Been totally diving into 'Final Girl' as of late, but there is something to be said about the simple-yet-complex machinations of a good Button Shy game. I still go to 'Food Chain Island' constantly. Thanks for another great video!

Thanks for introducing us to these button shy games 😊 can't wait for a retail of some of theme here in France.

Flattered to see At the Helm in there! You aren’t the first to get tripped up by how the Shipyard rules are worded. You get a card from the Shipyard for either action in the rules … pay 2 coin or pay 1 coin and trade a card in hand for one in the Shipyard. Glad you enjoyed it!

So glad you decided to do a Button Shy Games video! Got into them thanks to you, it started with In Vino Morte and ROVE, then I added expansions to ROVE and Skulls of Sedlec expansions included. I backed the Simply Solo Line campaign they have right now on kickstarter. Numbsters seems to be a really fun! Will definitely have to turn on notifications for future Twitch Streams though I'm from Israel which means streams are probably gonna be late at night my time.
Will be glad to have more videos like this and maybe show some of the RPG games, or the two player games you have that you and Jeff love

Numbsters has an expansion coming soon. It was made available during the Spring 2024 reprint campaign.
I love your BS videos. My favorite BS game that I currently own (I own 12 so far) is Converge. I have more coming since I joined the club and bought all 6 from the current reprint campaign. The reprint campaign has Numbsters and At the Helm.

Love me some ButtonShy games. I have a pretty large collection now, thanks to Michelle 😂. I love love Numbsters! And I love Wonder Tales and knew you would love it too. Others I love are Ugly Gryphon Inn and Food Chain Island. A couple other solos that I like that are a little heavier and science and space based are two older ButtonShy games called Space Shipped and Pentaquark. I think you have to appreciate the theme to enjoy these but I am also a science nerd! Great video! A ButtonShy day sounds awesome!

Awesome, I have always wanted to hear more about all of these. Numbsters and At the Helm have my attention. But, I really need to play Ugly Gryphon Inn first (on my shelf of shame).

Buttonshy has exceeded my expectations. Often, really small games are not as good as "normal size" games. More often than not, BS games are challenging and /or relaxing, and a great addition to a board game collection. I have about 15 BS games, and I plan on buying more. If variety is the spice of life, these are in my spice rack.
So far, my favorite is Naturopolis, but I also like Rove, Spaceshipped, At The Helm, Smoke And Mirrors, and Fishing Lessons, in that order.

I've been randomly watching a lot of your channels videos this week, especially the solo ones. Great channel!
This video may be the video that finally convinced me to get Final Girl. Why this video? Because I'm a huge ButtonShy fan so to see a BS obsessive who obviously has some solo crossover with my tase rate Final Girl as their fav has made me really take notice!
I do own Hostage Negotiator so it wasn't the hardest sell but I've been on the fence about it for years!
One thing I would say about ButtonShy that reviewers often forget to mention is how popular they are in the Print and Play niche of the hobby. All their back catalogue is on PnPArcade for only a few bucks a piece. It's the reason why someone like me in Ireland can be a ButtonShy obsessive and build a collection and feel connected to a tiny publisher in New Jersey. It's worth mentioning when you cover BS again. They're also super easy to PnP well.
Oh and even if you personally don't need PnP copies there is one thing you might be interested in.... It would be super easy to buy the pdf of something like Wonder Tales and reformat it to make a version with euro sized mini cards that fits on an airline tray table! People do stuff like that with PnP all the time!
Anyway thanks for making such interesting and entertaining videos!

When you play Numbsters, I really hope you make the "num num num" noise every time a card eats another one! :) Haven't bought any Button Shy games yet, but that's only because there are SO MANY games I need to get that these haven't happened yet. (But I have bought a few PNP copies - just don't have a color printer to print them on ... yet.)

Thanks so much for introducing some Button Shy games that I'm less familiar with! (And I think I'm going to purchase Numbsters now. Looks like it would be a good "play on the plane" travel game.) I'm waiting for Naturopolis to arrive and that order will also include Food Chain Island (based on your recommendation) and one other game (can't remember which one). I enjoy Sprawlopolis and Skulls of Sedlec solo. On the non-Button Shy front, I also like a nine-card game called Orchard. Have you ever played a game called Palm Island?

    • @FostertheMeeple

The only way to beat Numbsters is to have two consecutive numbers left at the end. Get rid of the 18 before you clear the deck!
