    I’ve been subscribed to your TH-cam channel since the “productivity/college days etc” (I’m 23 years old too) and I’ve loved following your journey through it all. I even cried watching the birth video it felt like I was watching a long distance friend telling me her story. Im currently engaged and getting married soon so I can definitely see myself going back to these videos to take notes when we have our first baby. May God continue to bless you and your family❤️🙏🏼

    I'm due in less than 2 months and I'm more anxious than excited, which makes me feel guilty. I'm obviously excited to meet baby, but terrified for the labour. But I'm encouraged after watching your pregnancy and postpartum journey. Honestly, thanks a ton for the great content.

      I recommend Ina May's guide to childbirth, I have listened to the audiobook last year and will listen again closer to my due date in September. It just helped me see birth as a natural process my body is meant to be going through. I hope it can help you as well! You will do amazing :)

    Hey Lauryn! Thank you so much for posting this video and providing the advice and info you did. I am currently 17weeks pregnant with a little boy and I have been incredibly sick (I've lost just under 30 lbs), hospitalized a lot, and this has created some anxiety for later on once I'm postpartum and recovering. I know every woman is different, but your video really helped ease my mind a bit and helped me know how to better prepare before hand. I'm so glad to hear you, Kokoa, and baby Zeke are doing wonderfully (and of course Rocco too)! Again, thanks so much for posting this video and being so open to sharing your life in this way.💕💙🌻

Although i know i really should take time off to spend time with my baby I dont make enough to be able to support my family and baby on just maternity leave. Loving your videos! How long on average do new mums stay in hospital in America? I’m from Australia and it’s generally Private system 4-5 days post caesarean or 2-3 days post vaginal and our Public system 2-3 days post caesarean and 4 hours - 1 day post vaginal. So interesting hearing what other countries do!

      My hospital offered 1 to 2 days, but they really pushed for 2. I was admitted Friday evening and I was discharged Monday afternoon. I wanted to talk with the breast feeding nurse and had legal paperwork to wait for , so the hospital was very okay with me staying. Not sure about c section.

    Question? are you doing anything specific to help keep your milk supply high? im currently breastfeeding and my son was born 2.18.23 but I feel like my milk is dropping :(

    • @laurynwillkomm
      @laurynwillkomm  ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m not!!! Besides trying to drink a lot of water… but nothing else. I feel that as well but might just be that our supply is regulating!!!

  • @QuiteQuietASMR
    @QuiteQuietASMR ปีที่แล้ว

    Did they give you Pitocin after your birth to help your uterus go back down/ prevent hemorrhage? I am planning an unmedicated birth but I know they typically do give pitocin after for those reasons.
    Also, did you receive fundal massages after birth to help uterus contract and help pass blood clots? I’ve heard some women say the fundal massages are just as painful as the birth itself. What was your experience with that?

    • @elea5607
      @elea5607 ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven't heard of anyone getting pitocin after birth. Your uterus will shrink naturally, especially if you breast feed you'll contract and that'll help your uterus shrink too.
      I believe everyone gets those massages after birth so they can monitor how you're holding up.

    • @QuiteQuietASMR
      @QuiteQuietASMR ปีที่แล้ว

      @@elea5607 My OB says it’s typical (at least at my hospital) to give pitocin after birth, even after an unmedicated birth, to help with uterine contractions and to prevent excessive bleeding. She said it’s up to me if I choose to get it, but it is common practice. She said if bleeding is minimal and things seem fine, I can decline it, but some women come back a day or two later with excessive bleeding and need a D&C after declining the after-birth pitocin.
      I do know that breastfeeding is supposed to help contract the uterus though, and I plan to breast feed.
      Also I know fundal massages are common practice, I am mostly curious about the level of discomfort people experience during it.

    • @elea5607
      @elea5607 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@QuiteQuietASMR that's interesting, both births I've had my hospital never offered pitocin.
      In my experience with the massages, it wasn't painful to me, just uncomfortable and it wasn't a long massage maybe like 10 seconds. I also had a 3rd degree tear from my episiotomy with my first. In that case the massages were a little more uncomfortable but really, going through birth itself is much more painful I'd say especially unmedicated

    • @laurynwillkomm
      @laurynwillkomm  ปีที่แล้ว

      They gave me a pitocin shot instead of in an IV!!! But yes they did. You can decline it! I was going to decline it at first but they recommended it since I lost quite a lot of blood and everything happened so fast
