    Hey Massimo, I watched your video about the Omni Box. Very informitable and how you wired it up. If I ever get one, I would need to see you and Jorge video to watch how to hook it up. And watching that F1 run around the track was nice.

      Hi Marco! Thanks! Yeah buddy, the next video coming out will have all the details on the track paint used.
      The base is a Rust-oleum 2x Grey Primer. Then the overspray to give it that effect is a Krylon Flat black and a flat white.

    Awesome video, thank you for sharing! I'm at the very early stages of researching these digital/analog boxes. May I ask what made you choose the OmniSlot over the TekSlot?

    • @MPSlotCar
      @MPSlotCar  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for watching!
      Well originally I was looking into a tekslot. They were the only ones I was aware of at the time, but they were really hard to find. Then I found out about the OmniSlotBox. Started doing research on it and emailed Jim asking questions about it and he was very helpful. So decided to go this route. They’re both good options, there’s a bunch of comparisons out there on forums. I just felt this may be a little better long term option but that’s just my opinion.

    • @All-ScaleSlotCars
      @All-ScaleSlotCars ปีที่แล้ว

      @MP Slot Car Thank you so much! I really value your opinion, so Omni now has the early edge, Lol! I've got some homework to do on this, Lol. Thanks again, and enjoy it!

    Do digital add ons like the lap counter and throttle detector still work? Or would I need to disconnect those accessories when running analog mode? Based on my understanding of electricity, I'd need to disconnect those parts.

    • @MPSlotCar
      @MPSlotCar  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No everything can stay connected they just don’t work while in analog mode. The one thing that has to be “modified” is the curved lane changers, you need to remove that one jumper in them which doesn’t effect it at all even when back in digital mode.

    • @ryanb9749
      @ryanb9749 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @MPSlotCar I already modified the jumpers for anti collision detection. I am considering doing this myself as $800 seems a bit steep and I think I know how they did it. I'm just not sure how the digital accessories are going to handle my approach.

    • @ryanb9749
      @ryanb9749 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's simply a 3 way switch with the Digital power unit on 1 side and the analog power unit on the other side. Should be simple. I'm just concerned how the other parts will react to variable voltage inputs.. lol

    • @ryanb9749
      @ryanb9749 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@MPSlotCar oh fascinating. The digital parts have polarity protection switches... thank you for your input. It's led me on a fascinating journey. I'll update you after I DIY it, if I remember.

      @@MPSlotCar Cool. Looks like the Carrera evolution control unit can be soldered onto the digital one without issue. probably the cheapest option. I wont be able to adjust the voltage though which kinda sucks but hey. $40 digital to analog conversion.

    What’s the difference between this one and the Texslot box

    • @MPSlotCar
      @MPSlotCar  ปีที่แล้ว

      They’re both great options. As far as I know there hasn’t been any issues reported with an Omni box yet, I’ve seen a few with the tekslot.
      Sunday Slot Cars did a comparison video that you can check out:
      th-cam.com/video/m9dLneeaX3M/w-d-xo.html
      I chose the Omni because I felt for long term is the the better choice, that’s just my opinion, I have nothing against the tekslot. Also, I don’t have to worry about running a car with a hot motor or if I wanted to run vintage cars I won’t run into any issues. In the end, it all depends what you’re going to use it for was in the market for a tekslot, but ended up going this route and so far I have to say that I’m happy.

    • @MPSlotCar
      @MPSlotCar  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I believe the Omni is just for Carrera. I may be wrong but I think you can switch easier between digital and analog with Scalextric. But it’s better to follow up with someone that’s running the system

    Good job, Massimo. 🙄 Now, I want one. How much are kidneys going for these days?

  • @darillfow
    @darillfow 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Yeah let's make it complicated with all those overkilled electronics addons. Why do you need all of that? Why not just go with digital and be done with analog? I don't get it. Just seems like a huge waste of money. I have not got a slot car kit yet, been thinking about getting into it but as of now I don't know. Every time I watch a car slot video, people seems to think you got to over complicate it. Why?! Why not keep it simple?

    • @MPSlotCar
      @MPSlotCar  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I love my digital racing and would never go strictly analog. That being said, analog offers a lot more options in terms of cars and (a lot) is an understatement. With that is also brands that only make analog cars... as a collector, I collect the cars I like and unfortunately being strictly digital I’m limited to what I can run on my track. I was going the route of chipping cars to run digital but by going the route I did and although it may seem complicated and to that point there are other simpler options available now. it still was cheaper for me in the long run to get the system instead of chipping all these cars that I want to run on my personal layout and not just at the club track. Now it’s not for everybody and that’s fine, but I enjoy the cars brought to us by brands like slot.it, NSR, Thunderslot, Scaleauto and so on so that why I personally went this route.

    • @darillfow
      @darillfow 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@MPSlotCar Ah okay, I understand now. As for me if I do get into this hobby I will probably just go with digital only since most videos I've watched has recommend that if you are new to the hobby. So we will see. I like what I'm seeing and I love your design of the tracks, looks like fun, fun, fun! lol
