COLTON - re: firestarting... hold your knife hand steady, and pull back with your flint, that way all the spark is concentrated to 1 area at the same time.
Honestly your growth is amazing glad your slowing down and realizing how crazy it is you guys are out there with those rigs 🎉 keep it up Robby and family !
Rookie mistake. Any time you go into the desert. GAS, twice as much as you need. WATER, a gallon per person per day and one for the car, minimum, Spare tire, and a way to change it. I also carry a spare key, cause I have stories. I made a right angle funnel for a gas filler like that. That's a really nice area to explore.
Guess the next thing it needs is a bigger gas tank. Or at least some racks to carry fuel cans. Love that area. I've been through it a few times 20 years ago in my Extreme Isuzu Marlin Crawler Rodeo. (I have 2 gas tanks on it, and 2 Jerry cans on the spare tire rack.)
Kudos to Rob for completing 2 capable builds😂😂😂 lameo and breadtruck, TH-cam verified ♥️ almost as perfect as the purdy perfect bosslady😂 nah, not even close😏 Bosslady is the best in the world❤
Don't forget Robby and his crew also built that On X Short bus too ;) Awesome adventure in some really Gnarly terrain too :) But yeah........ bring extra Fuel & Water. One just never knows when thing go south on ya ;)
With all that fancy inside paint, end up having to cover it up. you'll want to insulate the inside, add some curtains and lights to make it feel comfortable to sleep in. Ditch the air mattresses and get foamies. Install a diesel heater for the cold weather. And build a slide out cooking setup for outdoors. The less time setting up camp the more comfortable it is to be outdoors. That's one mistake I made with my van. A nice ready to go outdoor cooking setup. Glad you enjoyed and continue to Enjoy the outdoors. Too bad the kids can't join you
That was fun. What an adventure. Just a great time and scenery. Hillbilly missed out , Sean missed out on this one. But with a little better planning prep, looks like something to do again. A giant Layton Nation family (all the families) adventure come warmer weather. Far better than Snowden....
You were so close to Smoky holes . It is several holes in the ground that coal smoke comes out. They think it started by lightning 100 years ago and have been burning ever since.
what you need robby is a roof rack behind your light bar, and fit a big fuel tank on it with a pipe conected to it so you can fill up when you need to ,for offroad ing adventures
You should have consulted with Matt about how to build a fuel tank that will allow you to climb any hill without starving the fuel, like he built for the wrecker!
Something tells me you will mount an auxiliary fuel tank and some Jerrycans on the bread truck in a future episode. At least now you know what mileage you get offroad.
Well, at least you’re having fun on your adventure Your fuel sock may have picked up some debris Or your sump may not be allowing enough gas to carry you over the humps But you know what you need for emergencies like this The Starling mini you can call from help anywhere you can see the sky I have Sterling. It works great. You could even do a live stream from your campground Or maybe you’ve got a loose connection on your fuel pump and it keeps dropping out I guess we’ll find out as we continue watching
Not only does a diesel give you more torque , but it also gives you better fuel mileage.... Another good reason to put a cummings diesel in the bread van
Come on y'all, gotta get the Mr. Buddy propane heaters for this kinda night. Well, Colton's screwed, no room for it but just make sure there's some air flow somewhere in the vehicles for the propane fumes and you're golden.
WELL YOU DON'T NEED JERRY CANS ,BUT THEY DO HELP!😂 GAS WEIGHS A TON AFTER CARING IT ON FOOT FIVE MILES DOWN THE ROAD! YOU MIGHT HAVE HAD SOME WATER IN SYSTEM AND OR DEBRIS NICELY SHAKEN BY THE PIONEER HIGHWAYS! HAVE A GREAT WEEK AND COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS. 👋😇👍✌️👌👋🙏
Tiny gas tank and a bad engine tune if that much fuel is being used. You also never go out like that without carrying extra fuel. There’s more than enough room under that van for a larger fuel tank.
I think that's pretty awesome what you built I mean totally awesome if you'd upgrade it and get eventually where you could go camping we had a heater and stuff like that that going to be totally cool out there
Robby Needya some insulation sprayed in like Paul did the Jeep build.... and a Chinesium Diesel Heater. Maybe some insulated clip on window/shield cover blankets.. and obviously larger fuel tank.

