"Garagara Bakyun" is the sound of a window being slid open, followed by a gunshot. It's Soyoka's signature move. "Garagaragara" is also sometimes said by Mori-sensei when he walks on stage to represent a sliding door opening.
Yes you did Pumpkin Parade song and dance already. I requested a few months back. It was with the 2013 graduats that did it. Nene, Raura, Sato and Marina.....YUI and MOA were there too obviously. It was a different stage.
🌸 🏫 / 🎃 🦇 Mori-sensei wrote some great scripts. This is one of the best. The girl dressed as a shrine maiden (a "Miko") was Miko Todaka. Like Suzuka Nakamoto before her, Miko was a star singing and dancing student at Actors School Hiroshima (ASH). Kano's Fujihata Kanoburo impression was based on 'Furuhata Ninzaburô'. That drama was inspired by Peter Falk's 'Columbo' series.
Ahh, of course, making Miko wear that makes so much sense. I'm just a stupid foreigner, but I remember 'Omiko' from the old Su-metal 'Kayou Guest Plus' interview. I assume it's related.
I am not familiar with most of the later Sakura Gakuin, so I have not watched this before, but everyone acted well. My favorite was the introduction of their skit by Miki at the beginning. This is Rakugo (落語, Story Telling). Rakugo has been around since the Edo period in the 17th century, and is a popular pastime for the common people along with Kabuki and Bunraku. I also love Rakugo, but for more than two years now, I have not been able to visit Yose (寄席, vaudeville theater) because of Corona. Miki played the introduction of their skit, called Makura (まくら), played before the main story of Rakugo. The Story Tellers usually tell a few small jokes to warm up the audience. The word 'Sakura' means cherry blossoms, but it has another meaning as a secret word for street vendors, which means 'shill'. Miki told us it as 'Shikomi (仕込み, Prepared audience)', too at 5:10. She joked to the audience (us) that they should laugh like shills because 'we are "Sakura" Gakuin'. That is so good and is exactly Rakugo, hahaha. Rakugo storytellers have distinctive names, for example, Sanyu-tei Enraku (三遊亭円楽), and other famous names. Her Teller's name was 'Sakura-tei Yagi-tei Miki' (さくら亭 八木亭 美樹). That was also lovely, and great, haha. At 14:48, a pun in that Miko (美湖) plays a Miko (巫女, shrine maiden). At 16:26, another pun in which Kokona (ここな) plays 'Detective Conan', a popular manga and anime series in Japan. But Magz knew it, great! At 17:24, the last boss appearing, Kano, the class president, played 'Furuhata ninzaburo (古畑任三郎)' as famous detective TV drama series in 90's, but here her name was, 'Fuji hata, Kano saburo (藤畑 華乃三郎?)', I don't understand, lol. It imitated 'The Detective Columbo'. And my favorite, the successor to Yui, Soyokaaaa~!.
Kano Fujihira, coming in on the bike, is playing Fujihata Kanoburo, her version of Furuhata Ninzaburo, the Japanese version of Columbo which ran from 1994 to 2006. (That's quite a complex chain of bad name puns). Apparently she hadn't actually ever seen the series, which is why Mori-sensei says it's too old of a reference!
Moa and Yui ones said during a Sakura Gakuin Fresh episode: Babymetal can also be a way to help make Sakura Gakuin more popular. My guess is it worked, the place is packed. 🙂
This was Sakura Gakuin 2019 class. Arguably the strongest group since, perhaps, 2015? Every year, they pick either talented girls or those with great potential. But here, is where all girls had talent. The 4 graduates that year also became the group now known as OneFive. EDIT: You watched Day 2 of the skit. Day 1 was the same skit, just with the members' roles being shuffled. If you get the chance, it's still worth watching Day 1.
Lil side info: the name "Detective Kokonan" as you already stated, comes from Detective Conan, but the girl playing her is named Kokona Nonaka, so thats a pun too. The girl on the bicycle is the Avenger Kano Fujihira (the one from the PaPaYa video). And YES, Mori Hayashi is a f...in genius! My favs are Yume Nozaki and Sakia Kimura (the two little ones) though. They always remind me a bit on Yui...
4:33 If it's not because of COVID, they would have the 3 times the amount of that audience for graduation. 2019 Graduation was going to be their largest concert ever with 4500 spectators, this Kanagawa Arts Theater has capacity of 1200. 14:00 It's funny to the audience because that girl, Neo, is very polite, when she first appeared on their weekly show, she couldn't utter a single bad word about her senior and she always wrote like 3 pages long blog complimenting other members. 14:55 You might miss that joke if you not familiar with Japanese. That girl is named Miko (beautiful + lake) and she dressed up as Miko (shrine maiden). 16:40 It's a pun, her name is Kokona. 23:15 Ggaragara bakyun is her catchphrase, on her first introduction in 2015 she did a modeling pose opening a window and shot a pistol hence garagara (moving window's shound) and bakyun (phew!) 31:10 Dead-sensei is a dance instructor.
You should definitely go watch the day 1 skit too. Kind of like Akatsuki unfinished, it is the same but different. Spoiler; there is an Osakan Grandma played by Soyoka. She cracks me up!
The day 1 skit, while the same, is different enough to warrant a watch. It is just as funny. Roles are switched around and has a different character or two. Soyoka and her Osakan Grandma bit cracks me up! Good stuff! I have seen both skits many times. Of course Sakia and Yume steal the show with their MoiMoi levels of cuteness.
As soon as the oldest 4 members graduated Sakura Gakuin in this video (2years later), they started 'One-five'(J-pop group) . One-five is the third girls group in Amuse. ( Amuse is the biggest entertainment company in Japan). And the first group is 'Perfume', the second group is `Babymetal`. By the way , almost graduated members of Sakura Gakuin become actor. Because it is difficult to become musician for anyone.
That was some level of Kawaiiness that remembered me of Yui and Moa :D ANd I suppose SG gained a lot more support over the years! It's such a shame that it ended! Maybe Amuse will come up with something similar, seeing how many talented girls came out of it!
This is an excellent example of why it is alright to occasionally skip ahead with Sakura Gakuin. From 2010 through 2021, the girls of Sakura Gakuin will never fail to entertain you. The two tiny angels who could see and speak with Mori Sensei's ghost are Yume Nozaki and Sakia Kimura, the closest thing Sakura Gakuin came the dynamic duo of Yui and Moa in its later years. Speaking of Yui and Moa, you did react to an earlier version of Pumpkin Parade from 2013 which included them. That was a straight up concert with no comedy sketches and took place on a much smaller stage.
@@jeans4484 I think you are confused here. The version of Pumpkin Parade they previously reacted to was from the Shinagawa Stellar Ball in 2013. I went and had a quick look at my DVD of the concert, and there are no skits in it.
@@scipiocorculum No, I'm not. There's always a skit on Gakuinsai, ever since their first in 2010 but would it be released in DVD or not is another question. The DVD is a cut of afternoon and evening shows put together without skits and Sakurademies.

I'm guessing she doesn't shop at goodwill. Idols don't get paid that much most of the time, but I guess she is in a special situation where there are only 2 of them making Amuse millions (?) of $. Good reaction.
Thanks for the vid guys. Enjoyed watching the skit with you. I hope you do 2015 to 2020 nendo tests. From 2017 onwards I believe, they included the pre-test pranks with the tests.
The pure professionalism, overall skill and quality of this Nendo is topped by none. Nendo 2019 was the very very best of Sakura Gakuin. Detective Koconan is played by a girl named Kokona.
