Ok can we talk at 1:20 where One Winged Angel fits perfectly with the situation, especially when Sephiroth draws his sword at Cloud! Damn that’s an iconic moment!
The scene with Aerith showing up first is the canon one for me. Just because having those three characters in that situation, Cloud and Aerith fighting Sephiroth, just the two of them for that short period of time, it means to much for this game.
It's also the first time she fights Sephiroth rather than being ambushed while summoning Holy. She did just as well as expected.

She is the highest damage dealer. And with the upgraded synergy materia she is now the most OP of them all.

@@brucechmiel7964 No she is not. If you take into account lack of mana sustain on the hard mode she is only the highest BURST damage dealer. She is easily depleted and has to spend like 10 ATB bars on the soul drain to do a single good combo after that point. Depending on spells with high chanting time also means she is easily interrupted, and in many fights she won't be able to deal high damage even WITH infinite mana. Another problem is her glaring lack of durability that can't be buffed beyond a certain point with any of her weapons. Because of that her incap rate is highest among all of the team, she basically needs constantly to spend her bars on healing or defensive abilities, which also cuts her damage, because she just can't maintain constant pressure and has to shift into a healer all the time.
Because of all of that, when it comes to sustained, reliable damage, Tifa is by far her superior. She uses no manga and can infinitely chain and spam her high-damage AOE combos. On top of that she can be buffed to an instane levels of durability and defense with proper combinations of weapons and gear, basically turning her into a well rounded killing machine. Tifa/Aerith dynamic works a lot better when Tifa takes care of damage, and Aerith is tasked with debuffing, healing and resing the team. Give Aerith auto-cure, synergy, steadfast block and an MP absorb linked to the same element that you use for synergy - and you NEVER have to click her character again. She will be dealing decent damage, healing herself and others, gaining ATBs from auto-blocking, and will never run out of mana. Meanwhile, you can completely focus on mastering your Cloud/Tifa fighting style to deal insane amount of damage.
She has the power of all the Sims
This is so cool. I've watched many different playthroughs and noticed things are not the same, some of these i had no idea existed...
I still like Aerith's cinematic when arriving 1st, since it's so sassy and hilarious.
I've got aerith arrived 1st too, and after seeing all the possibilities here i think i have choose the best option 😂
In an alternate reality, there exists an extra cutscene for when Red XIII joins the fight...

Nope. The part where he gets trapped with the graviga spell makes this even clearer as our boy Sephiroth could've easily finished him off but is just toying with the party instead . . .
I didn’t know Barret could join, I was always surprised I never saw him in this final battle.
I think it goes by either level or how much you have them in your party. I ended up with Barrett, I assumed since I didn't use Aerith that much.
Before you ask, I got bored while I was reading the comments. But it goes by who you used to finish off the Whispers in the previous battle. If you finish more off with Tifa, for example, she joins first, followed by whoever finished off the second most.
I guess Barret can’t shoot a giant ball of debris out of the air like Aerith...
We saw barret shoot through walls in underground area. No reason why he couldn't do the same here lol

@@DecoratorTax8 Replying to both of you, but yes. Just like in the original game, this game features a hidden affection mechanic. Your choices in dialogue are most of what increase your affection with a character
@@Blueskiesnclear I think it's not the same mechanic here : it depens on the character you used the most during the previous fight. I could be wrong tho
@@fenrir9784 I assumed it was a mixture of both. In my first playthrough, I missed out on the secret scene with Tifa in Aerith’s garden because I skipped out on some side missions, but when I fought Sephiroth during that same playthrough, Tifa was the first party member to show up. I assume that is because Tifa is my most used party member in battle because I naturally like playing as her the most *(aside from Cloud).*
@@DVRKSTXR random guy who googled the answer here: Apparently the value is determined by the fight with the whispers before hand. The more you use a character there, spells, abilities, items and even staggering a whisper of fate, the higher their values they in the fight with Seph. Barret will always only show up second however no matter how high his score is.

Nope, it's always either Tifa or Aerith.

Weirdly enough I got Tifa the first time despite being obsessed with Aerith, and then the 2nd run I got Aerith first. I had no idea the "So what? Screw him" line was gonna come up 🤣🤣🤣

No, it is not
It depends on how much you use them for your fight with the Whispers at the end. If you use Aerith the most, she comes first. If Tifa, she comes first. Barret can come second if you use him a lot too, but it's difficult to achieve, since for parts of the fight he is auto-shooting the Arbiter with Red.
As cool as it is to see all these cutscenes...what I really like about this video is it looks like you kept all of the character's starting gear, and I love that! I know this is a JRPG and their gear is ultimately up to you, but I always saw their starting gear as their canon one. I suppose I am right since in the pre-rendered cutscenes they're wearing that exact same gear! I dunno. I know it's a weird thing to focus on, but it makes the cutscenes all the more fun for me. In fact I did a playthrough with only the "canon" gear. And IF the game ever comes to PC, I'll play it again with only the starting gear. Thanks for the video and showing us all the different combinations! We appreciate your hard work! :D
Am I the only one that prefers Tifa's dialogue compared to Aerith? You can just see her synergy with Cloud as childhood friends.
Plus she looks damn sweet when she turns her head towards Cloud, even though she can shatter rocks.

I got Barret in this fight...mostly on purpose because he's Barret.

