This is the kind of collateral material we need to avoid super-predictable issues. Not “high glamour” but sorely needed and greatly appreciated. Thank you.
if you get the message "Your organization does not allow you to place this file here" when trying to move exhsting fs2024 files to a new location, then thats microsoft blocking you not your computer settings . the only way i have found is by actually moving them from the original fs2020 folder to your new 2024 community location. this is assuming you havent already deleted your fs2020 folder.
Thanks Mark. Many of us have been using MSFS AddonLinker to manage our community files and not sure if there is anything to be modified. The program should have pointed to the community files' default location.
What I m more concerned about is that placing or linking your existing fs2020 one store folder in 2024's fs2020 folder under the community folder have you ever tried that one and does it work that way? So this way maybe you get everything there and no need scenery stream over the internet. Any idea?
I managed to get 2024 goung yesterday after reinstalling the latest nvidia driver update. When i went to do a freeflight ot seems to have linked the 2020 paid aircraft to 2024 even though i hadnt transfered them across . Is that just me or......
Great helpful video again Mark...I've followed all the steps on yours and many others, but as soon as I start the sim again I find that is created another community folder and inside the one I've made.....so nothing loads in.....I've been at this for 4 days and no closer to getting this work. I have even uninstalled everything over a handful of times and still the same results, tried the same & same results when trying to go through Addon Linker for 24....Any help anyone.
I did my initial store install straight to my dedicated m.2 drive (not to the recommended C drive). Was that a mistake? Rather than just moving the package folder etc. Seems to be working ok. edit.. My M$ limitless folder isnt in my C drive! As installed on E drive (msfs2024).
Hope this was helpful to those that needed the info. Thanks for watching :)

At 5:22, if you click on "Packages" you will also find Community folder which is empty.... strange no ?
Could you please explain why ????

@@arcangelkq when selecting the folder where you want to install, highlight it, but do not enter the folder.
So when you move your community folder, the previous two Official (Official2024, Official2020) folders persist?
@@Redridge07 yes, but not used.
@@SimHangerFS So it would be smart to delete the old version to that the drive space back.