Get out there and start exploring!
Fuel gauge provided by MORR
😂😂😂
😂😂
omg this is funny
That is so funny 😂😂😂😂😂
Even worse, it doesn't have one at all. It is an epic vehicle however.
The boss's giggle when things start getting tricky is so fun, I like it every time
It must be rewarding to see two vehicles you and your crew build on the trail
I'm surprised the school bus works and didn't break down...
Two things you should never order from Acme: Fuel gages and mail order brides. Excellent video! Hearing Demri giggle was the best part!
Their catapult seem to have a defect as well.
@@dicky7600 And their parachute packs contain anvils.
COLTON - re: firestarting... hold your knife hand steady, and pull back with your flint, that way all the spark is concentrated to 1 area at the same time.
That custom doghouse in the 🍞 van is the BOMB 💣 👌
At least you found the WAY. Thanks for introducing us to such beautiful scenery and OnX knows the way to get there and back!
Honestly your growth is amazing glad your slowing down and realizing how crazy it is you guys are out there with those rigs 🎉 keep it up Robby and family !

That's a really nice area to explore.
Good point, I don't think they even had a spare.
Being prepared is so overrated.
Best prep... satellite cellphone, so you can have fuel flown in.😂
It was certainly a success. You must be very proud, to have built both these vehicles. They entered, and both came home. SUCCESS.
The old bread van I used to drive had a 20 gallon tank and would go about 100 miles. So, yours is doing OK with the MPG.
Just need a roof rack that holds 4 to 10 5 gallon cans 😂 . Nice views hope you had fun.
I haven't seen anything about the bread van in a while, this thing looks absolutely awesome. Nice work!
Proper overlanders need a 40 gallon gas tank and a SNORKEL. You said you were going to build a snorkel. 😂
Anyway, this stuff is fun. Thanks RLN.
Pretty cool guys..Huge thanks to Dave sparks for saving your bacon and flying in Fuel...😊
Overlanding without spare gas tanks is overlanding on hard mode.
So is taking a vehicle that only gets 4 mpg... 😁
Kudos to Rob for completing 2 capable builds😂😂😂 lameo and breadtruck, TH-cam verified ♥️ almost as perfect as the purdy perfect bosslady😂 nah, not even close😏 Bosslady is the best in the world❤

THIS WAS SO EPIC!! wish there was more! Awesome to see both creations work their magic!!
An overlander without external tanks??? Everry Taco-Bro seems to have them everywhere. A breadvan needs some also!
Going offroading in something with no fuel gauge and no idea how much it uses and then not taking jerry cans . . .
Yep
S O P
Right? Fabricated difficulties to generate views? Kinda hard to believe these channels are actually that air headed.
@@gungadingo you did not watch to the end (36:11) he shows the way...laugh out loud.
@@gungadingo He must be taking lessons from Dave Sparks.
You guys are so cool. Enjoy the hell watching you.
I vote for a company campout! I think it would be awesome and hilarious. You have a special group there, Robby.
That aria is so beautiful. I did it Big Water through to Escalante. It was so muddy in places.
Thanks for bringing us on your wacky road trip! I'm glad you remembered the other 5 gallons.😊
I thought my 454 was hard on gas. You better put a bigger fuel tank in the bread van.
What a beautiful place! Refreshes one's soul to see that.
When you guy's get back you need to put a bigger gas tank or ,a reserve tank. This will make for better adventures. Thanks for taking us along guy's 👌
You should rig up a diesel heater to heat that thing up when camping.
Or don't be wimps. That helps too.

The wrap on the bus is very nice. Really suits it.
amazing Dave Sparks
That was fun. What an adventure. Just a great time and scenery. Hillbilly missed out , Sean missed out on this one. But with a little better planning prep, looks like something to do again. A giant Layton Nation family (all the families) adventure come warmer weather. Far better than Snowden....
Awesome guys..canr wait to take my son and grandson on that trail
add some external Fuel cans onto the Breadvan in true Safari Fashion.....
You were so close to Smoky holes . It is several holes in the ground that coal smoke comes out. They think it started by lightning 100 years ago and have been burning ever since.
Made it out to Alstrom Pt for the November 14th supermoon in 2016. Amazing place.
Smoky mountain overlook!!! That must be one tall overlook to be able to see the Smoky Mountains from Utah!!!!!
You looked so excited man... Gotta love some Robby Layton with hus poker face all the time
No matter how much fun is going on, you always have an I'm unhappy face man change it for everyone around you
Between the two builds there is. Just something about the bread van. That’s just a little bit cooler.
Holley HydraMat is like a huge pickup sock for your fuel cell or stock tank. There are all different sizes.
Thank you for the awesome adventure!
Going to have to get a bigger tank if you're going to do this again .
Really enjoyed this trip with you.😊
It's called farm etiquette when you come to a gate if it's closed you close it if it's open you leave it open
Yes
yes
what you need robby is a roof rack behind your light bar, and fit a big fuel tank on it with a pipe conected to it so you can fill up when you need to ,for offroad ing adventures
You need to add mounts for 4 20 gallon Jerry cans for gas and 2 for water.
You should build a sump into the fuel tank, should help with the pickup..
We saw the Ronson fumes. Boy Scout fluid to the rescue.
That's a beautiful area that you're in we don't have it around here in Tennessee like that we have nothing but trees and mountains
Awesome vehicles, stunning views, great memories
Those air mattresses are the worst. You always wake up on the ground half way through the night because it went flat lol.
You should have consulted with Matt about how to build a fuel tank that will allow you to climb any hill without starving the fuel, like he built for the wrecker!
looks like you guys had a good trip 👍
Diesel heaters for camping in metal boxes. Just a thought. Awesome rigs.
Something tells me you will mount an auxiliary fuel tank and some Jerrycans on the bread truck in a future episode. At least now you know what mileage you get offroad.
"Well, we never said that we are *good* at camping!"

