Do something on pickblicking or palmblocking, Alex. Soundin good 🎶
Great job! 👍
Lap or pedal steel is the most beautiful sounding instrument ever
Do Frosty the Snowman ☃️😏
😂😂😂
I’d like to hear you play Ace in the hole
It was all my exes live in Texas
That was some
Hank Williams lick😊
What every big boy
Oh man.. Gotta love that thick Boston accent!
Young guys, take the challenge. Get a C6, E9 twin neck pedal steel. Some say it's like learning a pipe organ and 3 stick backhoe at the same time.
But 'some where, out there' could be the next Buddy Emmons, the g.o.a.t.
He reminds me of a young Scruggs
Sounds pretty darn good hoss
That’s some nice playing man! As soon as I heard you talk i thought “there’s a good chance this man is from Kentucky” I looked you up and I was right. I want to clarify that I’m not making fun, I’m from Kentucky and I talk about just like you.
You are so good!!
Again! Again!
I remember you from American idol lol, you were one of my favorites even though it was such a simple song on your audition, I'm a country lover at heart
Sounds like "Hey good looking" by Hank sr.
Do sleepwalking
Don't forget Herb Remington, Alex!
Love Herb Remington, I owned a Remington Steel for a long time loved it but didn't play it enough
@@AlexMillerCountry I still have a dual neck version that he built. Nice complement to my Sho-Bud III.
Don't watch American Idol but following your page now.
Well thank you! Truth is I didn’t watch it until I was on it so no problem 😂 but I’m glad you’re following me now!
Steel is the best guitar
Pappy McCormick the guy that invented the 4 sided steel use to live close to me. He pretty much gave Hank Sr his start. Hank let my great grandpa drive his Cadillac one time.
That’s too cool! Isn’t his steel in the boyhood home museum?
I thought u sounded like a good ol kentucky boy when i heard u and i was right! Lancaster is just a hour from where i live
I had a stroke and cannot play guitar like I used to. Im working towards a lap steel as part of my therapy AND sanity!
Sorry to hear about the stroke. There was a guy that I knew that had polio and he picked up Steel Guitar for the same reasons, its a great instrument for that reason.
Waiting for that all my ex’s live in Texas into
I just love your southern Dialect, Alex😊
Thank you. That's the Kentucky coming out in me
@@AlexMillerCountry very nice
Reminds me a bit of Hawaiian music
can you play the sponge Bob song ( I will write this several times)
can you play the sponge Bob song I will write this several times
can you pls play the sponge Bob song (I will write this several times)
can you play the sponge bob song (I will write this several times)
Dobro player i am , but i have not tex dialect soo i probably wont get hired
Dialect has no bounds on me! It’s can ya play or not, which if you can play dobro then my hats off to you!
So... I was listening, and then I found myself squinting to see which one of those things was a twelve string but there's only 3 six strings so it's actually got ---18 strings
Well it’s got 8 strings on 3 necks. 8+8+8=24
Somebody already said it in the comments but all I can hear is SpongeBob SquarePants
I want to start on pedal steel but man, they’re expensive for a full setup like that! Would love to experiment with it through my Helix!
I tell you what I would do. I would buy you a rouge 6 string lap steel and learn how to play some things with that guitar. And if you get good at that then consider pedal steel.
@@AlexMillerCountry very good idea, thanks! Probably not a good idea to go all out at first anyway 😂
Should not be considered country music without a steel guitar
Sounded like a little patsy cline. I do love the sound on steel guitar. Old country is always my favorite because of this sound.
Can you play a gary stewart song for me?