Definitely could be! This dialogue could also be Barrett just being more comfortable or feeling closer to Tifa than Aerith. But he probably does ship them either way :)
Maybe he's a multi shipper, I remember the moment after they slept at Aerith house, in the morning they were ready to rescue her and Barret said "your Aerith" so idk, in the og he makes comment for both girls tho
@@daeith1233 well, I never got that far in the Original version (ported to switch for me) since I got stuck on that zolom. And I never played the remake because I currently don't have anything beyond the PS2 besides a PC and a Switch.

I’m REALLY glad I found this vid, thank you for uploading this. I saw clips of other characters joining in (like with Aerith after Sephiroth is defeated), but I never knew of certain ones, like with Tifa after Sephiroth is defeated. Gotta love it!

2:43 It wasn't until after maybe 5 or 10 playthroughs that I saw one TH-camr get this moment with Barret being the second team mate brought back instead of Tifa or Aerith that made me realize even the last battle had several different versions of custscenes based on the order in which each of the team mates got reintroduced. Cheers for getting all these variations recorded.

I had no idea this was possible!!! I just finished my second playthrough and freaked out because I didn't get Barret this time around, and basically all my strategy revolved around him LOL
Is the combination random because I had Aerith the first time, lost, and then got Tifa the next time

After learning there were alternate scenes, I intentionally spent a massive amount of time with Barret and Tifa since I had gotten Aerith the first time, still got the Aerith cutscene, and then i've never NOT had it be Aerith, then Tifa, then Barret in the final fight no matter what I did.
@@raielle Nah, u should be focus on the Whispers boss fight. That battle is the key to decide whose party to come out in Sephiroth's fight
@@ivanleong7568 see, that's the thing. I've killed The Whispers in different orders and I've beaten the game at least six or seven times and it's never different. So I don't know maybe I got a faulty copy? Because I've done all kinds of stuff very different every time I played through and I have managed to get the aerith scene, and the tifa scene at aerith house plus the clothes variants, bit vs sophy, it's always aerith, then tifa.

That's the counting system for each character in that Whisper fight. I think maybe u use Aerith to finishing off the Whisper Harbinger at the end and get the highest score?

Yes it have it must release the second part later bc in the original it was 2 or 3 disc's and the remake is not over yet

If anyone was wondering WHY SE had to make it "the unknown journey continues"?
This freaking video is your answer, in Midgar you nearly always naturally have 3 party members, but as soon as you exit Midgar, you have to choose to split the party.
Imagine them having to to this for every combination of potential party members for every single cutscene.
They can't, which means they either have to make the lines interchangeable and totally impersonal, or somehow always add in all characters. Or otherwise, they have to make it so that the game is slightly different and that the party is often split along predefined ways.
For evidence of this, look at the remake, as soon as you get your fourth member, the game splits you up into two groups that you have to switch between.
As soon as you get back together, Barret has to be artificially removed from the fight by being fake killed by Sephiroth.
Then we get the arbiter fight and the crew is artificially split up, then Barret is forcefully removed in order to fight the Arbiter of fate.
And then we have the ONE story battle in the game where you can in potentia choose your own party members and it requires 5 freaking different cutscenes.....
They knew this would not be maintainable in the rest of the game, they knew that as soon as the player leaves Midgar, maintaining faithfulness would suddenly become basically impossible, so they preemptively went "fuck it, we gotta change stuff people".
Because this the end of part 1 if it didn’t say that then it would be the end already lmao
Did not think of this at all lol. They could easily just go the acceptable breaks from reality route and have it so only three party members show up in certain moments because the original did have that impersonalness you're talking about when you can choose anyone to be in your party. It is definitely tough to do though because the remake doesn't have loading screens and everything is seamless, so you don't get a loading screen before battles anymore, you just jump from the cutscene to the fight. I think the original had a problem with this too where they had to make excuses for you to only be able to have only three party members

The whole ‘the unknown journey continues’ is because they’ve defeated the whispers of fate. Meaning the game can now freely divert from the OG.

There's a point system during the Whisper Boss, but it swings heavily to Aerith given she barely is in the fight, but you have to get kills with Barret and Tifa.

How to choose party members to defeat sephiroth?
It's dependent on who you use the most during the fights vs the whispers before you reach Sephiroth.
So if you used manually controlled Tifa more than Aerith she will show up first, then the other character that shows up next is dependent on who you used the second most. Barret will only show up as the second character.

I had the pleasure of beating Sephiroth with Tifa and Aerith on hard. I have managed to avoid 1 winged angel with Aerith, restored my team( Cloud, Tifa from 1hp) and kicked his ass. It was not easy.
I believe we should be able to request a duel with a cop. When they feel like a bad ass

Not really, The game feels like a continuation to advent children in general, final fantasy have always had a thing with timelines like past present and future etc.
What is what determines who joins you? I was very disappointed you couldn't choose your final party. What do I have to me do to have Tifa always join me?
Also I wanted her to join me first and Aerith arrived instead.
What I have to do to always get Tifa and if possible first?
I don't have any predilection for the other 2 characters, so whoever arrives later is fine by me.
It has to do with who you use more in the Whispers boss fight. You get points every time Barret, Tifa, and Aerith use an item spell or ability, every time they use a LB, or every time they kill and stagger a Whisper boss. Be warned, because Aerith isn't in the boss fight for long, she gets more than twice as many points per action than Barret or Tifa, basically guaranteeing that she shows up either first or second if you use her basically at all. So to get Tifa first and Aerith second, make sure Tifa is controlled for twice as long and is twice as effective as Aerith.