😂😂
Not only does a diesel give you more torque , but it also gives you better fuel mileage.... Another good reason to put a cummings diesel in the bread van
Spell it CUMMINS. No "g"
The cockpit view driving through this barren land looks like you're on Mars in a rover - except for the blue sky 😅
Two upgrades for the bread truck. Larger fuel tank. Decent camping heater.
It’s only done for content. Nobody can be as ill prepared as TH-camrs from Utah. 😅
He’s been hanging around Matt too much
Definitely made up BS!
I mean…when they bought their winter camping gear at Walmart…
@@dieselrugg winter? lmao
I think y'all should do it again but with all the guys with y'all Mat, Paul,Dav
Get yourself a diesel heater and fit it in the bread van
I don’t know how many times I’ve mentioned to you guys to get a $120 diesel heater in your rigs they work great 1:50
Saw Whisky driving the onX Bus like 2 weeks ago in Page!
Come on y'all, gotta get the Mr. Buddy propane heaters for this kinda night. Well, Colton's screwed, no room for it but just make sure there's some air flow somewhere in the vehicles for the propane fumes and you're golden.
Loved it. Cheers, y'all.
If you had known it was pet friendly you could have brought Bomdi.
I think the deleted fuel gage was a tip from Matt,,,
Matt: You don't need to know how much gas you have. 😂
Holley makes a special fuel mat that helps feed the pump on angles way better
WELL YOU DON'T NEED JERRY CANS ,BUT THEY DO HELP!😂 GAS WEIGHS A TON AFTER CARING IT ON FOOT FIVE MILES DOWN THE ROAD!
YOU MIGHT HAVE HAD SOME WATER IN SYSTEM AND OR DEBRIS NICELY SHAKEN BY THE PIONEER HIGHWAYS! HAVE A GREAT WEEK AND COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS. 👋😇👍✌️👌👋🙏
Coltin you slept like king on a queen size bed. 😅😅
No spare fuel cans😢 This definitely could be a Matt adventure 😀
Thought I was watching Matt's channel this week..........😅
You gynxed it saying this is the most prepared you've ever been 😂
It *WAS* the most prepared he's ever been 😎
Tiny gas tank and a bad engine tune if that much fuel is being used. You also never go out like that without carrying extra fuel. There’s more than enough room under that van for a larger fuel tank.
I don’t believe that wasn’t a planned TH-cam stunt!
@ Probably!
I trust that you shared a ribeye steak with Whiskey the dog!
Fix your fuel gauge MAT JR . Glad you have friends to get you gas.
That onyx map is a lifesaver
You did a Matt !
great as always great content very entertaining good job
The one thing i didnt notice was wether or not you insulater the bread van. Hot or cold, it would seem prudent to do so.
Call Jared & Zeke they can come rescue you down there!🏴☠Need a bigger fuel tank dad! Or a Fuel Semi!
If you are willing to lose some interior space , how cool would it look to have some inset spots for jerrycans
But Robby, if anyone does the route you completed, can they phone heavy D to bring them fuel 😂
Great video as always. Thank you from 🇬🇧
all that amazing metal work and no phone holder. lol
You need to go to Kelly point. When you crawl for 10 hours and come out to rim it’s awesome.
The Boss hasn't laughed that loud for months😂😂😂
I think that's pretty awesome what you built I mean totally awesome if you'd upgrade it and get eventually where you could go camping we had a heater and stuff like that that going to be totally cool out there
Check the co for fuel usage , get it tuned
Epic adventure
You got to love him❤
Holley fuel mat would be perfect for this
Puts a new meaning to GasBuddy...
Robby Needya some insulation sprayed in like Paul did the Jeep build.... and a Chinesium Diesel Heater. Maybe some insulated clip on window/shield cover blankets.. and obviously larger fuel tank.
"More butta more betta" famous quote from Japanese teppanyaki chef
Time for Sean to make a bigger tank or a few Jerry Can holders
